How are all you new mummies doing?

Looks great!!

I'm trying Luke on finger foods tomorrow.

Ewe just ordered a house special fried ride from Chinese place and I just bit into a prawn they hadn't peeled. Yuck!!

Hello ladies, just checking in. Loads to catch up on.

For those of you that have had problems I hope you get them sorted.

Well done to Oscar for woffing his food down lol and to Isabelle for rolling.

Very lovely Kaedin.

Jojo hope you find out either way soon.

To everyone else, hope you had fab weekends. The wedding was amazing! Longstowe hall in Cambridgeshire and the venue was amazing, fab food and drink, great company. Had a beat box group, and mc and a dj. Flowers and cake were beautiful and a free bar!! Result

Oscar loves his food! Can't believe the only thing he's really spat out is an Ella's kitchen fish pie pouch we tried him on!

He loves finger foods! I'm giving him finger food lunch with yogurt and a mushy/purée dinner with fruit finger food for pudding

He enjoys those organix 'type crisp things' the carrot stick things and he loved a Heinz biscotti biccy! He's had steamed broccoli and carrot sticks, toast/bread , strawberries, tomatoe, cucumber sticks, apple sticks, banana etc

This evening he LOVED the fish dish I prepared out of AK book - fish with veg and a cheese sauce- got a spag Bol in the fridge for tomorrow

For all the trouble we have had with his reflux - seeing him so engaged and interactive with his food makes all that stress seem worth it- he is such a pleasure to watch !!

This was him today - crying because his yoghurt was empty haha! We do lunch in a nappy - because he gets so messy lol

Bless him. Glad he is doing so well after everything.

awww lovely Bex! Is he not sick with reflux anymore now he's eating so much food?

Well I feel like an awful parent! Followed hv advice and gave Luke 1/4 a grape... Luke bloody choked on it and I had to turn him upside down. Last time I listen to her advice I tell you.

Don't feel awful Jojo it's not your fault if the HV recommended it, glad Luke is ok! I think I read in one of my weaning booklets that they recommend giving sliced grapes around 10 months? I get freaked out by anyone choking so I'm going to be a nervous wreck when I start weaning with Hayley.

I asked if I should give him peeled grapes but noooooo! No it's fine they have a reflex - does he he'll have a reflex! I said I didn't want to but she insisted it's the bay way but hats it, no more finger food! I'm going to stick to my plan of lumpy purée building up lumps like I should have instead of listening to her stupid bloody advice!

Kaedin, cot looks good. If it gets cold by the window, just pull her cot up agains your bed.

Bex, love that pic. Lol. I tried Emma with toast yesterday and she loved it. Although she then tried to eat the plate too. Was pretty scary. So with the veg. Do you just plonk it in front of Oscar and let him go for it?

Jojo, my eldest choked on a grape too when he was little. So left it longer for Maddie and she choked too. Think cause grapes are a bit slippery, babies don't get a chance to mush them up on their gums before they slip down their throat. Think I'll be leaving grapes till Emma has lots of teeth.

Michelle, glad the zoo went well. I'll be deciding on the day if we go or not depending on how the kids are behaving!lol

HV advise is always very hit and miss!

After nearly 5 months the filter light on my prep machine has come on. I was starting to think it would last forever :P

I had bought Tommee Tippee storage lids from amazon but ended up buying MAM bottles which work alot better so don't need them. Went on amazon website to get a returns label and they've just given me a refund and said I don't need to post them back. That was easy!

The good thing is the cots really light so it's very easy for me to move it on my own if it is too cold at the window, or if i have the heating on as i don't want Hayley too close to the radiator! We just got out cavity walls insulated last week so im hoping my room stays somewhat warm at least until winter properly comes along

Jojo- I think grapes are abit of a choke hazard myself - they Arnt a very soft fruit - poor luke - don't listen to your HV when you are pretty adamant on something - mum knows best :)

As for veg Toria - yep - I boiled it ( couldn't be bothered to get steamer out ) and just plonked it on his high chair table and let him crack on - he does drop it sometimes and struggles to pick it back up so I get it and pop it back on his tray

He had 2 florets of broccoli - few carrot sticks and some other bits :)

The filter light hasn't come on my prep yet thinking about it! Ha

Ryan has had grapes, chopped in half length ways and not peeled, he only managed to eat 1 grapes worth, but I think maybe cutting it into a 1/4 is abit small? Like half a grape stands no chance of slipping down, so he just gags, pushes it back round his mouth, smooshes it abit more then swallows? Maybe try that!? X

He's never having grapes again - not until he's at least 1

Lol! Maybe that's slightly dramatic?! He'll get used to them! X

He's not having them
Again... I might give him blueberry or raspberry or something but no more grapes

I'm really unhappy. Hayley came home at 10am this morning, I gave her a bottle and she was tired so took her upstairs to have a nap in her cot. I pulled down her trousers and she has (yet another) big scratch on her leg.

I've taken a photo and texted my ex as he never mentioned it. And just said she didn't have it when he dressed her this morning. She had thick trousers on so theres no way anyone or herself could have done it through the trousers. Thats 2 scratches she's had on her leg that he can't explain

Go to your Soliciter and explain you are refusing access because she's coming back with scratches that he can't explain!
