How are all you new mummies doing?

He replied to my text and I'm too scared to open it, will give myself some time to calm down so that I reply with my sensible head on, rather than my crazy emotional head where I may say something silly.

do you think S is nearly ready for weaning Jen? Hayley isn't good at sitting at all so I don't think I'll be trying anytime soon, she's great at standing but she can't sit up on her own bless!

I don't feel like she's ready yet. She can sit in her wee chair but doesn't have 100% head control, also she's satisfied on her milk too and doesn't seem to want more. I'm also a bit scared to go before the 6 months tbh when I read all the research. If I feel like she is ready before tho, I'll ask my HV. I think I'm one of the few that find mine quite useful!

Yeah, I was abit worried thinking Hayley was behind as shes not able to sit up. I didn't want to wean early, but i'll see how i feel if hayley seems ready for food before she turns 6 months, i may reconsider

Yeah I agree Kathryn, I'm hoping she does something one day that just jumps out at me like a eureka! she's ready! ;-) It could all change any day, and I decide that she's ready, I just know what a stress head I am! Mega excited for it tho. Hubby and I were saying at dinner how excited we are to have her sitting up with us :-)

That was only a few weeks ago wasn't it? That's ace that he is onto 3 meals a day already! I hope she takes to it so quick x

Well done kaedin - he's an arse and obv now trying to justify himself since you're not just letting him get away with it. Good for you!

We've tried Maddie on some baby rice and purée this weekend as she's been fussing her bottles for weeks now and will try to grab for food I'm eating!! I thought id try her and just see and she loved it and had a bottle after and was content for a good few hours which she hadn't been for a little while so think she's just one of the early ones, she's always been a big baby though and has been on 8oz for a while

Maddie was wide awake tonight so didn't get her down til 9, hoping for a good night! I'm knackered

Yes, only started proper food (not baby rice) 2 weeks ago really a and apart from yesterday when he wanted his milk not food he's really into it.

He was on my lap at sil's when I was having breakfast and he was grabbing for my ham and cheese croissant and my Nutella on toast. Such a cheeky baby!

luke had roast dinner purreed down today lol. chicken, potatoes, carrots, brocoli. for breajfast he had strawberry and porridge and for tea he had mango puree.

I've bought some peaches I'm awaiting to ripen properly so I can try him on them!

Going to cook a chicken breast this week and try him with that

Hubby's 30th Thursday so got a busy week coming up!! Lots to do and lots planned!

Sounds exciting Bex! What you got planned for him?

It's our anniversary next week but we want to do something family cos we go on holiday the next week so plenty of time for dinners and stuff. Any ideas? Do you think S is too young for the zoo or farm?

Hubby's best mates wife have birth this morning! Waters went at 3pm yesterday so been waiting patently for news! They were team yellow and everyone thought girl but turns out was alittle boy 8lb 1!

Now I get to go buy something cute and newborn

Hubby's 30th - shopping today for decorations and a few little pressies, wrap it all at MIL tomorrow and bring it back, Wednesday go buy some stuff for breakfast on his bday morning , then his mum coming round late morning, off the birthday steak!

Friday do all the food shopping for his BBQ ( apart from bread) Saturday begin to prep it all and set the house up

Sunday pack Oscar and hubby to MIL for the morning before getting all food done and some decorations up ready to cater for everyone all day Sunday !

In between that hopefully house viewings !!! Argh

Busy busy busy Bex! Big birthday though.

I cried when I turned 30. It was the same day as my sisters wedding and I was bridesmaid!lol

Hi everyone :) had a massive busy weekend, was at a music festival and Ruri spent a night with my mum. Now up to torrential rain!! Thinking if going to get a jumperoo today!?

Sounds like you'll be kept on your toes this week, Bex! We aren't sure what to do about a christening - my sister is due in November and there's been talk of a joint naming ceremony? I'm just not sure!

Oh and we almost had a full roll over yday! He just needs to master moving his arm that last wee bit!

I'm not doing a christening - might change my mind after baby number 2 but we don't go to church so I just don't see the point. We have plenty of people around us to look after Thomas without the need for god parents . But I respect those that do it cause I do think it's a really nice thing.

Well I'm not religious as such and it hadn't really entered my head. I would like Ruri's godmother to become official but I'm not even sure how you go about a naming ceremony!

I think you'd ask them, get a celebrant to do it either at your home with people or a venue and if you wanted them to he guardians If something happened to you, write it into your will.

Hubby and I need to make a will now we have Thomas, I want him to be brought up where we live but we don't really have anyone with our mindset that lives here that we are close to. Our closest friends are in London and northampton and sil isn't close either!

I keep asking OH to get a will sorted. He's older than me and has two children already. I know so many people who's partners have passed suddenly (MIL included) and no updated will has been prepared.

I keep thinking about it but haven't done anything. I really need to look into it now. We have both sets of parents living near us, but i'm trying to think abit more long term as my parents are in their 70's. Although they love him to pieces I don't know whether they would want to have a small child running around all the time. That's why i'm trying to sort out guardians that would be close to where we are.

It's such an emotional thing, I find it hard
