decided to start painting the bumps room today as we find out next Thurs if she will be arriving early as I have a dangerously low level of amniotic fluid, its sitting at an AFI of only 5

I know that even if she comes early she wont get home for ages but I thought that it is a good idea to get everything ready as we will be busy with school runs and trips to the hospital.

I feel glad that we have everything in that we need right down to the bottles xx

Really sorry to hear you're having a worrying time and fingers crossed for you for next Thurs. What causes the low levels of amniotic fluid?

x

Oh my goodness, what a worrying thing. I hope that everything turns out well for you and baby doesnt come too early - can they do anything about the levels of fluid at all?

You would think with moderen science - that they could inject more fluid into the bag or something
This is still such a tricky time for you. How will they tell or what will make them decide , did they explain more?
I will be thinking of you next week when you find out Hun X

hi girls normally the baby is not growing or there is a problem with the babys kidneys thats why the fluid would be low cause most of the fluid is the babys pee, but they checked them both and she is the right size and also her kidneys were fine so they think I might be leaking fluid but done an internal and there was no sign of any leaks, so the scan is firstly to check if he levels are going up and if not then they will talk more about it then.

they arent willing to discuss anything til im 6 months which is shocking I think, I have read online that there is a saline injection that you can get to fill up the fluid so if its still low I will be asking about that, I will keep in touch.

i always knew my bump was so small and that is why and also I have felt proper kicks from around 15weeks and that is why cause there is hardly any fluid in there, i have been signed off work now and prob wont be back til after my maternity but its soooo boring in the house. thanks for asking girls xx

Awww hun such a worrying time :(

I will keep all crossed for you and bubs

Hope you get some good news on your next appointment!!

sorry to hear that dear..I am sure all will be ok and the lil girl will stay completely fine..keep us posted..I just think 6 months is too long cant you ask them to see you a bit early and do something about it?

I hope eveything goes well
At the scan and the fluid increases x

my lovely midwife managed to get the consultnant to see us tomorrow so that we can at least get some answers as to what the outcomes can be. then we have our scan next Thursday, she is still kicking away so thats reassuring xx

Really glad you're able to see consultant, and good that baby is still kicking away - she obviously doesn't want her mum worrying :) xx

I am so nervous about going to more but glad that I can ask all the questions that I need to ask, thanks everyone, I will let you all know how I get on xx

Hope all goes well for and dont be panicing too much x My little boy was born at 32 weeks and was in special care where he was looked after perfectly no reason was ever given but he is now 8 years old and the life and soul of the house. Hopefully they will give you more answers when you see them next. At my 20 week scan I was told my Placenta was lying very low to be honest I read the internet stories and scared the life out of myself, but I understand how worrying the wait is as we have to wait to the 30 week scan to see what will happen x
