Ex chartstalkers pg or just taking a break!

Yes the viewing went well, I loved it... OH hated it  But its me whos there all the time and walking everwhere so unless I find somewhere just as suitable very soon hes going to have to put up with it

Babydust hes gorgeous!!!

ROM I love you nursery, looks very nice! lucky George

Hi ladies!

So glad that the bleeding has stopped for you Kitty. Surely your LO has given you enough grief for a liftetime now! I hope this means he/she will be a perfect teenager. Your post about living through me made me chuckle. I always say the same thing to my single girlfriends, I live a single life through them, pick out the most handsome men in the nightclub for them, pretty much force them into speaking to them, its all for my benefit of course as I havent flirted with anyone for so long *sigh* but I know I always win as if they dont find the man of their dreams that night, I know i always end up going home to the man of my dreams :) Alas my partying days are over for now though Kitty, Im on a major diet and Im seriously saving for the wedding so no more night of debauchery until at least the second weekend of August!

ROM - your nursery looks absolutely gorgeous, I could snooze in there myself its so cosy!

Claire - Zak is so handsome, I bet he has the most gorgeous feeling padded bottom, there is nothing nicer than patting a nappied bottom is there! So glad he is ok after your hour of hell, you must have been absolutely terrified.

Tasha - good luck with the house hunting if you dont go for the one you like!

Trudy - I promise I wont tell anyone about your maternity trousers, hehe. C'mon ladies show us your bumps! :cheer:

Well Im truly back into the wedding spirit now and I need to ask your opinions please girls! Right I want a birdcage veil, as ROM knows already - thank you very much for pointing me towards one on ebay! What do you think of them? I think they look very vintage, but I know that there is the risk of looking a bit silly. Im going for a 1940's hollywood starlet sort of look for the wedding.

birdcage2.jpg

Im still not sure what to do with my hair, I could have an Audrey Hepburnesque updo or go for a more Marilyn Monroe curl look as in the second pic, or perhaps even just have a very plain perfect bob? What do you think?

This is my dress again by the way, do you think a birdcage veil would suit it?

myjasminadress.jpg

Oh Babydust poor you. Glad all is okay now though. He is absolutely gorgeous I just want to snuffle those cheeks!!!

Tasha - hope you find a house you like soon if you don't get this one.

ROM - I LOVE the nursery! :cheer: If it's not too cheeky where did you get the cupboard/changing table from it's fab? Just My kind of quirky without being OTT. DH cleared out the back bedroom. I'm too scared to call it a nursery yet. We had a daybed that changed into a bed for guests so that's now in the lounge as we needed more seating anyway, but I keep finding myself in there imagining where the crib will go, etc... Must stop! Ages to go yet!!!

You kept DDs new man quiet, details details! I love a good romance.

Now the best til last! I love a good wedding. Loola you have so got to have a birdcage veil! If you want the full 40s look then you can't beat the waved hair look a la pic number 2. I do love a bit of Hepburn though, but they were works of art on their own. I guess if you're planning to take it off later then you'd get 2 looks for the price of one.

The dress will definitely go with the birdcage veil. Ooooo so exciting!!! You could have a gangsters and molls theme, I know I know 1920's, I'll stop now and focus on you again. Just like Kitty is living through your partying, I'm living through your wedding. :D I'd love to get married again and do it completely my way this time. You are going to look beautiful, you have the right face and hair to carry it off perfectly. I can't wait to see the pics.

I will post my bump pic as I'm starting weekly bump pics from now until D(elivery) day. Then I'm taking them to a place by us where you can get any picture made like a mosaic of other pics. So I'll have a pic of LO made up of it growing week by week. Like these http://www.designamosaic.com/samples Too naff do you think or a nice momento?

Thank your ladies for letting me off the Mat trousers so easily  (except Kitty! ) I felt such a hypocrite in H&M, so bloomin comfy though. Their sizing is weird, I'm definitely a 12 and I was struggling getting the 14 past my kness! Still 2 pairs for £10 can't argue with that. I got a sensible black pair for work and some great flared jeans. Mmmm Kitty that Jojomamanbebe sale's got cheaper since I last looked. Only 4 more days til pay day. *sigh*

I did love the dresses you got. That purple grecian one is gorgeous. A definite for the wedding. I can understand why you don't want to wait. I'd wear it to Asda it's so lovely! :) Just make sure you don't wear it where any of your family are going to be. I'm sure they'd understand there are only so many dresses a pg lady can splash out on!

Hello to all the new mum's I'm sure you're all lurking but have you're hands well and truly full.

Hello to Sookie and Anna. Hope I've not missed anyone.

 Thanks all, yes I hope I find somewhere very soon, the agreement is up here in March so need to be out in feb if im going to move.

Loola I love that style of veil!! infact its just what I want when I get married (me and OH planning for 2012)
I think it would look lovely with the dress

Trudy I got my jeans from topshop (MOTO) they have the stretch bands on the sides and go under the bump, I love them they are so comfy.

I hope Sookie is keeping well, hope to hear from you soon hun

How is everyone this evening? anymore bump pics yet?!

Thanks for your opinions ladies! and I have bought a birdcage veil! the only 1 I could find in the UK was from ebay, as shown to me by Jane (thanks again!) so I look forward to playing around with that when it arrives. Im just looking for a lovely feathery flowery fascinator and possibly vintage brooch to pin to it now. :cheer: Eeek! Im excited! im already having sleepless nights thinking about it!

Ive also booked a room for our wedding night at Morgans hotel, the only 5* hotel in Swansea, which is just across the road from the venue, and I think the room is in theme with the 1940s style:

http://www.morganshotel.co.uk/room_benjaminboyd.php

Its £150 for the night! but its a one off.

:cheer: Ooo show us a picky when you get it!

I'm sure it will be worth the £150 on the first night of Mr and Mrs

OOoOOo and I have just spotted Kmac down there in veiwers!

Hope your ok hunny!

hi everyone

just saying a quick hello. I am around again just finding things a bit tricky.
Obviously the whole birth experience didn't go to plan at all, and obviously I am chuffed to bits with Kian but I just haven't slept since I went into hospital (apart from when I was drugged up!).
So now we are home everything seems more difficult to deal with. I am trying to BF but it's not going too well so far, I'm in agony already and I don't think I'm giving the poor thing enough.
So all in all feeling a bit sorry for myself!

I have had a quick look through all your posts but my brain is mush.
I hope everything is still ok with you Kitty

Will be back soon in a hopefully better mood!
xx

Hey Kirsty, great to see you hun! Things are bound to be a bit crazy, its quite a life changing experience Im sure and you are bound to be shattered and sore, so dont fret, it will all get better in time, and if BF doesnt work out then it really doesnt matter, Im sure you are doing absolutely brilliantly!

 Kirstie - after your epic time I am not surprised you are feeling a bit sorry for yourself!!! I think you deserve a medal - but just look at that beautiful little boy and I am sure it will all settle down soon

Loola I think that veil will look stunning :D

Trudy we bought the furniture off ebay :) it was a John Lewis range we think from a couple of years ago - to be honest when Dave picked it up it was a bit shabby but in all fairness he has worked so hard with it - spend hours sanding it all down and then repainting it all. He is usually useless at DIY but this was a real labour of love for him :D :D :D

 Kmac after having been through a c sec after all that I am not suprised you feel the way you do, but what I do have to say is though is please do not think you have not got enough milk.

In the early days (mainly the first 6 weeks) your supply is establishing and a newborn will constantly feed to build up your supply, you are both starting from scratch so to speak, and by 6 weeks that will settle.

Heres a fantastic site I really recommend for you
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/start/concer ... ction.html

There are also some nursing positions to make it more comfortable for you.

Please also when your feeling well enough or get your OH to find otu where you local breastfeeding supporter is, some of them will do home visits too to help out.

 Your doing very well, but if you do decide its too much and you want to stop , welldone on giving him that first bit of colostrum its a wonderful gift to give your baby

Thanks

MW came round today - Kian has lost too much weight so we've to top him up with formula for a while until things get going properly.
It's not ideal but obviously I don't want him to keep losing weight.
We had a bit of a better night last night, I did get a bit of sleep, so slightly less tearful today.
I just can't concentrate on anything.

 Oh I so remember feeling like that, I started co slepping around this time as it got too much for me, but its not for everyone, theres lots of mummies that do and done right is perfectly safe and fantastic for bfing.

Hun just out of interest how much weight did he loose?

Here is a chart and information for bfing babies on weight loss for breastfed babies.

http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/gr ... -gain.html

A 5-7% weight loss during the first 3-4 days after birth is normal. A 10% weight loss is sometimes considered normal, but this amount of weight loss is a sign that the breastfeeding needs to be evaluated. It's a good idea to have a routine weight check at 5 days (baby should be gaining rather than losing weight by day 5), so that any developing problems can be caught and remedied early.

Baby should regain birth weight by 10 days to 2 weeks. If your baby lost a good bit of weight in the early days, or if your baby is sick or premature, it may take longer to regain birth weight. If baby does not regain birth weight by two weeks, this is a sign that the breastfeeding needs to be evaluated.

As you are very exhausted and tierd I can imagine lots of information will be overwhelming for you, I just want to say that I am sure your booby milk is more than enough, but follow the midwifes advice and see how you get on at the next weigh in, it may end up hes over what he would be a breastfed baby and you will be able to drop the formula, but that depends on how much he has lost, its not uncommon for them to loose quite abit, I know Olivia did and by the next weigh in she was back on birth weight and more after her marathon feeding!

 im here if you need to chat

 to all. Just popping in to see what's going on - can't post properly cos parents are here and I am supposed to be working whilst they wash the kitchen floor (mother) and move furniture (father)

fab pics of ROM's nursery and of Zak. Looking forward to seeing Loola model the veil.

Babydust -   hope all's well now. I don't like to think about how worried you must have been.

kmac - lots of  to you too. The most important thing right now is that Kian gets fed, one way or another, and that you get better, one way or another. You've had a major operation, you're bound to feel crap. Don't worry about the minor stuff.

Claire we got the silvercross 3d too - It looks so cute :D Chilli was very hot but we all enjoyed it :D I've been spoilt to death today - was feeling really sorry for myself as I am really swollen down below and finding walking quite difficult at the moment - anyway one of my friends is a qualified reflexologist and she turned up this afternoon to do my feet - it was bliss and I ended up fast asleep when she had gone :D Then my other friend came over for dinner and has spent the last 2 hours giving me a pedicure and painting my toe nails :D :D feel all girlie again now :D

Kirstie it is early days yet honey - it takes a while for little ones to establish feeding routines - I am planning to do what Claire said - expressing so Dave can do the late feed but hopefully feeding him during the day and early evening......

Hope everyone else is OK

Jane x

Hi all

kmac, congrats on the birth of Kian :cheer: and  for the feeding. My LO is mix fed (one bottle of formula a day up until mid-dec, now two bottles a day, breastfed the rest of the time). He didn't put on his birth weight quick enough and doesn't breastfeed very effectively as he feeds for 45mins to an hour every two hours - which makes it a bit difficult to get anything done during the day. The formula helps to give me a break as he drinks it within 10-15mins and is full for longer and he digests it slower than breastmilk. I think the key to feeding is finding what works for you and your bubs. Also I think I cried for about the first three weeks after the birth - baby blues are not fun

ROM, love the nursery pictures :D Hope your feet feel better

babydust, aww love the recent pics of Zac and what a lovely pram :D

Kitty, glad all is ok with you and the LO, yay for parents coming over and doing stuff :cheer:

Tasha, I love the kellymom site, it has really good info on breastfeeding :D

Loola, I think the birdcage veil looks great and will really compliment your dress :D The hotel looks amazing too - lucky you and your OH

Trudy, I love your bump mosaic idea, I think it looks great. And yay for maternity trousers (I am still in mine  )!

I've probably missed people sorry  Hope you are all well.

Just thought I'd post a pic of Oz for baby stalking purposes ;) - I am trying to take some really nice ones that I can make a photo book out of for OH's birthday. Unfortunately our house is very dingy and even when it is sunny, the sun only comes in one room for an hour or so a day which is quite annoying. I think it is a bit too cold at the moment to try a tasteful nappy only shot outside

HI everyone

Just popping in to say hello and congrats to Kmac on the birth of Kian (lovely name). Sorry to hear that it was a stressful experience    I'm sure you're doing really well and things should settle down soon. From all accounts breastfeeding can be difficult so cut yourself some slack. My DH never had a drop of breastmilk and he is fine! Great in fact.

A big hi to Sadi, Loola and ROM who have all popped by my facebook page to say hi. You're lovely ladies! I've been off computers/internet in general atm, but PF especially. I find it too much to think about. I seem to have gone off the whole ttc thing, as we didn't even try this month. DH wants to next month so we'll see how I'm feeling. I feel fine, just not keen to jump back on the horse, so to speak.

Anyway, I often think about you all and hope that you are well. Kitty and Sadi, hope that your pregnancies are going well. ROM, you must be due soon? Tasha yours is moving along too. Mildly, Oscar is just adorable.

I'll pop in again soon.

xx

have you tried liminsol for your nipples? worked wonders for me when my nips were sore and cracked it worked over night too and the next day tehy wern't so sore

Hello all! Great to see you Sookie. Don't be too hard on yourself we all understand what you're going through. We won't forget you don't you worry. Especially with all the cute pics/vids of Ziggy. I gave Cooper a strong talking to last night as he ate my usb cable so I can't post any bump pics from my phone. If he can't roll over and eats useful things anymore he'll just have to go I told him. I think he understood as he peed on my foot!  I hope I'm better with kids.

I've been stressing about prams but seem to have settled on one now. Babydust your pram looks lovely.

How exciting, not long now ROM. Isn't Dave sweet doing all that work on the cupboard. Still waiting for details on Hans romance! Do you need to buy a hat yet? Glad you got the chance to be pampered before it all kicks off.

Kmac I hope the advice from the other girls helps and that things are getting easier.

Mildly - you still need to change that avatar! I can't believe how much Oscars grown. So adorable.

Hello everyone else! Scan tomorrow. Eeek. Ma and pa are up for it. I'm glad they can be part of it but I'll be wanting to kill them after 24 hours. I just want them to move up here so that they can see us whenever they want, but then go home!

I'll try and dig out the USB cable for my camera and post a pic now that Coops eaten the one for the phone. It's a good thing he's cute.
