***December babies! Tri 2 :) ***

Yeah , I hoped they would but I didn't know if some blood tests wouldn't be done. You'd think so! I wouldn't have had any further tests if I'd been high risk, but I think I just like to know and have it in my head that there's less chance if I'm not high risk. Still, the baby could well be that 1 in 1151.

X

Gems that's so awful. I can't begin to process it and even imagine what I'd have done in that situation. It does serve to prove that doctors etc are not always right. I shudder at the thought. Obviously if she had terminated the pregnancy she'd never have known the baby was ok but it must be awful looking back. X

I had the screening but to be honest I thought it was all included in getting the patau/edwards check, I haven't had my results yet but I don't know how long they take to process.

It's 2-3 days to process as you'd get a call after 3 days ish (though mine was 2 days) for high risk and a week for the letter if it's low risk X

I got told I'd hear within a week if I was high risk and 2-3 weeks if low risk. It's been almost 2 weeks now and I've not had anything so unless my letter has gone missing I must be low risk.

What's everyone doing regarding clothes? I've gotten huge in the last week and need to buy new things but I don't know whether to buy maternity tops or just get more floaty normal tops.

My letter came back a week after I had the bloods saying low risk. She told me it would be 2-3 weeks so I was surprised it was so quick!

I had to buy maternity jeans the other day. I got a size 12 but they're massive! All my jeans still fit me well but because I'm carrying so low this time they're sitting in the middle of my bump and it's getting a bit uncomfortable. I've bought a few bigger sized tops but not quite in them yet. I've got a size 8 jumper on today and it's getting tighter round my tummy so may have to give up with after this  I'm hoping not to buy maternity tops and just stick to floaty ones but I'll have no choice with the jeans soon. I'm not a leggings girl but might give them a try too! Xx

Weekend!! This week at work has been exhausting. 4 more weeks till the end of Term. I definitely felt better in my 2nd trimester with Elin, but this time the combo of end of term exhaustion, growing a baby and looking after a 3 year old and the insane pollen count is taking its toll.

Our official line with family and friends is 'we're not finding out the gender' but we've booked a scan on the 15th!! Then I will wait till the NHS one and hopefully the two sonographers will say the same gender! I know they don't often get it wrong, but I know of someone who was told girl at her 20 week then had another scan at 32 weeks to see if her placenta had moved from her cervix to have a sonographer say 'did you say you're having a girl, because what I can see very clearly between the legs says otherwise!!' She had a little boy!

Thank god for the weekend - 3 weeks till the end of term for me and just 200 A Level exams to mark - my mantra is just think of the money!!

Today at work people were commenting on my growing bump and one girl piped up and said 'I couldn't do that to myself it looks hideous to be that fat'. She was lucky I was feeling relatively calm and could laugh it off!!!

Claire! What?! It's not fat it's a bump and the most special thing you can do to bring another life into the world and something some people would do anything for, want the most and can't. Argh I don't like people!!!

I'm bursting out of my normal clothes but that's because I've put nearly three stone on in just over a year! Rather than the bump itself, though I'm showing very early. It's weird having a big bump at some points of the day as if it's just bloating, when I didn't have a hint of a bump at 20 weeks with my daughter. I have major bloating issues, especially when I stand up, so to be fair I was this bloated when I wasn't pregnant. I've bought a few maternity bits from Asda and I'm going to look to see what'll fit me from last time. I love those trendy baggy trousers so that's handy! Haha X

Joey that's why I'm terrified of finding out - them getting the gender wrong! X

Joey that's what we're doing, we have a private one booked for the 14th. I had a 16 week scan last time and it's very obvious if baby is cooperating and we were told that if they weren't sure then they'd rescan us.

Claire you are very restrained I would have probably got mad or cried, probably cried!!
I'm having a proper crisis at the moment with weight, with my sons pregnancy I was only 8 months out from gastric bypass surgery so I still lost weight but being pregnant and hugry stretched my tummy again. So I'm already gaining weight and I'm feeling uncomfortable, I'm still a size 20 with lots of excess skin so I don't get bumps I just look fatter.

But least it's the weekend!

Morning ladies!

I had my dating scan yesterday and they've dated me as 23 December, need to update my ticker now, doh! Can't say it was an enjoyable experience, baby wasn't cooperating and had to go for a wee, a walk etc. I couldn't believe how crap the quality of the scan view was compared to the private scan I'd paid for. I couldn't work out what was what, baby looked more like a crab  my photo I got last week is so clear by comparison.

I'm starting to bust out of clothes too now, I didn't show till after 20 weeks with my daughter, no chance of that this time, especially when with me carrying an afternoon bloat/food baby. I need some decent skinny jeans (as I wear jeans to work), everything I try on is baggy, any ideas?

Have a good weekend!

Amy x

Aww pleased all is ok pickle. Sorry the scan wasn't as hoped.

When you find out let me know as most of my tops aren't long enough for leggings so I need jeans too!!! X

Everyone's been quite recently, how are you all doing?

I feel like time is really dragging. 16+2 today. I know some of you ladies have early gender scans coming up, I'm so excited. I think it's dragging for me because we aren't finding out the sex, so I'm just waiting for the end haha! So impatient xx

Hi ladies,

It has been quiet, did everyone have a nice weekend?

I had a break from vomiting on Saturday, it was heavenly to feel and eat like a human again. Come Sunday afternoon I couldn't get away from the bathroom again! Having that break was so lovely but such a horrible tease. I really thought I was maybe getting by this!

Karleigh I feel the same, we aren't finding out either and because of this vomiting, part of me feels like I've been pregnant for 4 years!!

Maternity clothes the jeans are awful. I'm usually a 10-12 so went into new look and thought I'd go for 12 to count for me getting bigger but they're huge everywhere. Nearly every pair were like boot cut at the ankle too they were so baggy, I felt like I was back in 2001!! I found one pair that were not quite skinny but not baggy at the ankle either so I just got them. If anyone finds really good proper skinny maternity jeans please tell me!!

Can I ask you all what you're planning to do about maternity leave? Working till when and taking how long off? Xx

Phew glad I'm not he only one struggling with the jeans, what is it with the baggy ankles and bootcut jeans!?? I'd happily pay more money as I'm going to wear them to work a lot but I just can't find any!!

Have a good week everyone x

I have no idea, they're ugly and it's extremely annoying!! I'll keep on the hunt though and let you know if I find any xx

Ladies - if you're looking for good/trendy maternity skinny jeans, definitely head for Topshop. The ones named 'Jamie' are the ones that fit me best. I haven't bought any this time around yet but I will do. I've just stocked up on maternity leggings from H&M xx

Thanks for the jean recommendations! I definitely need to treat myself to some. Living in leggings at home but have manly legs so I don't usually wear them out. Today I've stuck my bump band on over my bum instead of the bump so I feel less exposed and so comfy!
