***December babies! Tri 2 :) ***

Hi ladies,

I'm 13 weeks today, do you think I could cheat and join you now? Everywhere else says I'm in second tri so I'm hoping to ignore the way this site does it

Hoping I start to see a difference in the vomiting soon and get that tri 2 'glow'

Xx

So exciting that some of us are finding out the gender already! I don't wamt to fimd out until the birth, my partner wants to find out at the 20 week scan. We have 6 more weeks to discuss it.
Last night my partner surprised me by buying a little outfit for the baby in size 0-3 months. I put it on my stomach and suddenly the cute little baby clothes don't seem to be so small anymore. And that size doesn't even show the head! Partner tried to reason with me that the baby will be all folded up in there. Eek. Anyway this morning he got dressed and I realised he was wearing the adult male version of the baby outfit, same colour and collar pattern. Haha! I thought it was so sweet, he wants the baby to dress like him!
I'm still stuck in bed but managed to get up for about 5 minutes twice yesterday without collapsing in a vomiting heap. Hopefully this is a sign I will be back to normal soon!

MrsS15 are you on anything to try to control the vomiting? I'm using ondansatron, cyclizine and stemetil and still feel sick almost all the time. My partner is currently trying to sort out my medication before I run out of cyclizine at lunchtime. He picked up the prescription last night and got home and it was wrong, he went back today to change it, and it turns out the doctor has actually written the wrong thing on the prescription. I'm starting to get a bit worried now because if I go off my meds I am worried about how awful my symptoms will get.

It's supposed to start improving soon, i just keep praying that it does! For both of us!

Anyone else in December mums still struggling with nausea or vomiting?

Hey ladies,

15+4 today and met my consultant today! Having blood tests every 4 weeks to see if OC will show its face again as I'm itching constantly. Will be seeing her at 32 weeks to discuss whether I'm going to go natural or have a section. Also found out I have Strep B, so I'll have to have antibiotics when I go into labour so it isn't passed onto baby xx

We've not bought a single thing yet! I'm waiting until we've had our gender scan next week but I'm so nervous to buy anything I know that sounds really weird...
I've not had any nausea since about 12 weeks but I've had it quite easy in tri 1 just lack of appetite and tired but no sickness, hope you all start feeling better soon. X

Oh they've moved me forward a day. I mean what's the point really haha. Can you put me down for the 9th of December instead of the 10th xx

Hi skyeway,

I'm on cyclizine and ondansatron. I was told to only take the ondansatron when I was really struggling to function. I wasn't managing to get out of bed some days though so I spoke to the GP and I'm taking the ondansatron regularly alongside the cyclizine and I'm seeing some slight improvements. I have another child and just couldn't go on the way I was, when he was hungry or needed a bath etc I was crying at the thought of trying to move myself and do basic things like that for him. I've been in hospital for fluids and just couldn't keep doing that (although I probably should have been there more but wouldn't go). It's been the hardest thing I've ever done! I had my sons sports day yesterday which I managed to go to and it was lovely. I just sat in the sun throughout it but mentally I felt so good at being able to be there for him.

I really hope you get your meds sorted soon. I would feel the same if I never had them on hand! I don't think doctors realise how much we're reliant (unfortunately)

I so hope there's not long left of this for us xxx

Karleigh, I'm glad they're looking after you. I'm glad they've found the strep b early too so you'll be well looked after in labour! I've got a consultant appointment on the 4th of July, never seen a consultant in my previous pregnancy so not sure what to expect.

We haven't bought anything either, we really needed to start getting bits in as we're totally starting from scratch. We aren't finding out the sex either so makes it a bit harder to be totally organised!! Xx

Thanks Hun. Have they told you why you've been referred to see the consultant? xx

Because it's an ivf pregnancy. I never realised it would make me under consultant care but the midwife said I'm at risk of slow growth and placenta not working as well towards the end so I'll need regular scans and induced on my due date if I haven't went before. I don't know what first appointment will be about, I'll only be 14+6 and they wanted me to be 16 weeks but Im going on holiday so it would be either 14+6 or nearly 18. What do they do at 16 week appointment? Xx

Leah I feel like we've been twinned up on this whole journey all the way through! This sounds exactly like what they've said to me - except without the IVF, possible growth/placenta issues. So....fingers crossed after our 20 weeks scans that we have ourselves some big babies in there!

Isn't it first proper midwife session after your booking in? Heartbeat, re-check of urine, possible bloods again, measurements, weight etc. Just a progress check?

Aww I hope the dizziness eases Claire - it's something I deal with daily and it's very exhausting and debilitating.

Yes I think the 16 week check is heartbeat (if your midwife does it), blood pressure, chat about screening and previous bloods, urine check, maybe more blood tests?

I'm feeling really strange at the moment...I think it's this whole placenta/slow growth thing. I hope the 20 week scan shows everything is ok. I just keep thinking the placenta is going to pack in altogether. Silly I know. I know it's later on the growth could be an issue, but if the placenta isn't functioning properly I've convinced myself my baby might've died. I know that sounds ridiculous. I really hope my midwife will check for the heartbeat next week X

I feel very lucky that my consultant quickly scanned me and let me listen to babies heartbeat. It was so so lovely, just wish Anthony could have been there too.

Got our 16 week appointment next Thursday afternoon! xx

Ooh mine is Tuesday afternoon next week. Fingers crossed for a lovely midwife! My one from 2013-2014 is on maternity leave and I had a stand in plus student for booking in appointment! X

Fingers crossed Vic! My midwife is lovely, thank god. She literally lives 2 roads away from me as well so I always see her in Tesco hahaha!

Have any of you felt movement yet? I have been feeling some in the evenings. Especially a lot of rolling xx

Hi, that's me had my 16 week appointment today, all they did was check urine, take my blood pressure and measure my little bump, was only in for 10mins. Said they wouldn't check heart beat until next appointment at 24 weeks which was a bit disappointing. I asked about registering for the baby box so got a form for that.
Now just counting down until my 20 week scan and seeing my wee baby again.
I also need to start buying stuff, first baby so I have nothing but I have no clue where to start, it's quite overwhelming working out what I need.

Sorry if this is a bit tmi but as a first time mum everything is freaking me out a bit!

Today I have been getting like sharp twinges in my vaginal area, just like a quick 2 second pain and then it goes. Is this normal? Been having lots of stomach aches in general too. Is this normal?

Claireyt - they're called fanny daggers, just fantastic aren't they. Completely normal xx

Thank you ladies!

The heat is so tricky with work isn't it? My classroom is so hot - imma teacher.

I'm not very good on forums - haven't used before - so sorry if imnsporadic with replies!

I've also had the ' fanny daggers' and googled too!

Haha imo, I used to teach but haven't been able to for years due to ill health. Remember how hot the classroom was though!

Oh the fanny daggers! That's what my SPD was like (in that place!), only really painful and constant.

Oh Debz...it is overwhelming. We were in a daze after looking at pushchairs and car seats in Mothercare for an hour! Though I miss it now...so enjoy! Just make lists of different sections - nursery, clothing, bathing, out and about, feeding etc. Mothercare have a good list in their app X
