***December babies! Tri 2 :) ***

Has anyone experienced any migraines during pregnancy, I thought I'd been lucky and missed out on that one but no last night was dreadful. I am a sufferer anyway and my go to medicine is always ibuprofen but you can't have that during pregnancy. Pain has died down a bit now but still feeling dizzy and nauseous.

Any tips??

Thanks CLL! Literally just popped.

Claire - my migraines are horrific. I've had one for the past 3 days, my whole head felt like it was going to explode. Luckily easing off now. I have no tips. All you can take is paracetamol, lots and lots of water and sleep xx

I've got my 12 week scan on Wednesday so I'll update my due date then, it's changed 3 times so far!

Lovely bump lulu, I'm definitely starting to get one.

Claire I've started getting the migraines over the last 5 days. I can't even drink loads to help clear them as I'm puking it back up. I've been in my bed since 8pm yesterday and haven't managed to get out yet between the vomiting and migraines. I really hoped to avoid them but I think the dehydration is making them worse xx

My podge lol hoping it gets a bit more bump like soon, just looks like bloating to me !

I don't usually get any headaches, but felt awful about a week ago. Just had to lie in a darkened room!

Lulu90 and MrsS15 sorry to hear you've been going through this too - although it is reassuring to know it's not just me! I went to the pharmacist this morning and he suggested an ice pack on the back of your neck, I've had it on this afternoon and it has eased it quite a bit, so it might be worth a go??

13 weeks today!! 1/3 of the way there as baby will be a section delivery, so I'm thinking that will be at around 39 weeks. Feeling a lot happier after seeing my very wriggly little baby. All that time worrying when I had 'lack of symptoms' and I should have been enjoying it! I'm not loving the 3-4 trips a night for a wee though.

We had our little one at the hospital with us on Friday and she did fairly well. I think the vending machine helped! She really liked seems the scan and it's helped her understand more. We went shopping yesterday and picked up a little bodysuit from Next.

Welcome to the tri 2 group! Something about being in tri 2 makes it all feel a bit more real. :)

Great bumps ladies! I dare not show my bare belly :)

Claire paracetamol and water as already suggested. I sometimes alternate between a cold and warm compress on my head dependent on what feels nicest. Also I find Forehead really helpful sometimes (you know the little stick you rub on your forehead? It's a few quid in most chemists/supermarkets).

Anyone struggling with sleep? I'm out like a light at night and then am waking up between 4.30 and 5 every morning. So frustrating, I'm knackered. I suffer frequently with insomnia but it's usually at night x

Had my scan this morning, due date is now the 19th December. All is well, very chilled out so going to be like its daddy. DD was all over the place at 12 week scan, this one just laid on its side facing us! So excited now! 20 week scan booked in for the 4th august- just to decide whether we're going to find out or not! I don't want too, DH does! Xxx

Candy my candy - I'm having the same sleep problem. I wake up around 4 and that's me for around an hour/hour and a half. I don't usually have any sleep problems.

Hi all,

Interesting you saying about sleeping. I am waking up around 4am and wide awake too. What are our babies trying to tell us?? Don't get used to the lie in mum lol

Great news GF91. I'm waiting for my scan date in the post. I've had to tell the scan dept that I'm away from 26th July till 8th August! (Which is 19+3 till 21+2) -oops. So I'll either get it just before at 19 weeks or just after at about 21.5 weeks. With my first, I had my anomaly scan at exactly 19 weeks and she was a little monkey - would not move! So they couldn't see all the heart chambers. We had to go again at about 22 weeks to see if she'd moved.

Why do I do it?

I googled my NT measurement. It was 2.9mm which was a bit higher than I wanted, but she ensured me that it was under 3.5mm, so normal. Well I googled it and read that 9 in 10 babies with an NT measurement between 2.9 and 3.5 will be fine. That still means 1 in 10 aren't!! I know I've got to wait for the combined result to get my overall risk, but now I'm working myself up! Hoping I hear nothing this week as they said it would probably be back in 3 working days if there was an issue.
I wish I hadn't Googled as I don't even know the overall risk yet, so have just stressed myself out!!

This is exactly why I didn't opt for the screening. I could get a score of 1 in 30, go through the stress & worry of an amnio & everything be fine, or I could have a score of 1 in 40000 and be that 1. It's too much of a worry for me! If I could afford it then I would have the harmony & have a definite answer Xxx

Can I join over here now too? 12 week scan yesterday which puts our due date at Dec 21st.

The screening is just one more thing for us to worry about! We had ours yesterday and don't have any real reason to worry but until the results come through it will be in the back of my mind. Fingers crossed we all end up low risk.

Looks like headaches might be a thing for this stage, I've had one since Saturday, paracetamol eases it but then it just comes back. Could be dehydration causing it as I'm struggling to drink enough with the nausea.

I think that knowing can put you into a difficult situation as well. I know of a woman who had a low risk for chromosonal defects, but gave birth to a child with down syndrome saying that if she had of known she may not have proceeded with the pregnancy and she was so glad she didn't know. But saying that I got the tests done, knowing that I would keep the baby regardless and my partner thought itis better to know so we can prepare. Haven't got my score back yet, but the measurement was within normal range and I'm 29 so don't think I will be high risk.

Such a difficult thing to consider, raising a child with a disability.

Glad all the scans are going well.

I had some jelly like discharge this morning but it was brown, thought it may be my plug so I went into the EPU. Baby is absolutely fine and gorgeous, 14+2 now. Said that it's actually completely normal but not everyone gets it. Cervix is very red but again, very normal in pregnancy. Had the worlds most painful speculum! Ouch. At home relaxing now while the toddler sleeps xx
