****December 2014 mums to be! Christmas babies!!*****

My second midwife appointment is 16 weeks - that seemed to be what they said was standard.

Who is updating the front page I've just booked my gender scan for 4th July!!! X

Mine is 17 weeks she originally offered 16 weeks but I couldn't do that date and she only does them once a week x

Hi ladies!
Lilac, love your story, made me laugh!

Knopk, I've added you and Rose, I've added your gender scan.

I'm suffering with hayfever and am really irritable too. Otherwise I'm feeling so much better than I have done.

I have my 2nd appointment tomorrow except it's with the consultant as I'm classed as high risk, I'll be 16+6. Can't believe I'll be hitting 17 weeks on Thursday!

Hope everyone's doing ok today!x

Oh and Jai from what I remember this appointment is a bit of a let down in terms of excitement. They check your blood pressure, pee test, some check baby's heartbeat but I know some midwives don't do that anymore. They also ask you if you have any concerns. I remember mine was over in about 10 mins.x

I don't see my midwife until my 20 week scan and have to take a pee sample with me. Then I see her at 24 weeks so it's a long time inbetween for me compared to all of you. I already have my 24 week appointment as well as my 20 week scan x

Has anyone tried a pregnancy pillow?

I have mine and love it. Its a full body and kept if from previous pregnancy. Worth the money although I wouldnt recommend a really cheap one as the one first I had the stuffing flattened really easy so didn't help much. Deffo a top buy tho especially for later on.

Oh and I see midwife at 16 weeks which is normal around here then I have loads of extra appointments in between my monthly scans starting at 20 weeks. I was impressed tho got all my scan dates through right up to 36 weeks already.

Just had my midwife appointment, got to hear babies heartbeat, it's 150bpm, love hearing it :) Got my next midwife appointment at 23 & half weeks. Still being sick but not as much (once this morning, once last night - seems to be once or twice / day rather than 15/20 times lol) so all in all things are good!! :D

Hope everyone is ok? Xx

Glad it went well Jai!! 23 weeks will come round so quickly!!
I have mine at 2pm. I'm being a saddo and drinking loads of water so my pee looks well hydrated and I don't get a telling off like I normally do!xx

Glad the sickness is getting better too!xxx

Oh...it's great to hear baby's hb. I'm feeling baby move every evening which is lovely <3

Hope you ladies are ok. I'm hoping now that the summer is around the corner that time will pass by really fast and before I know it I will have my gender scan:)

So we are Rose83! Bump buddies!

Has anyone taken advantage of the Mamas and Papas sale? I'm seriously tempted by the Timbuktales curtains though everything else in that range is seriously expensive. The tie backs are £20 a pair and I need two lots so I don't think I'd bother with them. I want to go crazy sorting out the nursery, feel like we're running out of time already!

Hello All! I'm also feeling great. We decided not to book an early gender scan and just wait for the 20 week check up. I have my next midwife appointment at 16 weeks - although I'm still waiting for a date for this. They booked in my 20 week scan and hospital check up when I went for 12 week scan. I can't believe I'm nearly 14 weeks, before I know it I'll be 20 weeks and half way there :)

Hoping my Angel Doppler will arrive any day now :)

Glad your sickness is better Jai. Are you feeling better Rose?

Thanks for the tip about the pregnancy pillow I think I'll get one in the next few weeks when I get the opportunity to actually go near some shops (I live in the sticks). Last weekend I met my friend and she had bought me a rattle set - it was so cute I nearly cried! So far I have that and one box of pampers bought lol. Going pram window shopping next week too - super excited! My in-laws have offered to buy this for us which I wasn't expecting but feel obligied not to go to town on expense. They also still have my husbands crib which has been used for the other grandchildren and I'll be using that - it is lovely and feels even more special that it is the childs dad's crib. I feel like I'm getting there slowly with sussing everything out - it initially felt so daunting!

We've also been doing sums on how long I'll be likely to take off for maternity leave, and going back part-time. It's looking better than I originally thought so feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

x

Ahh Caraid that's so lovely that baby will be in his dads cot. Things sound very exciting for you atm with shopping & gifts :)

Talking of maternity & going back to work it would be good to hear people's plans?? I'll be taking 9 months off I think (most likely 8 maternity plus 1 months annual leave I will have saved up). But I'm unsure whether to go back on a) normal hours 37.5hrs mon-fri... Or b) still do 37.5hrs but condensed into a 4 day week.. Or c) work less hours 30hrs over a 4 day week (would love to go part time but we couldn't afford it) xx

I'm taking a year maternity leave but then going back full time unfortunately :-(

Hi ladies! Hope you're all well. Had my consultant appt today and discussed a possible vbac, they said I would be monitored closely but they wouldn't let me go past 40 weeks. I mentioned I'd love to have a vbac but the main thing holding me back is that last time the amount of blood my daughter was losing went undetected and the only reason she is here now is because I went in with reduced fetal movement. What if it happens again? She went to talk to the head consultant who agreed I'd have extra scans. So I have an extra scan at 20 weeks to check the blood flow in the cord and placenta. Then more at 24, 28 and 32 weeks. After each scan I would also have a consultation appointment. From 32 weeks they would reevaluate the situation and potentially give me more and I would be asked to come in for traces 2-3 times a week or more if I like.
So that might sound like a nightmare monitoring schedule for some of you but I'm just so relieved!!x

hi all i have a gender scan tomorrow ...eeekk exciting if any ladies want to have a guess at the gender there is a thread no the tri 2 page ...

Evening all. Hope you are all well. I'm feeling pretty good here.

Goat glad your appointment went well and you are feeling better about everything. I do have to ask though what is a vbac? Sorry it's probably a silly question x

As for maternity leave I think I will be working up as far as possible but then might only manage 6 months off before going back full time. Just for finances. But baby will be at work with me (benefits of working in a private nursery) x
