****December 2014 mums to be! Christmas babies!!*****

Afternoon ladies. Having a lovely lazy Sunday and literally counting down the hours until our scan tomorrow. 26hrs to go. How do first scans usually go? Do they find the baby right away or can it take some time? What should I expect? I'm a little nervous, I just want everything to be ok and for baby to be present and healthy.

Think I'm going to get a Doppler today! Might put my mind at rest (or worry me even more who knows?!) x

You just have to take your time with the doppler and move very slowly with it. I found a full bladder helps just now and also have to press quite firmly. The angle of the doppler also makes a difference. Once you find the heartbeat it's very easy to find again. Just finding it the first time can be harder. But I was only 12 weeks when I first used it. Today at 14 weeks I heard it much clearer xx

SparkleBug I was dated at 11+5 at my scan and they found baby straight away basically. It was amazing! It is slightly uncomfortable with a full bladder but you soon forget about that when you see baby xx

I wasn't sure what to expect either but the baby came up on the screen immediately. Good luck and let us know how it goes x

I'm so happy right now!!! :)

All this recent talk of dopplers made me think right I'm going to try again (after weeks of trying & only finding my own heartbeat not babies) but literally just a few minutes ago I felt determined to find it! I took all the advice you ladies have given on here & I had a full bladder, took my time, went really low below my knicker line and I found it straight away :D I was so surprised how low it was. Considering my bump is around my middle area babies heart was way below my little bump - It was amazing...so glad we invested in a Doppler now xx

Yay for all the Doppler success!!

Good luck for tomorrow Sparkle! So exciting!!x

Yay so glad you found it JaiandLeigh. X

On another note I'm feeling quite sore today. Must be things growing and stretching. Think I might have a bath in a bit to see if it helps ease it off any x

I've ended up stuck for the weekend at a hotel, on my own, in the Scottish countryside (so can't use Internet from phone) while I accompany kids doing outdoor activities. Fortunately I don't have to be with them, I just here in case they have Togo home or something. So this morning I woke up and couldn't get up because I was so dizzy, literally had to get back on the bed six times. It lasted for hours, at one point this afternoon I had a nap but when I lied down I felt drunk as the room was spinning so much. Also really swollen fingers today - had to force my rings off. I just want to go home but can't til about 6p tomorrow :( x

Oh Rose I'm sorry your feeling rough :( do you think it's pregnancy related or something else? The spinning room / drunk feeling doesn't sound too good? What a way to downs a weekend eh! Xx

Well I can safely say this baby doesn't have a sweet tooth! We went to a christening yesterday with an afternoon tea and I've been awake half the night with indigestion. Every time I lay down I felt sick and I don't think I've ever retched so much without being sick wish I just had been! Oh and there was diarrhea thrown in for good measure too :-( I've had heartburn after eating cake a couple of weeks ago but never as bad as last night. No more cake for this naughty baby I've got an important day at work with an inspector coming in and I can hardly keep my eyes open!

Morning ladies. Rose I hope you are feeling better, that sounds awful and will be even worse not being at home. X

Baker_Baby I can't even eat sweet things at all. Just the thought of it makes me feel queasy and I normally have such a sweet tooth. It's a bit like torture ha ha. Hope you feel better too and that everything goes well with the inspector xx

I'm just tired. Feel exhausted actually. Just hope it ends up a good week at work and a quick one x

Hi all I have been really tired too 14 weeks today yay!!!

I have been getting little itchy spots on my belly thought it was the bio oil so changed to palmers cocoa butter and its the same very confused??

Does anyone sometimes not feel pregnant? Think now I'm in the 2nd tri other than the tiredness I feel almost normal again! Can't wait to start feeling flutters and kicks will make me feel so much better!!

I was saying this to OH yesterday LHop, when I was pregnant with Harrison, being pregnant was what I thought about 24/7, but with this one, I'm so busy that if it wasn't for my tummy I think I'd forget I was actually pregnant atall lol!

I have felt the odd poke & flutter from bubba so that makes me remember pretty quickly :) x

Dating scan today! Four and a bit hours to go. I'm going to see my baby today.

Goodness.

Just managed to get some wifi on my phone as still away with the school trip. No idea what the dizziness was yesterday, can only assume it was low blood pressure. Woke up this morning feeling much better and thought 'yay hopefully that's the rubbish bit over with'...and then I threw up. Been a week since I was last sick so I suppose I can't complain that much but must not be quite out of the sicky stage yet.

I can't wait to have another scan when we do the gender one in 3 weeks - it makes me sure there is something going on in there! Definitely can't wait until I can feel movements so I can have a constant reminder everything is fine!

Hope everyone is feeling good todayx

Hello ladies! Just catching up on thread from over the weekend.

Goat - lovely news on team pink!

Rose - I hope you are ok. Look after yourself. Have you ever suffered with vertigo before? It's an inner ear problem which makes you dizzy and sick. Maybe you could mention this to your midwife to rule out?

I've tried the nutella and strawberries before - it is divine! Our strawberries are just coming in the garden so I think I will be having some of this tonight! Yum!

I've just ordered a Doppler from Argos £19.99 with free delivery. I'm umm-ing and arr-ing about booking a gender scan at 16 weeks now.... hubby and I discussed it a few weeks ago and thought we may book one, then with one thing and another, car needing some work done costing a few hundred pounds we thought maybe best to just wait until the 20 week scan. But my friend and sister in law have both told me that the private scan is lovely and well worth spending the money.... decisions, decisions now... lol

I went to the docs this morning as I was quite poorly by Friday morning with my thyroid levels and could hardly get out of bed I was so stiff and in pain. He was happy for me to keep taking my higher dose of medication and I have a blood test next week to check levels. So feeling better about that. I do feel dizzy and bit spaced out today though :-/ think it's just my body adjusting.

I can't wait until I get a proper bump, I just seem to have a middle spread, podge thing going on. I call it my 'tump' as it's not quite a 'bump' yet lol. By the evening though it's usually a 'bump' and seems to get quite huge. I've only put a pound on so far. Not sure if this is good or not. Is it a pound a week from about 20 weeks?

Yay love a good sale -thanks for the heads up Cariad Bach!

Sparklebug - how did the scan go??? Any pics :D

It's interesting to hear a few of you saying about feeling better and (except an expanding waistline) forgetting you are pregnant because these last couple of days I've had a lease of new energy! (Sorry for those of you who are stolen feeling rough!) I spent all day yesterday doing housework non stop and in tri1 I couldn't last more than 30 mins doing housework without either falling asleep or throwing up lol. OH will be please she no longer has to wait in me hand & foot (for now!!)
