Closed - old IVF thread

Hi all I'm back from egg collection and feeling rough. They were pleased with 13 follicles. So waiting for call tomo on their progress. :) so exciting :)

Welcome back Lou! :) How did it go? x

Arrr rest up GreekGirl... make sure you look after yourself today and don't do too much of anything! Great that they got all 13 for ya! Exciting times :) x

Good thanks Rea :)

Start stims on 25th :good:

Congrats Greek, fab number of eggies! Good luck for tomorrow xx

Welcome back Louise, how did everything go?

I haven't really been around much lately so where is everyone upto? Rea I see you've had your embryo put back, how are you feeling? was it a 5DT?
GGirl, just noticed you had EC today. Keeping everything crossed you get great fertilisation rate, hope you're feeling ok this afternoon.

It was good thanks Tinker :)

They seem to think that it'll work for us and then they want to go to blasties with any embryos that we do get just for the absolute best chance of any transfer implanting and if they don't make it that far, then it can be used to diagnose too.

I can't believe how soon it is now

Congrats on getting some IUIs sorted :) Are they injecting the sperm into the uterus or into the tubes? xx

Glad it went well, when will you be going back now? it has come round so quickly hasn't it?

They'll inject the sperm into the uterus, I didn't know they even inject it into the tubes. I'm looking forward to doing it to have some hope, but won't be getting my hopes up like I did for IVF as i'm well aware the success rates aren't high.

I dunno, I think the success rates of IUI are artificially low because a lot of people that try it have unknown/female issues :)

I think if your only issue if male factor that the chance should be quite high xx

Well done on your egg collection day Greekgirl - wow 13 eggs eh - fantastic!! - Good luck for your call in the morning, hope theres lots of jiggy action tonight in that lab... Take it easy, I felt rougher the next day after pain stuff had worn off, do use paracetamol if you need it.. don't suffer.. Keep drinking the water too..

Lou - wow 4 days till stimming! yourll be up the duff in no time at all.... ! when do you go back again? it's complicated for you isn't it going to a clinic abroad, I thought 2 hour plus round trip was bad...

Rea - how you feeling , any signs or symptoms in there....... when is your otd? Will you be holding out till then or sneeky testing early?

Tinks - Well done on your review, that all sounded really very positive bearing in mind why you were having review. So IUI, that gives you plenty of chances to be working on this year, so your not sitting in limbo, which will be really good for your head too, stop you going lala waiting.. Is the clomid to try as seperate too or is that part of the IUI?

Blimey , your poor cycle is out sync, that's a late ov, I'm guessing you opk'd/temped to know for sure which is good, so your af will be due 14 days from then? good to have a better idea now on your cycle length this month. I'm not bloated now, so it's def happened for me too, but I also think late. But I am still spotting, been spotting since day 18 I think? I worked it out as 10 days before AF due.... humppph. I am back buying shares in panty liners... So AF due this friday or sat, but really I have no idea.... I was hoping it would be early, but if not I'm hoping it's late to change my cycle dates..
We could be changing cycle dates for a few mths couldn't we! ha

Hope everyone else is ok, any more updates from our next wave of ladies - laura, Atullet, Jennymarie etc

I haven't felt any signs or symptoms.... :( I'm trying to be measured and not count the days or worry but it's hard...:???: Yesterday was a tough day. Don't know why it hit me yesterday... I think I was expecting to have a feeling, to know that something had happened. But I have no idea... and that concerns me a bit... I asked my mum if she had any symptoms of early pregnancy and she said the first she knew was missing AF.. so that was somewhat reassuring.

OTD is Tuesday and my OH is away over the weekend so it will be Tuesday for testing. He actually gets back on Monday pm/eve so maybe if my bladder obeys we'll test Monday eve.

I'm still a bit emotional this morning. (Cried at stupid American sitcom!?) It frustrates me that I'm emotional though. I should be all full of excitement and positivity :wall2:

Start stims on 25th :good:

Just 3 sleeps till stimming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:
I just caught up on your other thread Lou. Sounds like a bit of an adventure with the pharmacy issue!? Bet that was just what you both felt like!?
Wow, it's really all starting for you now.... Fantastic :) :) :)

Hiya JJ :)

I know, time is flying right now!

It is a pain having to go to Belgium, I'm trying to figure out how it could be easier but I don't know. There is a clinic in London that do AOA that I found recently but they've only done it a couple of times and haven't done any research into it, they're just adding the chemicals as directed on the packet.

I'll just see how this goes this time and figure it out then.

Rea - aww I'm sorry you are feeling a bit flat  No symptoms is the best symptom IMO :) I resent having to wait until Tues though

We have 8 fertilised embryos . We had 13 but 2 didn't contain an egg ad 3 were immature but I'm still happy with that :)

Good luck rea. Remember at the moment u wouldn't know if it was natural pregnancy so I suppose symptoms are not to obvious.

Louise - we both had to take those antibiotics on Sunday morning. Glad it all went ok in Belgium

Congrats Greek - that's amazing!

All set for tomorrow then :)

Ah, thats interesting about the antibiotics, i dont have to take them, just hubby and he has to take a high dose for a couple of days.

Thanks . I'm pleased

Yeah we both took 4 tablets on Sunday morning.

Brilliant result so far Greek! Congrats
Hope tomorrow goes well for you xx

Thanks girls.... I know you are right xx I took myself out today, invited my mum along and we pottered around town and had a coffee (decaf of course!) at Pret. It was nice to be a bit distracted...
What's everyone up to over the bank holiday weekend? x

JJ - We were so glad we came away with a positive feeling and it went well considering it was following a failed cycle.
No, the clomid is to take with the IUI cycle. I think it just helps to ensure you have a nice, good egg waiting.

Yep, very late OV well certainly latest I've ever had since stopping the pill. Dr said it will more than likely be back to normal next month or if not certainly the month after. I temped to know for sure, been doing it since we first started TTC and find it works well for me, certainly better than OPK's and at least lets me know what my body is upto.
How frustrating with the spotting, hope that stops soon and both our cycles are back to normal next month.

I didn't know it was bank holiday weekend

I'm going to my parent's house tomorrow to see their new "puppy". What a bloody drama, i'm going to be biting my lip the whole day long :wall2:Some people shouldn't have kids... some people shouldn't have dogs.

Just had call: we have 4 grade 1 embryos ,2 grade 2 ( uneven divide but still great embryos) and the other two are still dividing will know when we go in. X
