Christmas 2013 Thread!

Hello girls. Love seeing other super organised & excited mummys on here. Ive got most of lo's things, all got when on offer so saved loads although id dare say il end up sending more!

Quick question, i seen those cute next outfits & would luv to buy them up now before sold out. My lo will be 4-5mths old at christmas & is currently getting into 0-3mnths. Shes piling the weight on & loves her grub, so worried what size should i get? If i get say 3-6 & it ends up too small/big i dont think i could return them close to christmas after couplr months, can i? Is anyone else buying sizes in advance in hope they fit? xx

Cameron has everything food wise... crisps, chocolate, fruit, meat stc etc.

I'm trying to treat food as food and not make one seem more special than the other. So a strawberry is just as appealing as a crisp. He'll be having some choccie at christmas I'm sure!

I've not been as organised as I would like with my shopping but getting there.

Can't believe how quick the year has gone!!

Usually you have 28 days to return an item x

It's worth asking when they start their Christmas returns policy. I remember when I had a part time job in LK Bennett it went from October-January.

Christmas Day is only 10 weeks today!!! How did that happen lol!!! xxx

Eeeeek!!!

That is 10 weeks for me to lose 10lbs (and gain 7 of them back over Crimbo  )

Sadly it also means 11 weeks and 1 day until I go back to work - boo hiss.

Has anyone started food shopping yet?

I have my tin of Roses, tub of Celebrations, peanuts, silverskin onions and Kettle Chips. I'll use my Nectar points on Baileys and Prosecco
I do party foods (from M&S) on Boxing day and I'll do our own Crimbo dinner the weekend between Xmas and NYE.

I am still undecided about a tree? Any recommendations for a fake one (we normally have real)

Today I intend to finish all of my Xmas shopping. Normally it would be because I've been procrastinating but for once I'm stuck on ideas for my dad, brother etc. They're typical men - want nothing, need nothing.
I'll be watching this thread (as if I wasn't stalking it already) for fake Xmas tree suggestions. I'm so bloody excited!
Seen the pjs I want for O so I'm going to try & order them today also.

Anyone know if primark have started selling Christmas clothes and pj's?x

Urgh! I need ideas of what I can actually buy LO for christmas off OH and I? I want something fun but special. But I don't wanna go too mad either cos he is going to be spoilt rotten by everyone else too.

I had looked at a sophie giraffe rocking horse (or giraffe even!) for him cos he loves his sophie and I think it's so cute! But would be be a bit young for something like this? He'll be 9 months at christmas.

I may venture to the shops myself tomorrow. I'm starting to get giddy. Bought my big boy all his pressies. Got some bargains on hot wheels which is meant to be really expensive but thanks to ticket mess ups and a BOGOHP I spent £45 instead of £110!! Oh I need to buy him a drum that ties round his neck.

For Finn I'm in process of buying all the vetch toot toot sets. Got his garage yesterday but got the train station and fire station for Christmas with extra track. The 3 big ones are having money and iPads (not both but dependent on which child wants what)!
Now where will all these new toys go?!? X

My mate said they have their Christmas jumpers in, so they'll probably have their PJs in too x

I made a start on my Christmas food shop at the weekend - I use Waitrose online and reserved my delivery slot for Mon 23rd Dec :) Very convenient and I can just log in whenever I want and add bits in / take them out...made me feel very festive!!

Going out on Saturday to get Christmas cards and selection boxes for all the LO's we buy for - and some bows / ribbons etc so I can start to wrap the pressies I have bought already.

9 weeks and 6 days to go!!!! xxx

HOW did I just see this thread?

I think Im going blind in my grand old age..

Im sooo exicted. My boy is all about his toys just now so this is the first year Ive felt xmasy. I did wanna do a crafty xmas but that was short lived now im back at work!

Ive got my list and started working my way down.

Not got food in yet, Id just eat it, or OH would so no point. aaand as for a tree - we are doing fibre optic this year until Jackson is about 2-3. The cats didnt like MILs it was a fake one with the bobbles they went mad for it so fibreoptic for time being it is!

Waitrose is a minimum spend of £90 for an Xmas slot!

I mean it's easy enough to spend £90 but as I am currently off work I like to shop about and get bits from all over. Although shopping the Monday before Christmas does me feel a little quesy!

I still need to get all our party food (do that from M&S a few days before), all our dips and cheeses. Plus our cheese biscuits and our biscuit selection tin. Plus booze and satsumas and all our dried fruit. We don't do Crimbo pud but we do get a yule log.

Of course I need all the essentials too.

I'll venture out on 27th for turkey crown and roast dinner bits and do our family dinner on 28th!

Man, I love Christmas food!

Does anyone think this is a good idea...?

This year we have all the kids with us on christmas eve to christmas day pm, so I was hoping to do the christmas box on christmas eve (pinched idea from here, thank you lovely ladies), however as there are 5 of them do you think one BIG box with all pj's in and a film and books etc would be ok? I would label up everyone's things all fancy but I just thought what on earth could I put in individual boxes, we can't watch 5 films!! Plus the oldest is nearly 15 and not sure how much he would get into it! I was just gonna buy him some novelty socks and chocolate etc?

I think that is perfect!

Christmas is all about sharing and being with those you love after all.

We'll def nick this idea if we have another kiddy

As it's just James and he won't really understand I am not sure we'll do the actual box this year but his PJ's are on order and I've ordered a lovely Crimbo book too.
