*-*-*-*August Mummies!*-*-*-*

iv just bought some magicool spray instead of a lil fan :) xx

got couple of lucozades, cereal bars and sweets n pringles , n thanks il try the vaseline then. xx sorry to hear you were poorly :(

I found I didn't need a fan last time, but the ward is insanely hot, and I'm dreading it being August. Whats this magicool spray?

I'm going to pack things I can eat quicker between contractions this time. I had all cereal bars last time and couldn't eat a bite fast enough between contractions and then having to spit it out in favour for gas and air! Will have to have a think. I think maybe milky ways might be good.

Ah no! Im gonna bare this in mind. But hate the thought of chocolate melting! Lol. Xx

That's what cool bags are for! I can't stand melted chocolate. And hubby will want cold coke no doubt. Now that I'm all organised this time, I'll probably have a really quick labour and not need any of it :-)

I keep thinking I must pack my bag, but just haven't gotten round to it yet!
So much to do!

Couldn't sleep last night, so much going on in my head about work. 5 days left and they still have not sorted cover or support so I have no clue who I am handing over to! Can't wait to finish.

Start my lazy daisy classes tonight so really looking forward to that :-)

Kelly, I'm with you on the uncomfortable in the evening thing. I seem to be fine in the day then from 5 everything hurts, aches, is extremely tender and I get very bloated :-(

Xx

Hi all,

how are you all doing? Only a few more weeks to go! Really wondering who would be the first August Mummy!

The last 2 days I've been very busy writing a list for what to take to the hospital. I showed the list to my OH and he thought I am planning to take way too much. It kind of feels like going on holiday, you just want to make sure everything you need is there. We still have so much to buy.

On Friday my OH"s brother will come over and he will stay till Monday afternoon. Busy times. So today and tomorrow will be cleaning days. Not looking forward to cleaning a lot with not much energy. It will be nice when the house is spotless though.

Yesterday I've bought a fan / spray on eBay. It's a 2-in-1 fan / spray which looks very nice and useful. Not sure if it will work though.

Hope you are all doing well! xxx

I've mostly packed by bag, I want to get a mini fan though and I need to sort some snacks. I was thinking of freezing small bottles of water so that they stay cold for longer and also they will keep the snacks cool!

My bag is pretty much full and I've had to pack a second bag for the baby. I've only packed a tankini top, t-shirt, old knickers, breast pads, maternity pads, dressing gown, toiletries, nappies, wipes, a blanket and a few changes of clothes for the baby but it seems like so much stuff! I did treat myself to a crossword puzzle book yesterday so that should keep me entertained if things are a bit slow!

Everyone keeps telling me the baby will be early, because my bump is big, I hope they are right, fingers crossed to have her at the end of July -eep!

google magicool spray and it will come up its really good i use it alot when im abroad on me face when im sunbathin :) yeah i get that thats why iv packed haribo n prigles as well lol milky ways sound good yeah the fun size! :D xx

hi kel, yeah best get doin ya bag then its out the way! :) iv had an incentive do mine like i said cuz of goin away on the 11th n theres a hot tub where we are goin so im goin be safe n keep the water below 100 n not have the jets on full blast but if anythin was to happen while i was there at least i have me bag n i can be at the hospital in half hour max :D the list i first did was way too much decided i wont need half of it if worse comes to shove gaz can always go home n get more stuff but hopefully it wont be necessary and theres a tesco 5 mins down the road from our hospital :) and yeah defo feelin worst at night so come that time i make sure most things are done what need doin so i dont have to move! lol

buggy1, i know what your sayin about feelin like your takin too much i feel like that as well even though everything in my bag is necessary ! all my toiletries are travel size and my bag still looks really full lol its the maternity towels that bloody take up the room! lol iv got so far, 20 maternity towels, 8 nappies, all me toiletries brush&bobble, 4 breast pads, bag of cotton wool, 3 pj bottoms, 3 stretch tops, 2 of my belvia bras, 5 pairs of shorts like pants, magicool spray, chewing gum, 2 lucozade sports bottles and lucozade tabs for the fella incase hes feelin tired, n me snacks cuz ya spose to eat little and often :) and for baby i ave 4 bibs, 3 all in one babygros, 1 sleepsuit, 3 pairs mittens, couple pairs socks, 3 lil hats. then im keepin my comin home outfit and babys comin home outfit in the car so gaz can just bring them up when we are ready :) im also takin 5 lil cow n gate milk cartons in with me and two lil bottles cuz they apparently frown upon ya if ya dont take milk in now, thats if your not breastfeedin xx

hi lydia, i keep bein told lil man is gonna come early! lol so will see! im very big for my dates i think so will see lol xx

Anyone hear about the hot weather we're supposed to be getting. People keep warning me about it at work!

I've always loved the heat but I have to say I struggled with that got weather we had a couple of weeks ago. So if it's true not looking forward to it. The classrooms are hot enough as it is.

How are you dealing with the hot days?

Hot weather totally sucks while pregnant! I swell up like a balloon straight away because of fluid retention. It hurts my hands, feet, legs and I feel like I cannot breath and get taken by the heat a lot when it is warm.

With my first I gave birth in the hospital four years go when there was a heatwave and it was so horrible.

Hi ladies! I have been passing by the thread but not really commenting.

Spinsugar - not long left at work now at all! Have they found cover yet?

Hi lydia. How is your purchases going? What do you still need to buy? I need to buy the moses basket items but i think that is all now. Oh, and a pair of clippers! Hopefully you enjoy having a spotless house. I did after my big tidy and clean the other day. But things are getting worse again now and it all needs doing again. Men are so crap at sorting things out n my scott makes such a mess!

Hello buggy1. My bag is almost full too but i have so much left to pack! I am far from motivated to pack it though! :( I cant wait for the August babies to start coming! It will only be probably another 2 weeks until things start happening for the August lot :) xx

I have heard about this hot weather! I am happy that it will be sunny (if the forecast doesn't change again). Although its not as nice, luckily im on maternity leave and don't need to do too much so i can make the most of the weather :). Im lucky enough to only get swelling in the evenings (and even then its not bad yet) but i have probably just jinxed myself into really suffering!

Going for my 34 week app today! And i am 35 weeks today so no doubt my 36 week app will be after i'm 37 weeks! xx

I'm so not looking forward to the hot weather! I'm finally sleeping a bit better and when the bed room is so warm I just can't sleep. Let's hope it at least cools down a lot in the evening! FX! xx

Hi Kelly,

I still have quite a lot to buy:

Nursery decoration (bed set, lantarn, curtains, wall canvas, changing matt). We know what we want to buy so it's only a case of ordering it. We're planning to buy the Lollipop Lane Pumpkin & Popsicle set. Absolutely love that one and think it's good for both boys and girl.
Apart from that a few small things like night wear for in the hospital, breast pump etc. Still feels like a lot though!

Not much for you to buy now! It's great having everything in the house in case the baby decides to come early. Having a moses basket ready in your house might be quite useful though :)

Yesterday I was planning to clean the house but only finished cleaning the living room. Feeling so sick yesterday and also today that I just don't want to get up and clean. My OH's brother will be here around 11 a.m. tomorrow so still have some time to clean but wanted it to be done by now. And yes it only takes a few days to get dirty again. Sometimes it feels all the hard work is for nothing!

Good luck with your appointment today! If you feel okay there shouldn't be a reason to be worried. What time is your appointment? Good luck and please let us know how it was going! xxx

The first August baby is born  So happy for mamawiles! Just can't believe the first August baby is here already. So it's no longer the question who's going to be 1st but who's going to be the 2nd. xx

Ohh thats scarey, she was due day after me!:oooo: I forget these babies could really come any time! x

Lydia, It seemed like a lot to me too until I wrote down the list and realised there was only 3 things on it that are needed. But as you say? As long as the moses basket is ready, I suppose there is no major rush for everything else. We want a few bits for our nursery. Like a bin that matches the underwater theme but can not find one anywhere! And also something to put on the wall.

Sorry that you aren't feeling great. Your OH brother shouldn't care about a bit of mess. Your very pregnant. But if your like me... no matter what others think? I still want to do it! Lol

Everything was fine at the app. Measured 33cm which is great :)
Only concern was that as it wasnt the usual mw, she didnt mention the birth plan yet. And my next app isnt until 37+5.
But, I think I might just google ir and make one as a back up just incase! Xx

Wow only 3 more things to buy? You're very organised!
The nursery is the main thing for us to do. But it's not very urgent as the baby will sleep in our room the first few months anyway. It will just be nice to show the room to all visitors.

There are lots of aquarium / fish type stickers on eBay. Might be nice to just buy a plain bin and decorate it with stickers. Just an idea. But it's difficult to find something when you've a picture of it in your head maybe.

Our house is always clean but when visitors are coming it always has to be spotless. I suddenly turn into a right cleaning freak and you won't be able to find anything dirty. I guess the way I feel now I won't be able to do it as properly as normal but that's so not me. It just doesn't feel good to leave it as it is :(

Glad to hear your appointment went so well! I thought the birth plan normally has to be done at your 34 week midwife appointment? Let's hope your little boy stays in there long enough so you will have enough time to discuss it all with your midwife. There are some good birth plans online. I used the NHS one which seems to be really good. You can save it and open and adjust it anytime you want. You can also print it and bring it to your next appointment which I am planning to do.
You can find the NHS one here: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/birth-plan.aspx

The nursery will be lovely to show people. Even though ours will be boring, i know what you mean. Our looks exciting already as i love looking at the cot and the minimal effect of it.

I'm not very good at doing anything like that. The bin would probably look horrible lol. I thought i might find finding nemo bins or something. If not, it might just have to be a turquoise bin. Maybe i could get OH to get creative with stickers. Thank you for the idea :)

Yes i am the same - I like to make sure that the rug is hoovered just before ppl come in and that there is nothing where it shouldnt be lol!

I just had my app for 34 weeks and she didn't mention it. It didn't help that the person who had the app before me turned up at the exact same time as me for her app which for her was 16 minutes late! So i had to wait for her to get her app over with and then mine got shortened because of her being so late! Brilliant! Thank you for the link, i shall go have a look xx

Just up from a lovely 3hr nap....and if im honest i could of slept more lol. Any one else totally knackered these days? Think the final preg fatigue has hit me like a brick....zzzzzzzzz xx
