Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks. Am I the only one who is hoping to go to 41 weeks? I always hope for big babies since they just look so adorable. I have had very busy weeks and haven't had the chance yet to relax and tune in with the baby yet.

This thursday my son has his last day at preschool and I was very busy making the little presents he will give to the kids over there (I made cork gnomes they are crocheted). I am also making to knitted fairies for his teachers to say thank you. I will make rain ow cupcakes as a treat too.

Then friday some family will celebrate his real birthday and I have made a big cake for that (it is in the freezer now). This saturday I have a maternity shoot and on sunday we have his kids birthday party (rainbow themed). And then finally I can relax so if baby comes at 37 weeks it will only be 2 days after all this. I don't like that idea hehe

I'd say yes! I can't wait any longer, so desperate to meet our baby. I imagine you are probably more impatient with your first, or it might just be me, I am impatient!

I think I am just odd in general hehe. I also wanted to go to at least 40 weeks with my first because I am aiming for a 4 kilo baby hehe.

Can honestly say I haven't heard anyone say that before!

I'm hoping mine will be a healthy size but not too big. I just don't like the not knowing. I think because my due date changed I feel she could come any day this month, starting from today as I'd be 37 weeks. Everyone tells me I look big for 35 weeks and that she'll be early. I don't really believe she will be that early but I am thinking she might be here at the end of this month! eek! So exciting!

My OH has to take weeks 38 and 39 off as the company will be closed for 2 weeks. He is thinking of taking 2 weeks off when our baby is here so I'm really hoping he/she will arrive in week 38. Otherwise he will lose all his days so won't be able to take days off for the rest of the year. Especially because he will be leaving that company in a few months time and doesn't have enough days till then. Fingers crossed! xx

It is a shame that with all the technology these days they can't be specific about when the baby comes. How nice would it be to know! If only they can say, yes you will go in to labour on Weds 24th July at 4pm!

That would be amazing! Even only knowing the exact day would be enough.
So if they calculated the dates wrong you'll be 37 weeks today? Exciting! Are you ready, hospital back packed etc? You might be the first August mum to have a baby! xx

Well ladies, I was lying in bed last night and thinking about my first due date which was July 21st! And worked out today I would be 37 weeks! id love to be at week 37 now.
Never mind eh! Only 2 weeks and 4 days till I will be.

I think my original EDD was 22nd July, scary! Hopefully they got carried away when they put it back a couple of weeks and my little one will be here before 2nd August!

I had the 22nd from the midwife too. I had 21st from GP and me and then 8th from scan lol!
I hope I have him early too. My OH is convinced he will arrive on August 1st as thats my birthday. And my mum was due to have me on the 8th so he thinks its just gonna happen again lol. We will get to find out soon when our little ones arrive! Yay! Xx

Hi Lydia. Good to see you it really was horrible going back by so far I was 14+5 at scan then was put back to 12+1. So my date isnt worked out from my last af!
Fingers crossed for your week 38 baby so that OH can spend two weeks with you guys. I can not imagine not having my OH around for those first weeks or week at least xx

Hi Kelly Sorry haven't written a lot on the August Mummies thread lately. Felt so exhausted that I just didn't have the energy to write a lot. Just replied some posts quickly as I didn't want to make too many spelling mistakes

How are you doing? Are you enjoying leave or getting a bit bored already?
If your periods were always on time they could have been wrong with the dates. Would be so nice if your baby would come early!

My OH will definitely take 2 weeks off after our baby is here. So if the baby comes in week 40 he will immediately take 2 weeks off. But that means he will use 20 days which is more than he can take up till January. When leaving his job in a few months time he will not get paid for a few days which will cost a lot of money. Oh well, it's all worth it in the end! xx

@ Kelly & Buggy1: It must be so awful when they change your due date with a difference of more than 2 weeks! 40 weeks already feels like such a long time! They might be wrong in the end so you will have your babies around week 37. Fingers crossed! xx

@ HelenJ: Waiting till week 41? I rather have my baby with week 38. I always think the longer you have to wait the more difficult it is to push the baby out I'm also quite bored so can't wait to have our baby here.
But if you have so much planned time will go fast. And bigger babies are also very cute! xx

Don't worry bigger babies are not more difficult to push out. The head doesn't grow much bigger so the extra weight is just fat on the body (which comes out easily anyway when the head is out).

My due date also changed from 4th of august to 30th of July and baby is now measuring one week in front (they don't change the due date now but he is one week bigger than 30th july so to speak) I don't want this baby so close to my sons birthday (5th of July).

Yes I am hoping the birthday will be a succes (but I think it will be).

We have a maternity shoot with the whole family. Pics will be taken of my husband, son, daughter and me. But also my husband and me alone and some pics of me just by myself. Then when the baby gets born a few days later we have another shoot and then more pics will be taken from the extended family. Nice reminder of this pregnancy (last one for me) and also a newborn. You never get the pictures so beautiful yourself so I thought it would be a nice idea.
We booked them both when I was 12 weeks pregnant (this photographer is very busy and specializes in family only).

Looks like I still have a lot to learn Will have the 2nd antenatal class tonight so we will probably get all this kind of information then. xx

Maternity leave is fine so far Lydia. Not tooo bored and been busy some days. Periods were always pretty regular. Every 28-30 days. But I didnt get my positive until 5 weeks after my last one which was odd!

Its defo worth him being there if that means nonpay for a few days in a few months then just dont think about it until it arrives.

We havent got long. Excited! Xx

anyone else feeling larger than life by the way!? and keep wakin up at ungodly hours to snack on either biscuits or chocolate!? lol 4 or 5 is when i usually wake up starvin! past week or so this has kicked in n i had to go down and eat a snickers bar one night! what the hell is that about!? lol xx

Not at all Charlotte haha! I dont get hungry in the night and generally not until 2pm in the day either. I skippes breakfast for a few days cus just wasnt hungry at all xx
