*-*-*-*August Mummies!*-*-*-*

Aww Lydia, that is a bit crap. I don't always sleep great but usually enough, plus naps!
I'm feeling surprisingly well considering I am 39 weeks tomorrow! But that makes me think I'm even further away from labour! :-) I have my moments but generally feel ok and got this study to still do. It's going quite well though.
Busy weekend with step daughters here for 3 nights as it's a bank hol... And hubby's bro, wife and 18 month old coming Sunday. Yikes!!

Hopefully not long for those of us who are left! Fx.

Wow that sounds like a VERY busy weekend! Are you looking forward to it or is it all a bit too much? Time will fly for sure ;) xx

hmmmm bit much maybe but I guess it'll be okay. I need to clean which is the worst thing!!! we have two weekends with NO plans then, so that's good. although who knows when squiggle might come......still worried we won't make this wedding on 14th! It's going to be quite stressful if we can as taking my step daughters too...but I'm sure we'll manage somehow.

oh man i need to pee every 2 seconds today!! aghhhh!!

The rest of you are so close now! August has flown by. Good luck to you all :)

Thank you Buggy! i still can't believe it's actually going to happen at all!! When I go into labour I'll be in denial at first I reckon!

Agreed that August has gone so fast. This whole year has.

I see theres been more babies!? I shluld check! Lol x

I might read it after...I have a cloak of protection against any negative labour stories (hypnobirth-talk) :-) x

Its not negative in my eyes. :-) It was long but I did it on minimal pain relief with no interventions. I just used similar techniques to hypno birthing like breathing and visualisation and TENS. Infact I'm very proud of it lol, but it was scary - after - when I found out what had occurred!

Ace then. I'll be doing it on g&a with tens and breathing etc so always good to hear others doing it.

I'm on a walk to get things moving ;-)

My TENs was the BEST £30 I EVER spent. I had it on for almost 48H, even during the stiches! I wasn't allowed any gas and air for the lat 6-7 hours so TENs was my only pain relief. It bloody worked for me and I'm sure it will for you xxx

Tens was amazing for my first labour which was long, slow and gradual. Admittedly it didn't do such a good job this time. It worked up until 8pm when I basically went from latent phase to pushing between one contraction! I had it on till I gave birth still. I'm sure it would have been worse without it.

Great to know girls. I guess it's best to get it on quite early? I'll put it on til I get in the pool. Do you think you could put it on yourself, as I may well start when hubby is at work and don't really want him rushing home straight away if it starts slow as he is having to take unpaid leave as it is. xx

Yes, definitely as early as you can. When you know its definitely it.

You could just about do it yourself. But much easier to have someone do it for you. The ones positioned below the shoulder blades might be tricky.

Oh, one tip. Get some micropore tape. The pads sit in a place where If you are quite active, they fall off a lot. I was constantly re wetting mine as I was always bouncing walking or doing yoga!

I think so. Vicm doesn't seem to be on there at all?
Not heard from supertoast since she said she was in labour!

Yeh I noticed she wasn't on the list. I presume she never posted much and defo not in here as id have updated her onto the list.

Eek! Cant believe its already the 23rd. All that time we spent building up to our little ones and appointments etc.

Im also looking forward to chatting to u all mummy side as its easier to keep uo to date with that now than both.

Will u be joining the august mummies over there if you have your baby in september? Or will u make a brand new thread? Xx
