Dear god don't try the maternity Spanx - I have and it's awful! They make you sweat in seconds because everything makes you sweaty later in pregnancy and they are so uncomfortable. You'll probably find you don't want anything touching your bump as most women find it uncomfortable later on- I already feel like that as I'm so big!
I'd suggest Seraphine for wedding wear. Their actual 'occasion wear' in the luxe section is really nice but pricey, their 'everyday stuff' at around £50 for one of them or front dresses is very good. In my first pregnancy while I was still working I basically lived in seraphine stuff and have the knot front dress in multiple colours, they are still in fantastic condition as they wash really well. Worth watching out for offers - eg 20% of dresses this week for Mother's Day.
I've never shopped there myself but there is a maternity occasion wear place called 'Tiffany rose' on the Internet and they are quite popular for weddings but pricey. However you'll find that people are often selling deessss on eBay that they've only worn once because most people don't use them many times during a pregnancy. Also JoJoMaman Bebe have some nice dresses usually in the summer - I got one for a wedding in my first pregnancy x
Ha, I hate normal spanx and usually put my nails on before putting it on like an idiot, so there's me and hubby trying to pull it up ahhaha.
I'm gonna buy one closer to the party and see if I can fit into my dress or if i have to buy a new one (awh, damn ) ahha.
Yeah Rose,
you're so right, I can totally relate to what you're saying,
I already prefer a looser fit and less/lighter/softer material touching my tummy, I am otherwise uncomfortable and almost get a sicky feeling xx
Thanks girls for recommendations. I will have a good look online. Love maxi dresses, OMG so exciting to be pregnant in summer....( Please don't point out i will regret saying this! )
H4R, that's great mass hasn't really grown.
Delta, awesome pictures. How are you settling in in your new home?
My scan went well earlier. All looking fine. I was quite anxious as i have two friends who have had anomalies picked up at 20 weeks in the past year.
I held out and still don't know if little one is a boy or a girl.
Just another 20 week wait to find out now....
I'm a maid of honour next month and have a wedding in May, two in September and one in October - it's a busy year for us all with weddings too! Not sure if I'll make the one first weekend of September as it's 5 hours away and only 3 weeks after due date.....
I've been feeling movements too PB! Started at the beginning of the week when I debated if they were kicks but they've carried on every day so I'm assuming baby is pretty active kicking around in there
Happy Friday everyone, and happy half way to everyone else who turned 20 weeks this week, I can't believe we're half way there!
I'm really lucky that we don't have any big events happening yet that I need to be mega dressed up for. I can't belive how fab all your scans are. Makes me nervous and excited for mine next week.
Peanut I dread the thought of spanx normally so you are brave haha
H4R totally agree! I thought it was just me that felt sick when something is really digging in! I've just managed to get my gender scan photos from last week off the CD we were given them on, thought I'd put one up because they do a free 3D tester (in the hope you'll pay for it later) so thought you might be interested - he looks like a little alien as they have so little fat at this stage! X
Aww Rose,
he looks so similar to my first boy's 3d scan at around 17/18 weeks! (was also a printed bonus pic I hadn't asked for) - I remember how shocked I was looking at it and then I just quickly hid it in my wallet haha
Anyone's elses mood swings getting really bad? Ha! We had a maccies and they put the fries in the bag where they all fell out and I honestly got so angry, to the point I wanted to go in and throw it at em. I didn't obviously xD then I had a melt down and hubby was like ugh you've been so crazy the last few days (I hadn't noticed). Hmm x
Does anyone else have really awful skin atm? I had pretty bad skin before I got pregnant, then it was amazing for 12 weeks or so! Now I basically want to wear a bag on my head Not even sure what I can do about it either.
