****** April Mummies!!!! ******

Hello ladies.

I've not posted much over the last couple of months, still been browsing but struggling to keep up with this thread, it's so busy!

Hope you are all ok and looking forward to joining tri 3 soon.

I'm feeling a bit nervous as we have done nothing yet, need to empty spare bedroom and decorate, buy everything (although will use some bits from when our son was little). Also need to sell our car and buy one that will comfortably fit a double buggy in it! Add to that the fact I'm likely to be having an elective c section at 39 weeks it doesn't leave much time!

Plus, we have no names!! Nothing!! xxx

Morning all
A chilled out day of writing baby lists and shopping lists!
Had a pretty restless night as hubby was on call and was called out at midnight. I was then wide awake.
Xx

Just copied and pasted the list that some kind soul had put on here last week and highlighted the items I already have. I've actually got more than I thought! And the bits I don't have I can do in one shop! God its scary!

xxx

Morning ladies! Well my shopping spree paid off yesterday, I have bought everything!! Woohoo all I need is my hospital essentials and some Johnson's baby bits and some more clothes for her and I'm done yes! I can relax now as I know I am all sorted out :) xx

Hi lovelies!

Been reading on my phone but struggling to keep up! But can remember seeing a very gorgeous ring - lucky thin Danielle.

Yay for v days and I can't believe some of you are off to tri 3 already! Seems mental. I remember when I first found the april thread on this forum in tri 1 and i'd browse other threads and see peoples tickers and think about how much time seemed to be dragging but all of a sudden its nearly here. I can't believe we're going to have our babies in 3 months :D I just can't wait to meet our little pip.

Big love to those struggling with PGP/SPD, I get random shooting pains now and then but nothing like what you girls are suffering with :( I hope it gets better or more manageable and that apil comes around for you all soon.

Had such a lovely xmas got some presents for pip from family which was very cute, and bought some bits and bobs in the sale - mostly boring stuff though! Got some sheets for the pram and cotbed, a grobag and breast pump.

Can I ask what nursery furniture everyone has got/is getting - there's so many sets etc out there I don't even know where to start! In laws have offered to buy it for us which is so kind so I want to find something that's going to last and is good value.

Also just wondering how many baby grows/vests etc we'll need to start with and what sizes?

Woohoo! Well done Leanne! Go you! Im on mothercare ordering the mummy essentials! Then im going to look at what Nel needs!

Amy I've got the Mamas and Papas fern collection in white!

xx

Morning! I'm off to the tip once lo wakes up. Hubby only have out the bin out on Monday so binmen didn't empty it as our car was in front :( I now have a full rubbish bin and 2 full recycle bins as well as 4 bags and a load of boxes so off we go!!

My mum has bought my crib this time as lo outgrew her Moses basket in 7 weeks so decided to have something that would last a little longer before moving him into his own room. My dad is collecting it on Monday!!
People have started buying little bits and bobs so my stash is just beginning to grow

Thanks Lynne will take a look at that, might go down to mamas and papas/mothercare etc this weekend its so hard to choose just looking on the internet.

What a bummer about the bins tinks - ours came this morning at 6:07! Far too early for all the crashing about if you ask me :)

Pip has got a mega stash of things coming on nicely. And had a text this morning to say some of my sale order is ready to collect. Want to get a start on washing but as we haven't started the nursery I've nowhere to put it really so will only end up washing again nearer the time so will just wait I think.

Congrats on getting everything Leanne!

I've got some of the larger items : pram+carrycot, Moses basket+mattress+sheets, cot bed + mattress+ sheets. Ordering a wardrobe and chest of drawers from Asda this weekend. Made a start on clothing, got a couple of blankets for the pram and Moses basket but could probably do with a couple more. Got a bath thermometer but no bath yet. Got 2hooded towels, wash cloths, a few packs of nappies, changing mat, play mat, nail care set, brushes... Bought the bag I'm going to use for the hospital yesterday.

Still need a monitor but trying to decide whether to get a motion sensor one or just sound. Also still need a changing bag but can't make my mind up on one!!! Need to get some baby toiletries , more clothes (although like Amy I'm not sure how many of which size to get!!), bouncer and swing (thinking of getting both- what are the rest of you doing?)

Think there's other bits and pieces on my list too.

Waiting til after the birth to get a cot bed bedding set as want to get something more girlie if we end up having a girl.

Started writing my birth plan last night! Xxx

Naomi I bought a bouncer when Amazon had their black Friday deals on, my friend has one that plays music and vibrates and said its the best thing she's bought as it buys her enough time for a shower or to eat her dinner etc so when I saw one I went for it! Sounds like you've got loads, feel like I need to pull my finger out a bit!

Totally random question, Leanne im hoping you'll be able to answer! How many maternity pads should we roughly have? I mean, how long after the birth will we need to wear them? Days or weeks???!!!

xx

Ah fab, I'm going to do some sale shopping online today and see if I can find one. Are you getting a swing too or sticking to the bouncer? Xxx

Hi ladies! Been AWOL for a bit, hope you've all had a lovely Christmas.
Can't believe how quick the time is going now! Or how much money bubba is costing us already... Today we ordered nursery furniture, exciting but pricey!
And our pushchair, gone for the silver cross wayfarer, can't wait to be pushing little one around in it!

we did that shop on Friday, expensive is not the word! lol we also got the wayfarer, what colour did you go for?

We ummed & aahed but went for the black in the end, the shop we bought it from had a deal which included matching bag & seat liner so I can indulge my love of pink with accessories & the bright raspberry seat liner - I loooove the raspberry colour but hoping to get max use out of it so didn't want it too girly just in case!
What colour have you got? I love the shiny silver part in the middle of the handle, it's so easy to collapse/set up too which is good as I'm very cackhanded!
Happy 2014 everybody!!

I got the raspberry! Was going down the black route, then purple and it was my OH who convinced me on the pink :) it is so easy to put up and down, that's part of what I liked about it

Ah I'm jealous lol I love the raspberry, good choice! I already have lots of pink accessories though so I'm sure I will be able to satisfy my need for girly ness!
Naomi you do sound organised, I've got nursery furniture, pram & a few clothes... That's about it! :eh:

Ah plenty of time still to get stuff. Just been trying to sort as many things as possible while I'm off work! Xxx

Yeh Naomi, like you I am doing as much as the little footery things whilst off. Iv just ordered the rest of the maternity/baby toiletries that the list suggested! Iv just focused on them as our nursery wont be ready in full till the first week in March as our furniture isn't getting delivered until 1st march!! Im just buying the toiletries and stashing them under our bed and when the nursery is finished they will be stored in the spare mirrored wardrobe that will live in the room! Im quite excited today!!

Loving all the colour and shopping chat!
xx

ALl our baby things are in the big attic bedroom at the top of the house and the clothes are in a plastic box in the wardrobe - I love going up there and taking them all out for a look :)

Naomi i'm going to stick with the bouncer and see how we go, if bubs doesn't like it then I might try a swing or hold out until they are old enough for a jumperoo.

Have been buying things like breast and maternity pads one pack at a time every time I do our weekly shop - thought that might help spread the costs out a bit. But like Lynne would be interested to know how many packs of things we're likely to need.

Also how many nappies and what sizes?

Lynne - which thread was the list in that you printed?

Ams - I have the same furniture as Lynne, m&p Fern in white.
We've cleared the nursery ready to paint this weekend. I've just bought some yellow star wall stickers too.

I must admit we've pretty much got everything now, need a monitor but my sister is getting us that as a gift, it's a BT one that plays music and has a light show too.
We got the Apollo bouncer from m&p.
Clothes wise I haven't bought much as I'd rather hang on until we know whether we have a boy or girl. I've got 4 unisex newborn sleepsuits and a pack of short sleeved vests and scratch mits.
Trying to find a unisex cardigan but they seem quite girly.

I need to sit down and do some school work today which is really unappealing! X

Haha Gilly you are kidding! We also have the same furniture! I wonder if we'll have our babies on the same day too! Hehe!

Ams, its a thread on the 2nd page I think and it's titled "the everything you need thread" or some thing like that. I'll go check. Iv been buying nappies and wipes in my shopping for weeks too, iv got over 700 nappies and 200o nappies sacks!! Haha!
xx

It's usually a couple of weeks hun I get 2/3 packs of the heavy duty maternity pads for the first few days as the flow can be really heavy then I switch to always extra long day and night or something along them lines as the maternity ones can be bulky and cause irritation so I find the normal with wings etc offer much more comfort xxx
