Ante-natal class today!

After last weeks fiasco because of the bank holiday, I've finally got my first ante-natal class this afternoon!

I'm super excited, although a little nervous because it's a Mum's only thing so my OH can't come (not sure I'd want him to atm anyway ha!). I'm really worried that because I'm fairly young and look younger than I am that there will be some judgemental people there who will think I'm just a silly girl . But we're all in the same boat .

Oh these pregnancy hormones! They make me ridiculous!

Good luck I'm sure it will be fine! I started my classes last week, boyfriend got to go so that was good. From my experience there is people of all ages, in my class there was a much older couple, a young couple, a young girl and her mum, an older lady on her own. Enjoy your class!x

My first one was last night, but I was able to take my husband with me.
It was good, made me feel more at ease about labour, but there were people of all ages there and some people really hadn't a clue, its a wonder they were ever able to make a baby in the first place!!
One girl asked 'what's spotting?'
Then she said 'sometimes when I get into bed at night and stretch out, I get a pain in this part' (she pointed to her calf) then said 'what's that?' The physio was like 'umm..its a cramp..' Lol. X

Ha ha Jayjay! I had my first one last night and there were people in mine who were exactly the same!

It was interesting and DH learnt a lot about his role during the whole process which was great as he feels a lot more involved.

Best bit was watching all the guys faces when the Mw started discussing what a show was, hilarious!

How did you find your first class Saralou?

We have had three NCT classes so far and they have been brilliant, I was really worried at first becuase I am the youngest and I had visions of me not fitting in but all the ladies have been fabulous and the gents have been brilliant too.

Hubby has really enjoyed certain elements of the classes and found certain parts of it a bit mind boggling, namely talking about placenta's and the pelvis. I think it is nice for him to meet other fathers-to-be! x

Yeah it was ok, I was definitely the youngest there but they didn't exile me or anything haha! It was actually a little boring at some points cause it was all stuff we already knew but the breast feeding stuff was useful and also helped the OH understand it better (after his mini drama about it) when I talked to him after . Only another 2 classes to get through!
Think maybe it would've been nice for the partners to be allowed to come.
Do you all have a couple of classes to go to?
