Evening Primrose Oil. Comes as like a gel capsule. Can swallow them in the morning to generally help soften all that down below stuff an help prevent tearing, or you can be brave and poke one up outside the baby's front door each night. Either from 36 weeks. I just put one up most nights (terrible memory and forgot half the time), and had a small graze. No tearing, no stitches, just the equivalent of a small friction burn.
Already got a pot of capsules for in ten weeks time

Just best in mind if you're going the non-oral route, the capsule will dissolve over night and some oil will leak out. Knickers are needed as it's kinda sticky.
I'll take that over a rip to the asshole any day, though.
Sleeping bags: can be used from birth as long as baby's head doesn't fit through the neck hole.
Blankets are not tog-rated, so there's that...
DD will be in bags, or vest/sleep suit with no cover. Blankets are fine during the day when you're awake, but I did all the feet-to-foot, firmly tucked in stuff with DS, and he still ended up under one one night. Luckily he snuffled loud enough to wake me, and I clicked what he'd done and ripped the blanket off him. He was bagged without exception then, until he was over a year old. He also had times when he slept in just a best in the middle of winter, so if she's anything like her brother, DD will have neither for months. Still got a couple bags for night, and a couple blankets for day.
Do those pelvic exercises, ladies
