_>•~*X*~July 2015 Mummies-to-be!!!~*X*~•<_

Congratulations on tri 3, Laura!! :)

Sorry to hear some of you have been having bad nights sleep. Last night was ok for me but the night before I hopped out of bed with cramp in my left calf and my right foot at the same time. I was jumping around like an idiot. Cramp is painful!!

I think my little one mostly stays laying across at the moment as I feel movements left and right but occasionally she'll move up and I think it's her head or bum that I can feel near my belly button.

Hope you manage to get an appointment today, Toni!

Yep, my OH has passed very light comments on my lady parts too. I can no longer see down there either so keeping tidy is a mission! I agree, they should all be helping us

Twinkle, I know exactly how you feel about people commenting on what you're eating. One of the nurses I work with made 5 comments in one day to me last week about how I'm 'constantly eating' (not true at all). Yesterday I was having my 11am banana (hardly a massive donut!!) and she looked at me and said 'you know what I'm going to say, don't you? Eating again, are we?'. I seriously would love to just tell her to F off, she really irritates me. People should mind their own business!!

Need your advice ladies. I've posted a thread about it. Having a mini dilemma about what nursery furniture to get. Feel like I've seen them all but then last night I found a set that I really, really love the look of. Only problem is that it's expensive and I'm not sure I can justify spending that much. We are only paying a third as our parents are paying a third each so we can afford to spend a little more, but I'm still reluctant.

Here it is, what do you think? xx

KWarbee, you know I am in the same situation as you are with the nursery... Seen it all, but cannot choose and I have actually seen this one at the Baby Show and it is pretty amazing! You should go for it, as it will last for a good couple of years. Have you seen Boori website? I love some of their cots and than can actually be comverted into proper beds, but they are expensive too - http://www.boori.com/uk/.

Congrats on the big move Laura, so exciting! Also slightly scary how fast time is going

I have had the first lie in that I have had in months today, but it seems to have given me a headache  can't win!

First day of a 10 day stint at work today, and I'm DREADING IT!!! I do however have a week off after to look foward to  and then after that, the 11 week countdown to maternity leave begins!!

My hubby has booked a man to come to our house to do a children first aid course next weekend, which I'm looking foward to because I feel that I don't have a clue when it comes to things like that, and we aren't doing any antenatal classes, so this makes me feel a bit better.

Hope all you ladies who didn't sleep well, get a good nights sleep tonight! :nap: Xx

Ps, congrats on DDD KWarbee, I think that set is gorgeous!! It is rather pricey but I don't have much experience with the cost of sets because I bought all of mine separately xx

Thanks Ingridika! I'll take a look at that website. When you say you've seen that one at the Baby Show, do you mean the set I posted a link for?

Kaylip, I always get a headache when I have a lie in, it's so unfair, isn't it?! It's like your body is punishing you for a having a little extra snooze! Hope the 10 days straight at work isn't too bad, think of the week off you have planned to get you through it :)

xx

KWarbee, thats right, I have seen the Silvercross nursery furniture at the baby show event in Excel as well as couple of sets from Boori. They are amazing quality and look fantastic, but it all comes up to almost £1k :(

I know, it's so expensive. The portobello set that I like is £850 on one website but it's still more than we would've liked to spend. Our max was originally £500 but I'm just so tempted. We've been so good with everything else we've bought for baby xx

You should treat yourself than :)) bur remember you still have to get the mattress...

I know :oooo: and they can be very pricey too, might try and see if we can get that in one of the Mothercare/Mamas and Papas sales. Thanks, think I'm going to try and persuade my OH! xx

Good luck and let me know what you will finally decide...

We still have no clue what to buy!

Thanks, will do! Good luck to you too. Hope you find one that you're happy with soon xx

Kwarbee I say go for it! I got a sale cotbed and feel like I settled for it as it was cheap (it is still a nice cot but I wanted one from White Company and Hubby said no...hes now paying by me choosing everything else expensive and my argument is; well the cot was cheap!)

:) Good argument. I can say the same. Our pram wasn't exactly budget but it was a cheaper option and in the sale. Plus, everything else we've bought has also been in the sale so I think it's only fair that I can have a fancy nursery set  xx

Just one thing to think about...

You get all this fancy nursery gear for baby... Who actually sees it? The grandparents/family on the odd occasion... Maybe a few random friends of yours...

Sit and really think for a minute... Is it worth blowing thousands on something like that?

If it still really is, and/or, you have the money available to do so... Get down with your bad self and order it.

I've been in rented all my adult life, so no nursery decorating for me. DS' room at my old house was the same size as the master bedroom, in green and brown with cream carpet, and full-size "natural wood" adult wardrobe and chest of drawers.

This bedroom is cream with a small white wardrobe, and his white toddler bed.

His cot and bed were bought by me, all other decor/furniture came with the house/flat.

From time to time I think about how much I'd love to decorate a baby nursery for this lil one, but honestly... She sure as heck don't know, and really no one else is gonna see it. I'd truly LOVE to decorate DS a room now he's over two and could actually appreciate it a bit, but... Eh. In the long run, it's not like he really knows even now.

I'm not meaning to piss on the pretty-room parade, honestly... Just, when I had DS, I had money to burn and would have absolutely gone all out were I not in rented. Now I'm living penny-to-penny, and my decisions are a lot more... "Is there really any need for (X, Y, Z)?"

If I had the money/room, I'd get a low chest of drawers, and build a long-but-low wardrobe for DS (think: hanging rail around adult hip-height). He's really starting to show interest now in picking his own clothes each day, and I'd love him to be able to literally get stuff himself, rather than me holding out three different shirts asking which one he wants.

Before now, even at this stage still, he doesn't care if his clothes come out a wardrobe, off the drying rack, or out a bin bag.

Do you still want that nursery set??
If you answer yes, go buy it right now.
If you're not sure, see how you feel about it tomorrow.

Remember, neither decision is right or wrong, I'm just trying to throw out the other side of the coin. Xx

Had my 25w appt today. Bump is.measuring 28cm so only.slightly over as you get 2cm leway dont you! Have to to go back in 3weeks for bloods.other than that all fine xxx

Lacey you make a good point and one as a new mum I hadn't considered (hubby had though hence the cheaper cotbed!) for me the nursery is an extension of me and as a designer wanted it to reflect me too! Havin. Said that it is complete self indulgence doing it and I have reined it in. I'm a bit of a dreamer and was the same planning my wedding! Although have said this I have ended up with practical adult sized built in wardrobes and a 'change table' that can be converted in to a high ladder bed in the future so not completely over the top as I won't have to re do it! That was the only this that really put me off nursery furniture is having to buy it all again when the hangers need to be bigger!

Claire glad your appointment went well! Had mine today too and am measuring 26 weeks which is good but I think it is varried also you may just be a bit more bloated today?!
X
