My midwife said the 16 week appointment would be the one where we heard the heartbeat. I heard mine at the scan too though, no one else seems to have mentioned that and I had no idea we would, was lovely though.x

Yeah your right 4 weeks isn't a long time at all and the £79 I would be spending could buy baby monitors or new cot so I'll keep telling myself to be patient lol

Crawkay I'm hoping to hear babies heart beat at my appointment next Monday
Midwife saw me for my downs bloods so said she would be happy to see me at 17-18 weeks
Which made me sad a little bit for waiting longer but Monday isn't far away now
The heartbeat is a lovely thing to hear

I'm 16 weeks today can't believe it really time went so slow to 12 weeks now time is speeding up

Can't wait till 20 week scan to make sure baby is ok and so I can buy something for them eeekkkk xx

Happy 16 weeks Laura

Time really has gone so quickly, can't believe I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow. 20 week scan is 5 weeks on Friday which seem ages away, but it's something to look forward to!

Very excited to hear baby's heartbeat on Thursday. That'll be amazing.

Yes, my 16 week scan is a private one. Dh won't be able to make 20 week scan as he is a teacher and his witch of a head won't let him have the time off, so at this one he'll get to see everything. Also as we will have had 2 scans with Meetyourbaby we can have a 3d/4d scan half price! So will probably do that around 30 weeks.

Had very funny sensation earlier today while at cinema with some friends, it felt like the baby kicked me really hard, twice, I actually winced and it still feels a bit tender. I know it wasn't a kick because bubs is too tiny to have kicked that hard, and nowhere near the spot where I felt it. So I have no idea what it was!

Also received my NT/blood results back today, 1 in 63,000 chance which seems pretty good! xx

Hope you are all doing well! I've not been on for a while due to being mega busy at work!

I've had a major sweet tooth kick in lately that I have a tub of jelly beans on my desk that I keep munching at! I'm not normally a sweets kind of girl I'm more savory so no idea where this has come from!

Ooh, Boosh, I wonder if that's a sign that you might be on Team Pink! I'm the opposite; I've been all savoury from the beginning and don't really fancy sweet stuff at the moment.

Great result AnotherYou. I'm hoping to have my exact ones tomorrow. At the moment we just know that it's low risk.

I still have no symptoms boobs are tender a bit I'm convinced I'm going to start leaking soon : (

First time mum the appointment will just probably be your 16 week + check up they do weight, blood pressure, urine check poss tummy measure and then also listen to babies heartbeat with Doppler : ) x

I just had a weird, bubble type feeling in my tummy. Common sense tells me it was not baby since I've been told not to expect to feel anything before 22 weeks (still 6 weeks away) but it was definitely something I haven't felt before.
I might just pretend it was something more than it was to make me feel better

Crawkay, I had this last week. I know it's far too early to feel baby but 4 days in a row I had a very strange sensation in what I assume was my uterus area. It felt like a bubble expanding in there, or a bit like wind, but in the wrong place! My mum is convinced I've felt baba moving but it just seems too early. Nice thought though xx

Oh wow Crakay I hope it was baby you felt that would be amazing!
I've read it can be anywhere between 16 & 24 weeks that you feel it!
I can't wait to feel my little bubs now!

I think I'd be a little more excited if it wasn't for my stupid anterior placenta.
There is no way I could feel baby 6 weeks before sonographer told me I would.

I don't know where my placenta is as I wasn't told at the 12 week scan.
So I guess it's just a case of waiting, seems that's all we do, wait to get to 12 weeks, wait for first kicks, wait for labour & to meet our little ones! xx

I might be talking rubbish but I would guess that if you weren't told then it's just in a normal spot.

Did you get a sheet of notes from the scan put in your book? I did and it tells me on there but sonographer made a point of telling me about it too.

The waiting is a pain but the I always hear people say how fast everything goes once baby arrives. Seems we can't win really.x

I did get a sheet attched to my notes but i'll be gosh darned if I can decipher them haha! The only bit I understood was the dating bit! There was a thing that said P0 but no idea!

I'll have a chat with the midwife on Tuesday next week when I have to go for my quadruple bloods (couldn't get the NT measurment at the scan) and see if she can tell me!

I'm wondering now if I go next week (15+2) if I'll see her the following week for my 16 week check up? She might leave me to go a week or 2 longer!

Anywho it'll be what it'll be feeling a lot more relaxed about things since getting past the 12 week mark it feels like a weight has been lifted!

Ah, my sheet is really straight forward eg. Hands - both visible, ha.

I have to go back to the maternity unit to get my quadruple bloods done, bit of a faff.
Maybe your midwife will just do the 16 week stuff at your bloods appointment. I have no idea really, there's so much goes on isn't there?
