Well...big surprise, hein, I have a frenchy accent...I think! Actually a plumber came the other day and said I sounded more like a scandinavian! Don't know what it means! Lol

I know that I have a problem with H, I sometimes get mixed up betweek air and hair! (I'll say it the other way round!  )

It's difficult, because in French,, we just don't pronounce the H, that's why! (I know, 6 years in Uk, and still making mistakes!!!! bad, bad, bad!)

my dad has a really strong accent still and he's been in the UK for 19 years now. Actually it's funny when he comes out with Yorkshire phrases with a French accent.
He also still has trouble with things like air and hair.
And he says things like suburn instead of suburb for some reason. and Sink instead of think.

I havent a clue what my accent is, i did have quite a strong accent from the south east of England but since ive been living in Glasgow its changed a bit and now a mixture of both!

I too am originally from Wimbledon, then moved to Rotherhithe!

My OH was shocked when he first met me, he thought I sounded so common  but to me I speak normal, he is from Birmingham so we say things really different, although after years of living in Bristol and being with me for 4 yrs, I have taimed his accent, although he didn't have a brummy accent when we met, but he did have a slight twang, which hs now gone!!!

He says Salt.........I say Sought (but not pronounce the t)
He says pork.......... I say pawk
He says towel (pronouncing every letter)..................(which is a lot of hard work if you ask me, I say Towl (no L tho)
He says Path..............I say Paaarrrrf
He says Bath.............I say Baarrrf

So that's me, common as muck  but proud! xx
