What accent do you have?

i don't think I have an accent, I went to a posh school too so had it knocked out of me!! A lot of people in scotland think I am australian on new zealand!! I pronnounce bath like barth garage like gararge scone like scowne, can;t think of anymore.
Sparky, I picked up scottish slang from living there for 7 years and it is quite funny using it down here without realising!! I nearly choked at the radio the other day when terry wogan says "aahhh pish" now that is naughty in scotland!!!!!

goes the other way too tho, i remember using minge for the first time in scotland, thinking it was a fairly innocent word!!! ooo the looks i got!

pish is p1ss, if something is sh1t it is pish and if you are hammered you are pished!!

I knew minge was lady bits so what does it mean in scotland? I am all confused!!!!

I like gadgey, that is like a chav but I think it is worse than chav imo, also I said to a friend down here "so, what you say to it?" and he didn't have a clue what I meant - does anyone, or is it just him?

haha reminds me off the first scottish person I knew when I was a teen, I told him I was going down the shop and he said "how?" and i said....erm walking, and he fell about laughing, apparantly how means why? :rotfl:

I have pretty run of the mill dulcit Brummie tones, with the occasional bit of Scouse from my Liverpool years (and OH) :D

I say that all the time, how instead of why, it is very annoying as why is why and how is how!!!!

I asked my ex boyfriend a question once and he said I dunna ken! I thought he said I don't care and went mad! Ken means know!!

They also say they are away to places which I do now as well! I am away to my bed, away to the shops!

Also when I was teaching up there all the children say jamp instead of jumped!! It's really funny, I jamp off the roof etc! You can see the logic!!

 Aye the scots dictionery is full of great words hehe!!

I wouldn't mind the jordy accent, why aye man and all that!!

ooo never noticed this post back then

i have a VERY common accent,
think 'my fair lady' before her transformation
i dont pronouce my h's or add them where they dont belong too :rotfl:

Christ I dont know! When I go out with my mate who has a strong warrington accent (kinda diluted lancashire) the lads call me "Posh Bird" but this end of town (which is the posh bit!) I sound northern as a lot sound very plumby english.
Add to that I'm actually a scouser so some words just come out in scouse and I live with a south african who has a very strong accent that sounds like upper class english so some of my words come out with a saffer accent :?

A mix bag!

I sound like a farmer- oooh ar :D

I be from the south west and ave a trakker :D
