I got one of these - the blue one obviously - but I heard at the baby group today a mum said she got a silicone one from Boots first, as it's not a hard type spout and was an easier transition.

But I'll give this a go and see what happens! LOL. Should we all post our baby food photos in here too? Like Valentines baby led weaning one in the pictures section?

i think the pics is a great idea.

wish i had got a pic of jack this morning, he decided to blow a raspberry right after i'd given him a spoonfull of rice

i would like to join this if its ok, this is what Glenn has now...
6-6.30 am....8oz bottle
9am......Porridge and 3-4oz bottle
12.30-1.30 half a small jar of cow and gate dinner and half tin heinz
pudding and a 4oz bottle
4ish he has another 4oz bottle
6pm he will have either porridge and a 6oz bottle or he will have the rest of the jar from dinner and a 6 oz bottle.
he then sleeps from around 7.30pm til 6-630am

his routine has changed quite a bit lately since being on solids.
he used to go to bed an hour later than this and the week before i slipped another meal in, he was starting to wake at about 2ish thats why i upped the meals and now he is really content again, do you think he is having enough milk?

I *think* babies should be drinking between 26-32oz per day (somewhere around there anyway) so as long as he's there abouts I should think he's fine Rach :)

He's eating a lot!! Your gonna have a big healthy boy on your hands  I've tried Jack on tea before but he was sick so I think he wasn't ready. Gonna try again next week I think

o im all confused :? lol

aww whats wrong hun?? xx

I dont know...lol..its just hard to know how much she wants lol...just gonna stick with the breakfast thing for now...not 100% sure shes completely ready...she seems more satisfied now but shes not having much :?

Haylii.. thats what Jack is like at the moment, I'm giving him baby rice, 1 tablespoon of powder and 4 tablespoons of formula, he started with only a couple of baby spoons full now he's eating the lot, so now i've got that established ok i think on monday i'm gonna try some teatime food. maybe you could do that? gradually increase breakfast and once she seems settled then introduce the tea?

Shell... loving those pics! so cute. will get some of jack asap! :D

i know it sounds alot but it was gradual from around 3 months or thereabouts, he was putting on nearly a full pound in weight every week and that was alot to keep going throught the night and i think thats why he was starting to wake up, my hv said aslong as he was comfortable with it then go ahead, oh and the fact that he is my 4th baby and all the others were good eaters, he has only been having dinner and tea for the last week or so and he has settled really well, he is growing really fast, his dad is 6'3 so i reckon he is getting his length too cos he isnt fat, he is a solid baby.
Haylii&&Mia....dont be confused, your baby will let you know when she wants to eat, dont feel pressured into giving her things just cos other peoples babies are eating this and that, just keep offering her a little bit at a time and she will soon pick it up when she is ready.x

xrachx - it wasn't meant to sound like i was saying it was a lot in a bady way you know :) I know all babes are different, my cousins little girl is same as Glenn, she has brekkie dinner and tea and is younger than Jack. :D

aww yer i didnt take it the wrong way...lol he is a big lad, he weighed 14'10, ten days a go so he will be around 15 and a half pound by the time i get him weighed next wednesday so he has started to settle down with the weight gain he just needs a bit more thats all, my first son (who is now 19) was on rusk from 3 weeks, i couldnt settle him, he was eating 3 weetabix at 8 months old and that was just for his breakfast!
i think some people think there babies should be having things when they dont need it, i was quite happy letting Glenn go with the milk alone until he was toward the weaning age (or so they say..6 months!) but when i had to change him to the Aptamil 2nd milk at 4 days cos the other stuff wasnt filling him i knew we were going to have a good eater, lol he makes a mmm..mmm...mmm..noise when he has his porridge in the morning, he loves it, he is having the cow and gate creamed porridge in the box, try that one, it gets his aproval.x

well tomorrow i am starting Jack on tea, think i'm gonna give him it with his 5 o clock feed, i bought some jars so gonna use them then next week gonna cook some of my own veg! :D

Hiya Girls,

I bought some rice cakes to give to Jack as finger foods, do I just give him them as they are? cos they feel a bit hard  will he not choke?

They disintergrate into nothing once they come into contact with baby dribble, so although they look/feel a bit scary they're a good first finger food because of the gunk they turn into.
