We started weaning Charlie at 4 months to prevent having to give him another 8oz bottle durig the day and help him sleep better as he kept waking. He is going REALLY well and just loves food full stop!!! I am now at the point of changing things as I am back to work and need to sort a new routine with the childminder who has started to introduce snacks...we did agree to the afternoon yoghurt only to find she has also introduced a mid morning snack as well.

His current routine is this:
7am Breakfast & Bottle (usually takes 3oz of milk)
12pm Bottle (usually takes 6-8oz milk)
2.30pm Yogurt (petit folous)
5pm Bottle (usually take 8oz milk)
6.30pm Tea (usually 4 cubes of veg or fruit puree)
8pm Bottle & bed (usually 6-8oz)

Possible new routine:
7am Breakfast & Bottle
10am Snack (Childminder has introduced a small amount of C&G biscuit?)
12pm Lunch (2-4 cubes of puree - not sure what quantity to give him?)
2.30pm yoghurt
5pm Tea (4 cubes of veg or fruit puree)
7pm Rusk
8pm Bottle & Bed

Do you think this would be too much food for a day???
Would this allow for us to cut back his milk gradually to 1 pint within 24 hours or should it be more milk as he loves his food and I restrict the amount to 4 cubes as I know he would have more but not have his milk.....really dont know what to do for the best :(

I think at five months he should still be having loads of milk.

I agree, milk should be the main part of their diet at 5 months. Perhap[s you could make up some of his foods with formula if you need to get more into him?
