**The No Sleep Club**

Yay Brody, that sounds really promising. Seren went to sleep at about 8pm last night and didn't stir til about 3am so she is getting better, am hoping it was a growth spurt. She still wakes a couple of times in the morning but she settles back down really quickly, plus she wakes me up because she is talking not crying so I think that if she wasn't in bed with me she might go back to sleep? I don't want to put her in her own room yet though so will have to get used to it I guess :D . Urchin what age was Brody when you started weaning him?

last night wasn't the best of nights for me... but i had kind of expected it as i had a day out with my friend yesterday and as ruben can't stay awake in the carseat or pram he ended up sleeping far too much during the day...

he went down 1/2 hour later than usual at 7.30, it didn't help that OH's brother arrived on an unexpected visit with his kids who were gutted and a bit upset that i had to put ruben to bed only 15 mins after they got here (tough, i wasn't about to disrupt the routine more than i already had!) whilst i was feeding ruben and settling him for bed in the nursery OH and his brother went out to the shop leaving the kids behind, and ruben's little cousin (7) kept coming upstairs and knocking on the nursery door and trying to open the door, saying "can i see him?? why can't i see him??" - this was enough for ruben to not want to go to sleep, as we usually keep bedtime a quiet time.

he slept until i woke him at just after 10pm for his late feed, went back down ok, then woke at 2am which he hasn't done in ages. he normally lasts til 3am. i fed him and put him back down. he woke at 5.15am and wouldn't settle (i must admit i'm not doing very well with the "controlled crying" to see if he'll resettle himself, i feel like an evil mummy and crack after 5 mins...) so i gave him a small feed around 5.45am and he slept until 7am.

i really wish he'd go back to waking just once around 3.30 and then sleep till 7! many of my friends' babies who are so much younger than him seem to last alot longer and some are even sleeping through! (going green with envy....)

He was 2 days short of being 17 weeks (4 months)
I just couldn't wait anymore with him waking every 2 hours in the night :?

Fingers crossed he'll be sleeping longer from now on ( hahaha does that sound like wishful thinking or what?!?!)

ok, so ruben's gone from having one of the worst nights in a long time, to the best ever last night, despite being irritable all day!!!

put him down at 7pm, i could hear him stirring every so often, but i didn't have to go in to settle him as he seemed to settle himself! (a first!!) then after the late feed he went down without a sound at 11.15pm and slept till 3.50am (20 mins longer than his longest stretch before that - he's never lasted longer than until 3.30am), he fed and was back in his cot at 4.20am, i left him in there and he grunted a bit before drifting off. for the last 2 weeks he's woken up at 5.30am every morning, not settling without boobie, but this morning i had to wake him at 7am!!!

i hope it's not a one off!!!!!

Yay Go Ruben!

Brody had a bad night again, it didn't help I couldn't fall asleep until 2am myself Grrrrrrr!
He was figeting loads in the night and banging on his crib, it kept me awake for ages!

it was a one off...... yaaaawn..................

in fact last night i had both of the men in my house keeping me awake! i'll let the little one off but OH was annoying last night! he went out, got in about 2.30 am, woke ruben when he was going to the bathroom rather drunk, i then had to feed ruben as he started crying. (think he would have slept longer if he hadn't been woken up - grrrrr...) when i got back into bed at just after 3am OH drunkenly tried to have sex with me whilst declaring that he loved me "so so much" - yeah right, like he was gonna get any at 3am after waking ruben and me up!!! when he realised he wasn't getting any, he rolled over and slept - and SNOOOOOOOORED!!!! i didn't sleep after that maybe 1/2 hr just before 7am, as ruben (having been fed earlier than usual) then woke up again at 5am and was impossible to settle without a feed.

i want to SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!

Awwww

Last night I struggled to sleep when Brody was asleep AGAIN!
He woke every 2 hours as usual, but then between 3 and 7 he was fidgeting and feeding etc so I didn't sleep at all after that except maybe an hour before I got up at 10am (at least I got a bit of a lie in)

lisa, i nearly did!!

right ruben's sleep is a bit erratic these days.... nightmare night the previous night, then last night he slept really well, only woke at 4am, fed, and then i had to wake him at 7 to get the routine right! (oh i was SO close to thinking "sod it" and having a lie in.... but i know it would give me a nightmare afternoon and subsequent night if his routine is disrupted too much!)

Brody fell asleep downstairs at 9.30pm I took him up with me at 11 but he didn't want a dream feed.
In his crib I had put his matress inside the big T-shirt I wore to bed the day before, and I had a rolled up towel which I wedged behind him to he could sleep on his side. (he's been very fidgety the last few days, always trying to get into his side)
He woke up at 4am! I'm happy! That's 6 and a half hours!!!

All those having trouble, try the T-shirt mattress thing!

Did you put a nightie or something in the crib? I'd tried a muslin before but the T-shirt must have stank of me LOL

It was my T-shirt from the night before. Maybe you missed the "Baby's sleeping position" thread that I answered to yesterday.
Still, great minds think alike - glad we got some decent sleep!!!

Sorry... see what you mean.... it was the t-shirt I had slept in the night before..... duh!! Lack of sleep has eroded my brain!!

Can I join the club? After sleeping really well for the first few months Aimee has decided she doesn't like sleeping at night! Thought she might have been ill or something but it's been like 8 or 9 days on the run now that she has had me up all night. She doesn't even want feeding!

Well, not the best nights' sleep. It was a good start. O slept from 8 till midnight...feed....awake at 2..... took him into bed at 4!! :wall:
Nevermind... I'm sure we'll get this sorted - SOON would be good though!!
Hope the rest of you had a good night sleep!!

Seren refused to sleep last night, and this morning was full of the joys of spring at 7am. My bags under my eyes are very full at the mo lol

We had quite a good night last night compared to what she has been doing! Bed at 10, woke for a bottle at 1.30 then back down till 4.30 when she drank a whole 2oz. She slept till 5.30 then started crying. Managed to get her back off and she slepped till about 7.30. I'm so happy with that.

OH NO! Hope you get some rest today hun :)

Brody had a good start (9.30-2) then woke up every 2 hours as usual. Still, 4 1/2 hours straight is good for him so I'll going to carry on with the rolled up towel and my stinky T-shirt

Thanks guys for your tip about sleeping on the side, I put Olivia in a grobag last night and she was half asleep when I put her down then she woke up and was really unsettled - arms and legs going like the clappers. Then I tried rolling her onto her side and put a towel behind her and instantly she drifted off to sleep! Honestly it was that quick. That was 11pm - she woke at 2.30 on her back so I just rolled her on her side again and put the towel back and again off to sleep! Then she woke at 5am for food.

Not bad though, especially as she's still getting used to her cot (was in carrycot) and her room (used to be in our room).
