**The No Sleep Club**

I finally had a full night's sleep :D Aaron went down at 9pm and woke up at 6.30am. I feel so much better :D

Yay great news strangeness!

Brody and me had a rough night, he's teething and has a snotty nose and a high temp, he was wide awake for about an hour 3-4am.

Nice to be back... not!!!

Oscar has gone from bad, to great, to absolutely terrible!! What am I going to do? He wakes up shortly after going down and then again when I go to bed... sleeps in between dh and me. Wants boob all night and if he's not suckling, he's kicking the life out of me and practising his crawling! I'm going to be divorced soon if this carries on! Oscar has just cut his 5th tooth, but I'm fed of hearing myself blame "teething". :wall:

Any suggestions?

Awww bummer Emilia

Do you give him Calpol or something before he goes down?
I keep bonjela next to the bed too.
Apart from that there's not much else to suggest I guess, cos I know you've tried loads of stuff already.

Brody now wakes about 4am then 7 am so I can live with that for the time being.

Well it's nice to know that as the founding member of this club I am STILL HERE!
Another bad night last night, he was awake with a tummy ache and runny nappy from 1-2 then kept waking up after that.
I spoke to my HV yesterday. I've been trying Brody with milk aswell of his food during the day, and he hasn't been interested, so now I'm gonna try just giving him as many nutritious snacks between meals as he wants.
He has only ever had feeds (milk and solids) little and often. So going on that, because he never really has a BIG solids meal, I will try him with extra yoghurts and finger food mid morning and mid afternoon.
The idea is I will stop him wanting any milk at night cos he'll be too full.

I was spending all my time trying him with milk cos I was worried he wasnt getting enough. :(

I can't beleive you are still fighting this with Brody Urchin! I think I would have been carted off months ago.

I'd try the food idea. Good luck, and I hope you get a full nights sleep soon!

Ewan will be one next week and STILL doesn't sleep through, he woke last night at 3.00 and had 6 oz, then he was wide awake and started grumbling at 3.40 hubby got up and then gave him another bottle of 8oz!! 14oz! in an hour!!.... and we went back to sleep fine.
I've had a hand ful of nights where he has slept through.
He is now on cows milk and has 3-4 bottles during the day (hes not keen on squash or water) he has brekkie, lunch and tea plus some snacks. so its not like he's not eating during the day.

I don't mind just getting up and giving him a bottle then him going straight to sleep, but we are trying for another and its going to be hard if Ewan is still waking....i'll be knackered!!lol

Yay!!! AND I'M STILL HERE TOO....

It got better and we got some well deserved sleep, sadly, it was short-lived! We're battling along - We are well and truly exhausted. Oscar goes down great for a couple of hours, wakes up and usually ends up in our bed. I wouldn't mind that if he slept, but instead he kicks, growns and demands a 5 second suck from booby every hr or less!!

Hugs to all the sleep deprived mummies out there!!

I didn't really want to post again on this thread!!! However things are bad again in our house. Olivia sometimes goes down well and like Oscar sleeps for a few hours then wakes up - I try settling her with a dummy which sometimes works and other times I give her a feed (she only has a few slurps then falls asleep).

She will sleep soundly if I bring her into our bed and let her graze on booby constantly! I don't think I've helped matters as due to me being so tired (she's been waking up about 5 times a night) I take her into my bed for her morning nap and let her feed/sleep just so I can get some sleep.

I'm not sure whether to bring ber back into our bed at night if it's security she's after or if this will just make it harder to put her back in her own cot!?

 everyone

Well I did really well at this yesterday, he had:

7.30am Ready Brek with pureed fruit
10am 3/4 of a banana and a yoghurt
12pm Brocolli and roasted carrot/parsnip as finger food.
2.30 3/4 jar food
5.30pm 1/2 jar followed by a yoghurt
7pm boob
8pm 3 oz formula

He went down for the night at about 9pm, woke for the first time at 12, then again at 3, 5 and 7

:wall: :wall:

He's in his own room as of last week, I really don't think there is ANYTHING else I can do. I'm stuck with having no sleep forever!!!

Lucy, Emilia, Beanie, I hope you all had more luck than me last night!

Nope - no luck here!! Same nonsense... different day! :wall:

Hi

Urchin - looks like you fed Brody to the brim yesterday! From seeing all that food surely he couldn't be hungry at night as well?! Did he feed at each of those times or just wake up? Does he drink much during the day?

that made me giggle Emilia.

Well I know I will jinx this now and tomorrow I'll be posting that she was up all night but here goes....Thurs and Fri night Olivia slept from 8pm til 5.30am  I was so happy! of course, I still woke up at 2am :wall: my body must just think that's normal now!

Thurs and Fri Olivia ate more solids, she's only just getting weaned now so she's still new with the spoon and finger foods but she's doing well.

Both nights though she wont settle with DH, I have to go up and hold her hand and she rolls over and falls asleep.

Out on interest how much do your boys nap during the day? Olivia has started to sleep longer during the day now.

I'm giving him extra juice in the day in case he's thirsty, he's still not really interested in milk though. He does feed at each of these times, yes.

Hi Urchin

Now I've started Olivia on solids she is bfing less as well.

I wish I had some suggestions for you to try, I know I'll be back in this club very soon but unfortunately looking back over this thread I think we've all tried EVERYTHING!

I knew when baby joe came I would be back in here. He is up every 2.5 hours. I have settled on a milk that is seing him without colic and as its a hungrier baby milk he is going the 2.5 hours but im really shattered.

All he does all day long is sleep and eat and I know I shouldnt complain but the up every 2.5 hours at night is wearing me down as by the time I get him back to his cot im lucky if I get 2 hours before he wakes again for mre food. He is definately hungry but will only take 5oz. I know thats a lot over the 24 hours and he only has a small stomach.

I had posted previously that he likes to sleep on his front and I am soooo unhappy about letting him do it but I have the feeling it might be right for him.

Im going to have a cat nap just now.

Awww Lauramum - I do feel for you - Heidi fed every 2 hours for the first 3 months - its a killer being up that many hours for weeks at a time.

Hope Joe starts taking more

Where have all the insomniac babies gone? Is it only me & Oscar left now?

:?

Sorry Emilia Brody is heaps better :)

Did you see what cracked it for me in the end?

 Nope, we're still in the club!

Urchin, I'm still working my way through your tips that helped Brody. Tried putting her down awake and it sometimes helps but doesn't change her pattern after 2am when she's waking every 2 hrs. Tomorrow night we'll try giving her a bottle only during the night (I'm in the spare room with ear plugs because I need to have a decent sleep!).

Are we the only two still part of the club?

Lucy

Still here too, Seren is waking once a night but last night was hell on earth. Where are these teeth!!!!!!!!
