The Clomid Thread - 6 BFP's!

Oh you should also have a look on the internet, there are lots of natural ways to improve PCOS by controlling diet etc just google natural PCOS solutions or something along those lines and you'll find loads of info xx

Yes I think I will write down anything that I think I might want to ask the specialist in the time that I'm waiting for the appointment. I will have a look on the internet when I get home from work later, I've also heard of some good herbal solutions when it comes to encouraging some kind of cycle again which I think I might look into! Will keep you up to date! .x.x.

Hi ladies,

I am not on clomid but I was wondering if any of you ladies are on it for luteal phase problems?
Just a bit of background, I have endometriosis, been trying for over 18 months with 2 miscarriages, has been almost a year since we last conceived. In the last 6 months or so my periods have been quite changable, my Ov day stays the same CD14 but my luteal phase is changing from month to month, ranging from 10-13 days but yesterday I had a bit of a bleed (just like I wld expect as period starts) and that was only 9dpo, making my luteal phase 8 days!! There isnt much today so not sure if I wld consider it as CD1 yet or not? I always spot between ov and af-as early as 3dpo before but usually from 8dpo onwards.
Anyway, I have said for ages that I think I have progesterone issues, they did 21 day bloods and came back 36.2-I knew I ovulated anyway but I know something is off, I have all the signs of luteal phase defect;

More frequent periods
Miscarriage
Difficulty getting pregnant
Spotting in between periods

Do you think they will give clomid for this? anyone got experience of this? x

Hi hun,
I know for sure that clomid increases progesterone levels as it really did mine.
But funnily enough i didnt conceive on it, i found it dried all my cm up!
I conceived after not taking it for 2 months - if it helped boost or not ill never know.
Lets hope thye you let you try it? def cant do no harm.
I have two months worth left of they dont i can send it to you. xxx

Thanks Corrinne,

Are there any risks to taking it? I know it can make endo a bit worse but so many ladies that have endo are still given it.
I have read it can dry things up but wld maybe use some lube? sperm friendly of course.

I just wish they would listen to me, I have been telling them for months there isnt something right from Ov to AF but at least I have my referral to wait for and hopefully they will offer that or something else that will help. If they don't I wld love to take you up on the offer :) xx

Looks like I'm back in here for the next 6 months (although I obviously hope to leave sooner!). Had my HSG today and both tubes are clear. Back on to clomid for another 6 rounds.

Hope all the other clomid ladies are doing well. There doesn't seem to be much going on in here recently...time we had another/more BFPs! x

Hey ladies!!! I have been gone for a while!!! Ok so this is my update and I need some help! I got off clomid 2 months ago. First month we tried and no luck this month we didnt try and this is whats happened. Last night (10 dpo) I was really nauseous and had tons of heartburn so I woke up around 4am and took a test (good pee) after one min (neg) I threw the test away...later in the am I picked up the test and its what I think positive (or evap line)...tried to take another one with not so good pee (drank a bottle of water, pee was actually clear) and it was neg. Now I dont know what to think...help! :wall2:

JoJo it does look like a good line but I'd probably wait a day or two and re-test to be sure. Hope this is it for you though! :) x

Hi Nicky, I'm ok.. Still trying to lose weight, have dropped just over a stone so I'm on the right track, got around 7 - 9 pounds left to lose but I'd love to lose more.. It's addictive seeing my weight go down on the scales, just wish the exercise got easier lol! As for the baby stuff, I'm on my 3rd natural cycle after Clomid, just got one more blood test to do then we ring my consultant to get the referral for IUI or IVF pushed through then we wait for the appointment.. So waiting again I suppose!!

How're you? Lovely avatar piccie btw. :)

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining your thread :) I've just found out that I have a unicornuate uterus (half a uterus) and I have been prescribed clomid 50mg to take days 2-6. Having my 21 bloods done on Monday to check progesterone before I start. Af is due in around 2 weeks although most of the time she doesn't show when expected! Ill be starting clomid then. I've been prescribed 3 months worth and if no luck by then ill be put on the ivf list and prescribed more clomid until we can have ivf. So scared about this journey now as if I do get pregnant it's going to be high risk! It's been a stressfull week so I decided to come back on to the forum after over a month away to see how everyone else is doing and to read some success stories! Anyway just wanted to get some advise on clomid, reading the last few posts I'm guessing I'm gonna have to invest in some sperm friendly lube!! Xx

Hiya Charlie :) Welcome to the Clomid Thread!

I also have a weird uterus - its didelphic which basically means a double womb but one side is blocked so technically I have half a uterus too! I know what you mean about it being scary being high risk, I'm the same, desperate to be preggers but scared at the same time!

I've also got PCOS so hence the reason I'm being prescribed clomid, I'm on my 3rd round at the moment, currently in my 2ww. I haven't really noticed a difference in my CM since taking Clomid but some sperm friendly lube wouldn't do any harm. I used Conceive plus before and really liked it, TMI but it was good at keeping all the swimmers in e.g no leakage lol And also I would try and take the clomid a bit later at night as this helps avoid some of the side effects, I've not really been to bad with it, just hot flushes and the odd headache now and again.

With you being high risk did they tell you what to do once you find out you're pregnant? No one has told me what happens after that or what I'm supposed to do e.g first appointments etc xx

Ahh thanks for your reply, I also have pcos but not too bad only slightly. My dr seems confident the clomid will work but who knows! When I conceive ill have to have a scan almost immediately to check it has implanted on the right side although he's said he doesn't think there is anywhere for it to implant on my bad side but we need to be sure. I've read that a lot of women have a weak cervix with this condition so I've heard that a lot of women get put on bed rest. It is also possible for them to put a stitch in to prevent preterm labour as its common to go into labour early. My pregnancy will be monitored closely due to it being high risk. It's nice to know help is there when the time comes. Makes me feel less stressed about it all. My next appointment is in July when if nothing's happened ill be put on ivf waiting list whilst continuing clomid. Fingers and toes crossed ill be pregnant by then!!

Good advice to take it at night as I'd of probably just took it in the morning! Thanks :) xx

Thanks for the info! I'll probably do the same then, when I conceive I'll give the clinic a ring and see what they want to do :) They never mentioned before about a scan to see where bean implants. I have heard about the bed rest etc, it makes you feel better knowing they will take extra care. Hope the clomid works for you hun, I'm feeling positive this month, got a good feelin lol testing on the 14th! Let me know how you get on :) xx

Ahh good luck! I'm due on in about a week so it wud be a miracle if I fell pregnant just before starting clomid haha! Fingers crossed for you, positivity is good :) xxx

Will keep my Fx for you too hun! Let's hope you don't need clomid after all :) xx
