Happy new year everyone! Well i put the ivf on hold until after Christmas and now I have 6 weeks until we get the ball rolling. My OH and I have packed in the drink and are cutting down to no more than 2 teas a day. I've researched some vitamins and I'm starting back at the gym today. The part I think I am going to struggle with most is the stress side of it all and the healthy meal plans.

Just wondering if any of you lovely ladies have any good meal ideas or tips on not letting the stress get to u too much?

I know there is an ivf thread but I didn't want to intrude as the ladies on there are already going through ivf process and I'm not quite there yet. I will be joining you all in 3-4 months time I would imagine! (Although I'm sure u will have ur bfps by the. :) ) so if there is anyone at my stage who needs a buddy, I'd love to have someone to go through it with.

Xxx

Hi xxcharliexx good luck, we have our first appt with the private clinic next Monday. Not really sure how quick things are going to move from there for us but there is a chance we may have to go down DE route but hoping there may be something they can do first. We are trying to get back on the exercise again, especially as we have brought our wedding forward to 3 months time along with the ivf side of thing happening at some point soon. I'm doing slimming world, there are some lovely healthy recipes even if you don't follow it strictly. I'm not aware of your story. Hopefully this is the year for all of us on here though xx

Hey Charlie I'm kind of at the same stage, perhaps a little behind you as I've kind of got a three month timeframe in mind to cut out the booze etc and get my head in the right place, we'll only try once as we're self funding and I'm not quite ready to deal with it not working so need to be ship shape and positive. We've started the 5:2 diet pArtly for weight loss but more for the supposed health benefits. We're going to an open evening at a clinic tomorrow so I might ask about nutrition if I get a chance xx

Hi Lucy! You will have to let me know how u get on at ur appointment! :)

I've been ttc for nearly 3 years now and had the 6 months clomid that didn't work. I have a unicornuate uterus (half a womb) so half the chance! I still have both ovaries that both work but obviously only one will help me get pregnant. I'm hoping ivf will work for us and help make sure everything is in the right place and hope my lil womb makes a nice enough home! :)

I think I'll have a nosey at the slimming world recipes then :) sounds good!

What's ur story xx

Hi dee! How are u?
I've had 3 months break too to try prepare myself but Christmas got in the way so I've got 7 weeks now to get a bit fitter! But it's given time to get the clomid out my system and let my body work for itself!

How's the 5:2 diet going? I might look into that. :)

When do u think u will start? I think my actual ivf will be in May! How exciting! Xx

Hey lovey. The diet is going ok, today was my second fast day and I have been hungry but no unbearably so! Bloody fancy a glass of wine though!

I'm not sure of exact timings yet, as we're self funding it can all happen very quickly once we press the button so to speak and we're not quite ready yet so I'm thinking it may well be April/May time. We went to visit Bourne hall in Colchester last night and I think that's where we'll go for the treatment, feel a bit more positive than I gave been, their success rate is around 45% so was heartened by that given well most likely only afford one try.

Where are you based? Do you know your clinic yet? Xx

I'm in Liverpool. Not sure where we will actually have all the treatment tho. Think we find all that out once paperwork is filled in.

I'm keeping up with my gym and healthy eating so far. Can't move my arms today tho haha! About to tuck into a delicious bowl of cornflakes mmmm haha! Xx

Hi Charlie. Slimming world is fab, even if you just do the recipes... We make home made curries, from scratch. No jars, all fresh ingredients, they are yummy. There is even a completely free all day breakfast, lol..

My story so far, been ttc for 15 months, had irregular periods, pushed for tests, anyway found out in nov I have high fsh levels and now found out my ovaries are extremely small and not very active. The nhs won't help us so having to pursue private but we have to get on with it asap as if there is a chance they can get some of my eggs out now we need to go for it. So roll on Monday hopefully get the answers we need and our options. Xx

Ahh sounds like ur having a tough time with it all too! Let me know how u get on Monday! Lots of luck and hope u get some answers to the million and 1 questions I'm sure u have floating round in ur mind xx

How's it going Charlie? Have you had any more appointments? Xx

Ah only just seen this dee! I'm starting ivf! Papers r signed, waiting on next appointment, should be going through it in about 10 weeks! How's u xx

Hey, glad your ball is rolling along, it'll zoom by. I'm held up starting by needing an hsg, I have that in 2 weeks so assuming I recover quickly I may well be close to your start date
