so annoyed, dont know what to think

so as most of you peeeps know i got bfp on all 5 tests today i got an appointment with a foreign doc and i showed him todays tests he said there positive so he took one of the doc tests, the line came up faint ish but seeable and he said he would class that as negative but prescribed me with folic and told me to contact my old miwife so i did and she told me to ignore what hes said as if its faint its still positive i just wanna know which person would you agree with midwife or the doc xx

When it comes to pregnancy, I would always go with the midwife, they have more experience than a GP in that area. But I do have a slightly biased opinion!

I agree, midwife knows best. My mum was a midwife and my dad a gp and mum knows more

Some gps get things wrong. Stick with the midwife. Hopefully in a few days you'll get an indisputable BFP.

just took another clear response one and its a positive haha ive gone crazy bought 12 tests need to get a digi at somepoint though

12??!! Haha. I did feel a bit better when it was a digital one, but don't worry. Leave them now and do one tomorrow. Try and save some for later in the week

Your doctor is an idiot! A line is a line, I don't understand how he can say he would class it is a negative, it's only negative if you can't see a line! So don't worry, you're definitely pregnant

I can imagine bless you. I can remember my gp coming out with some really stupid comments when I had some concerns about my DS and it was just lucky that I knew what he was saying was wrong because obviously most of the time we trust what our doctors tell us. But a really helpful health visitor said something I'll never forget - GPs do their best but we expect them to know everything about everything and that's not quite possible, they're not specialists in any one area, they just know a little about lots of areas so they're bound to get things wrong sometimes. Unfortunately it seems that pregnancy is one area that they really struggle with xxx

as i have read on the leaflets of all pregnancy tests i have ever taken it says that if the line is faint it is still positive, my pregnancy test with my first baby was incrediably faint, i was only 5 weeks gone which is probably why, but i was defenately pregnant, take no notice of that doc hun, i mean 5 bfps is enough to tell you you're defo preggers , just relax and a enjoy your pregnancy

a line is a line, it's pos hun - ignore your docs, over here they wouldn't even do a preg test at docs , just go by yours... get a digi and then he can read the words PREG!! on it... listen to your midwife...

thanks everyone youve all cheered me up as i believed i was but when hed said that i thought my hopes had gone will keep you informed as i see my oldd midwife soon as shee looked aafter me after my stillborn so she knows il need extra care xx

You can NOT have a false positive as if there is a line it means the hormone is in your system... That hormone can only be in your system when you are pregnant. Sometimes if you are pregnant but test too early it can say negative as its to early to pick up te hormone even though you are infact pregnant and this is why you can get a false negative but there is no such thing as a false positive. I really wish people such as your doctor would be more sensitive to emotions. If you have a line Hun you are preggas.... Congratulations and happy new year xx

aw thanks yes ive decided im not seeing him anymore messing with my head im meant to keep calm now but him saying i got negative when there was two lines on his test is a joke and i said you cant get false positives he said ya can idiot

Sorry to hear about your doctor katie he sounds like an idiot!!

I just wanted to tell you ... i got my bfp on 20th december and i went my doctors on xmas eve with a possible urine infection, he did a pregnancy test .. bfn .. and i went my local walk in centre as i thought i may be having an ectopic on i think it was boxing day or last thursday, i ended up going A&E saturday night they did a pregnancy tes t... positive

my local A&E said that i may have tested negative because i was/am so early on. I know my situation isnt the same at yours, but a line is a line x
