Hi ladies,

As the title says really. Aldi have raspberry leaf tea in at the moment. Can't actually remember how much it was but it wasn't near their normal teabags, it was round by the specials section with the special pasta and fudge, etc. Not sure how long it'll be around for but might be worth stocking up for anyone who's planning on drinking it pre-birth.

Just a little story while I'm at it... and I'm sure others will have stories that completely contradict this and tell me it didn't make a blind bit of difference, but I'll tell it anyway...

I didn't bother with raspberry leaf tea first time round. Just wasn't on my radar. However a friend of mine said that immediately after giving birth, the midwife asked her if she'd been drinking it and when she replied that she had, the midwife said "I could tell" - not exactly sure how she could tell, but she had a good labour/birth so I'm planning to give it a try this time round.

I drank it and also had the capsules and I was induced due to reduced movements but my active labour was only 4 hours and pushing 11 mins so I do think it helped me xx

Started the tablets at 34 weeks I think. Went into labour at 38 weeks, labour was OK. Pushed her out in less than 10 mins heh :) will be taking again if we have another :)

JT they're supposed to help you in labour etc x

Thanks PB great shout! Was going to order online but will look in aldi first.

Justtrying there's some evidence to suggest it helps tone your uterus to assist in labour. The idea is to start a low dose (eg if tea bags one cup a day) and slowly build up to 2-3 a day. Have a google though as there's some instances where you shouldn't have it (like high BP).

I saw this too but didn't buy, don't know why! I drank it with first and I'll be doing it with this one too. Top tip- it's bloody lovely cold over ice cubes and lime slices! X

Ooh amazing idea deedee thanks! Do you think it helped your labour?

I don't know, but my son came early (37wks) and it was a very fast labour!
