Prams

We loved the egg when pram shopping but couldn't justofy tue cost and unlikely to get a 2nd hand one this early. There is so much choice out there we watched video demos and went and physically played with as many as possible. Made such a big mistake with ds pram as went with a popular one at the time and it was bulky and heavy.

Ok, we now have the Mothercare Roam, Red Kite Push Me Fusion, Britax Affinity, Joie Crome and Ickle Bubba Stomp V2 on our list to look at, any feedback on any of these? xx

OK, we've been to see most of them, looks like we're doing with the armidillo xx

Car seat wise I'm not bothering with one that clips onto the pram this time as I make tall babies and my daughter was to tall by 7 months with her head out the other end so I'll be getting a seat that can be used from birth to 4 z

Online the armadillo is only £200 now xxx

Yeah, the armidillo flip xt isn't though!
The travel system with the pram, carrycot, adaptors, car seat, isofix base and raincovers is currently on offer for £750, which I don't think is too bad? But then are they likely to bring out a new model within the next 6 months and then this one will come down in price? xx

Oh lol yeah I wondered why in the shop the pushchair alone was £400 and now this online is 200 haha. No that's too bad to be fair, the egg I was looking at before (which won't fit in my car :( ) was £700 just for the pram, the car seat was £320, the carry cot was £180, the adapters were about £35 I think. And get this the changing bag (which was tiny) was £180!! Xxx

I know, the price of things are crazy aren't they! I've worked out that if you buy it all seperately it's £903, so the offer gives you quite a good saving! xx

Yeah I was just looking online at the armadillo bundles, and the saving is awesome really and it comes with the cybex atom Q, which lays down nearly flat, which is what I wanted anyway. We looked at it yesterday and I'm sure the car seat was £240 and the base was £110 so it makes far more sense to get the bundle! Eeekkkk I'm so excited about it haha xxxx

Hey, the Cybex Aton Q doesn't lie flat, but the Cybex Cloud does. The aton is designed so baby's head, neck and chest is flat. The Cloud however allows the baby to fully lie flat when out if the car. The whole seat slides out flat (we just ordered ours today and had to check with the shop assistant) on the up side, we upgraded to the Cloud plus for an extra £55.

Oh thanks Hun that's really helpful actually, that's a bit sneeky the website lead me to think (as the picture) kinda shows the baby laying flat. So what is the atom platinum? I was in m&p yesterday I'm sure it was the platinum I was looking at and the lady said it laid flat? I'm so confused haha xx

We like the oyster maxi tandem in electric blue, they are so expensive though aren't they x

They certainly are and I'm completely torn with buying it now in the sales or risking it coming down in price within the next 6 months! xx

I think the Platinum is just the difference in style? Maybe a newer version? I'm not sure. Website details for both say:

Aton Q:
Telescopic Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. System)
Removable seat insert
Height-adjustable headrest with integrated harness guide
Matching integrated XXL foldaway sun canopy
Travel system with CYBEX and other brand pushchairs

Cloud Q:
Ergonomic lie-flat position outside the car
Removable newborn inlay for premature and very small babies
11-position height-adjustable headrest with integrated harness guides
Telescopic Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. System)
Integrated XXL foldaway sun canopy
Travel system with CYBEX and other brand pushchairs
Complies with the new ECE R-44/04 Supplement 7

There is a clear function on the cloud at the back of the seat that physically slides the whole seat section out so you can see its flat. If they can't show you that in the shop it doesn't have it!!

I also know the new Kiddy car seat has a similar lie flat function too, depending on how much you can/are prepared to spend on a car seat, as I think they work out a bit cheaper. They are also German made I believe (don't quote me on that though!), so come with really good safety ratings too.

We're ordering our armidillo flip xt on Saturday, I can't wait, I'll be so glad to have that done and just not have to think about it any more :-) Mamas and Papas are currently doing the full travel system for £750, you can put down a deposit of 25% now and pay the rest in installments up until collection and if anything goes wrong with the pregnancy along the way or even after the birth when you have already collected it they will provide a full refund! xx
