Opinion on a girls name please....

Indie is my favourite name for a girl but OH isn't convinced by it. I've loved it for ages and haven't found anything else that I want to go for x

Indi, indy, indie are on our list so I def like it :)

Stalking this now! A friend called her wee girl Annella. Another Rosabelle? Both a bit different but variations on a theme! X

Indiana is no longer a contender.

Everyone on RL I have mentioned it to hates it. I can take a bit of hate but it's been unanimous

Now we know baby is a girl (I am still going to get them to double check at next scan!!) it's become so much harder.

We literally like no girls names at all

X

I feel your pain hun, as you know we have really struggled with girls names and still just about have a shortlist but I know I'm not going to have a definite girls name ready and it annoys me. Weren't you thinking of Imogen? xxx

OH has ruled out Imogen, said it's too "posh"

We both like Elizabeth but it's more a middle name to me?

We have massive families so that discounts a good few names as well.

X

Lovely news re your wee girl! The girls names we liked this time were Ruth, Rachel and Esther. I also loved Catherine and Lauren x

Totally backing Zilch!! Unique and you know no one else will have it! Lol

In all seriousness, we too are struggling and only have 2 names that we like but don't love.

Imogen is a lovely name, what about Phoebe? x

I did suggest Phoebe, OH always refers to the episode of Friends with Rachel's sister who keeps asking Phoebe why she keeps 'making that funny noise' when she says her name

He doesn't think its a real name :wall2:

OH is more fussy than I am.

We both keep coming back to Elizabeth but it's a bit boring?

Indiana is a lovely name.
It's so hard though when people don't like it. Makes you feel that people won't like your baby doesn't it.
Felt really sorry for my cousin when she called her baby Lola. No one liked it. They all felt it was like 'Lola the showgirl and slutty'.
But she was a gorgeous little baby at the end of the day and now everyone loves her name because they love her. She's almost 6 now and is often called Lollipop lol.

You go with what you want!
Your baby!

I wouldn't say Elizabeth is boring as it's one of those names that u can shorten (if u like) or they can shorten as they get older
Liz
Lizzie
Libby
Beth
Bess
Ellie
Liza

We really struggled for a girls name, I found them either plain or too popular. I had a list as long as my arm for boys!

We only decided on harpers name 3 days before she was born. We were going to call her sophia, which I didn't love as such, but it was the only name we could agree on.

OH wanted to call her delfina (it's an anagram of anfield, liverpools football pitch..) say no more. That was a big no!

Names on my list were Lola, sienna, Freya (all of which OH hated)

The hardest part is not finding the name but agreeing on one! Well that was the hardest part for us anyway lol xx

We struggle too for girls names I knew the middle name would be rose after my grandma the names I liked were
Isla
Lyla
Erin
Mia
And we went with Macie rose as when she was born it just suited her perfect xxx

We were team yellow last time and even at 41w we didn't have a girls name.

OH would suggest a name and then 'go off it'. We lost Erin, Holly and Summer that way - all OH's suggestions, all of which he then decided he hated :wall2: :wall2:

I actually don't have much to bring to the table. I don't "love" any girls names.

A few I find OK - Elizabeth, Jessica, Charlotte, Imogen.

When I find the name I think I'll know it (we both did with James - never even had a back up name)

X

Personally I love Elizabeth and Charlotte, both names sound great with James.

A list of more obscure names i thought up. I love Elizabeth (Libby or Beth) but with a James already its all sounds a bit "royal" if you get me?
Ophelia
Kitty
Eden
Janey
Lola
Kira
Liv
Rowan
Rhea
Eloise
Halle
Zoe
Paige
Lauren
Callista
Emer
Roni
Merle
Seren
Heidi
Sasha
Talia
Darcy

Thanks Lynds.

Will run the past my OH. Reckon he'll veto most of them as they are a bit untraditional for his liking.

What do we think of Juliette?

Think it goes lovely with James but hate any of the diminutives (Julie, Jules)

What else would it be shortened to though? Ettie?
