November 2020 mums

Eeek amazing! Congratulations :D

Now, instead of the pink and blue storks for boy and girl on the front page I was planning on just writing it like this...

EmilyMaria: Boy

...and then putting the word in any colour you like. Is that ok with everyone? :) If so, @EmilyMaria, what colour would you like for your son? :D

Can I have green?

It was a fun appointment. Its so nice seeing everything in more detail. It was meant to be a long appoinment, but it went so quickly in the end. Bubs heart rate was 140. Our sonographer initially said it was looking very girly... but bub was being a big cheeky and had his bits hidden tucked up between his legs which we soon saw.

I was in for a little surprise at the end when we did a 5 minute transvaginal scan to look at the cervix, but it was not uncomfortable, and my cervix was doing what cervix's are meant to do at this stage and stayed tightly shut. Bub kindly moved and started headbutting my cervix for the duration.

Head butting your cervix sounds so uncomfortable! Naughty wee boy, haha! I have changed it to green on the front page :) Hopefully we end up with a nice rainbow of colours!

Loving that some of us are already at the stage of finding out the gender .
We haven't found out with either of our boys so will remain team yellow this time too .

I’ll add ‘team yellow’ next to your name on the front page :)

And to think I couldn't feel a thing!

How crazy is it that our bubs are having partys in there and we do not have a clue.

Yeah! It's really strange to think a whole little person is wriggling around inside of us and we don't feel it!

I'm 17 weeks today! Baby is almost the length of one of those little child rulers, lol.

Is it just me, or is pregnancy going quicker as time goes by. Tri 1 felt like a crawl compared to Tri 2.

It definitely has for me! The time from my twelve week scan to my appointment this week has just disappeared and now there's only three weeks until my 20 week scan. It's crazy.

Hubby felt his very first baby kicks today too. I'm 20 weeks on Sunday. Almost halfway.

Wow a transvaginal ultrasound at the end, that must have been a surprise. Really glad everything is okay!!

Ah! That's what I meant to ask you guys! Do we need a full bladder for the 20 week scan? I haven't had any letter or anything about it so have no idea.

@Leoni @Jesi @Kelly1991 and @Laurent how are you getting on?

Everywhere seems to do things differently. I live in a regional town so they take extra care where I live to screen for conditions that can't be managed by my hospital. They can make arrangements for high risk pregnancies to go to the city.

Looking at the cervix for 5 consecutive minutes can be a screen for mums who might have cervix incompetence and drop their baby early.

Ok cool. I'll try and do it exactly like last time. If I can remember what I did... haha.

My appointment was at 1100.

Bladder was emptied at 9.30

Then I drank a litre of water between 9.30 and 10.30.

It was wonderful when I finally got to go have a wee ;)

Oh wow! I don't think I could manage that haha!

For my 12 week scan my appointment was at 4.30. I completed emptied my bladder then drank half a pint of water at 3.30. We left for the hospital at 4.00 and I went to the loo right before we left. We were waiting for about fifteen minutes at the hospital so in those 45 minutes my bladder had filled up nicely and I was still comfortable. Not sure what it will be like with a larger baby sitting on top of it this time though!

They told me just to drink a glass of water this time so not as much as we had to drink for the 20 week scan. If they think your bladder is too full they will ask you to empty it, baby is alot bigger this time round so you dont need a full bladder. x

hello :) I’m good thanks. Struggling with tiredness the past couple of weeks. Had my 16 week midwife appointment today, everything fine. Just counting down now until my 20 week scan on 3rd July.
