November 2018 Testing Thread

Whoop whoop, who is testing tomorrow? Please start us off with some good lines!

Good luck to everyone this month!

Char just had to say I also hate Halloween... so glad it’s about to be over so we can get to the good stuff! Thanksgiving is my personal favorite (though I know I’m one of the few on here who actually celebrate it!)

Glad I’m not the only one.
Although I am actually on my way to see my niece and nephew because they wanted to show me their Halloween costume. I will be happy for 1st November tomorrow :)

The costumes are cute, but why do we have to throw so much garbage candy at kids??? If they could dress up and then have a cozy little party with, like, apple cider and pumpkin pie and maybe even caramel apples if you really want to go all out, then fine. But the part where they have to get like 5 pounds of pure crack cocaine in brightly colored wrappers is really what gets to me. Holidays are all about warm-and-fuzzy feelings, family, rituals... Halloween is the dead opposite of everything wonderful about a holiday! Wish I could throw out all the candy after a day without traumatizing everyone!! And don't get me started on how adults feel they can behave on Halloween... my husband is a bar manager you can only imagine the stuff he sees when he works on Halloween. Adults acting worse than I'd ever let my toddler behave!

Anyway, back to the subject at hand... GOOD LUCK everyone!

I'm approaching the end of my fertile window. How many days generally does it take to start showing symptoms? Last time I didn't really get any but that ended in early mc

You can experience symptoms I would say from 3dpo x

Blimey that's quick! I was expecting more 9dpo lol! Ok well I will wait and see what happens. My peak was picked up on my test yesterday morning. So I'm assuming by now I have definitely ovulated. I got no symptoms really until my AF was due last time i conceived. Even then I didn't get too much really.

Excited for November to arrive! I feel like I’ve been waiting for it FOREVER. In September I had my 2nd MC and my from said I should have a cycle off TTC. My specific words to my hubby were ‘I want to go to sleep and wake up in November’ so you have no idea how much I’ve been longing for this! Haha.

1st November testing ladies where are you? Good luck :clover: and I hope you get us off to a fantastic :BFP: start this month x

Best of luck to you. So sorry to hear of your mc. I too had one in August. I used a CB ovulation kit for the first time this month so I feel like I have done everything I possibly can for this month to be the month! All I can to is hope and wait...

Hi Ladies,
According to Ovia my AF id due tomorrow so testing day BUT I am going to hold off as my cycle lengths have varied by a few days over the last few cycles.
No major symptoms for me at the moment apart from mild cramps, I've had a pain in my left boob fro a few days now but I'm not reading much into that!

Good Luck to everyone testing this month xx

Hats off to you! I wouldn't be able to hold off testing! Good luck if you do!;)

Well nearly testing day for me and I've gotten home from being out for samhien to some brown spotting so we shall see if full flow hits

Good luck to all the ladies this month! Could I please have the 26th?

So I caved and tested this morning instead of the 5th as I've been feeling so bloated and weird past few days... my DH even encouraged me to test... and I'm only 11 or 12dpo but I'm starting off the November thread with an early BFP!!! I still can't believe it! Shaking as I'm posting this!

Well I survived my day on maternity and helped with lots of assessments and listened to triage. They mostly get calls for ladies with a little bleeding which if it is bright red, always needs investigating. But honestly most of the calls were just for advice and noone needed to come in. A few were for 'think my waters have broken', some contracting and some not. There were only 2 in full labour and they had students with them already so weren't keen on having me in there as well. Two elected c sections were planned but as both were quite rare cases, there literally was a queue of student surgeons and midwives to see them so no chance for me.
Then I was chatting to a midwife on the delivery suit who said her induced lady would be pushing within 15 minutes. She asked them if I could be there too and she said that was fine so finally I was able to see a birth and understand how long they leave you for, before making a decision to help. The birth became a complicated one, mum and baby all fine but soon a lot of staff were involved and the mum needed to go to theatre after baby had been delivered due to post partum haemorrhage. I have actually had thay happen to me on shift before and I don't remember being able to hit a buzzer and a team of 10 come running so whilst I think they do and did a fantastic job, I also am proud with how 3 of us dealt with a similar (not quite as severe) situation in a ambulance a couple of years ago!
Dad was left behind whilst they took mum to theatre. Poor bloke looked absolutely terrified when the emergency button was pressed and staff came in and it all became quite fast and frantic. The baby was safe and in the crib next to me at that point. So as not to get in the way I stood back but was checking dad was OK and telling him what was going on. I stayed with him for a while after too as he was quite shocked. I told the lady who came and weighed baby that dad hadn't had a hold yet so she sorted and wrapped him up and I for dad a chair so he could relax with little one. I say little one, he was 9lb9! I think that may have had something to do with the bleeding.

So an amazing day. And a privalege to be present for a birth. I'm glad I was there and able to talk to the husband about what was going on.
