Mummies Running Club :D

Thanks hun, I will definitely be resting it, cant take the chance because if i make it worse i could be out of action a lot longer.

How are you feeling today? Hope your not too stiff. Did you get any piccies? X x

Well done rednursie!! U done fab!

Does anyone know, that I'm preggers what excercise I can do? X

Pos, is there something ive missed?? Aslong as your body is used to the exercise your doing you should be fine, i know people who have run marathons pregnant (not advisable though!) just not sit ups, abs work x x

Oh yes, u must have lol! I had a VERY shocking bfp! Not sure how far I am, haven't done anything other than sit here and worry for the past week! How old was Adam when Lexi was born?

Iv been running thru the first weeks of pregnancy a fair bit but I'm not fit, not at all. But I am still really overweight so want to be fit throughout this pregnancy!

Xx

Huge Congratulations hunny, im over the moon for you : D
At first Adam was very jealous but its lovely seeing them play together now, Lexi copies off him and its so cute  x x

I'm pretty sore to be honest. Am glad there are no stairs in my Mums. Going from sitting to standing is really sore! I only managed a small walk today (my legs are very uncoordinated it's weird!) I'm going to go for a longer walk in the morning to see if that helps. (I have a feeling this pain will still be here tomorrow!) I have some swelling inside my right ankle too so will have to stay off running for a little while I think. I have quite a few PT sessions at the gym though which is good. I remember stepping on a bottle top and think I went over a bit on it-didn't really feel any pain at the time but I guess running that mileage on it would have been enough. Also a funny thing happened-Apologies if TMI- I had to go to the loo four times! It wasn't uncontrolable but it was a definite case of runners tummy. Never thought that would happen to me. Didn't change anything on the day of my run-Or the days leading to it so a bit puzzled.
I have some piccies but I am a bit scared of posting my mug on here so I will pm you. I've got a before and after :)

Positivity OMG your preggers!!!!! I'm always on here how did I miss that!!!! I think your good to do most things your already used to doing? Most people are very cautious in my experience but as M2A said if your already used to it it's fine. Congratulations!!! The whole reason I signed up for a marathon was to forget about TTC (lol I thought I'd be preggers by the time marathon came round so wouldn't have to actually do it haha!) Socmaybe I'll be joining you soon :) xxx

It will ease but the key is to keep moving no matter how much it hurts!

Ive done 30mins on the bike staying over 100rpm, 20mins on the x-trainer (with no pain woohoo!) and some leg weights tonight. I did my upper body and core this morning.
I got talking to one of the swimming instructors about deep water running to keep my fitness up during injury and they are going to get me a belt in - i love my gym, they always look after me :) x x

Woohoo calf/shin is feeling a bit better today, i can just about walk without limping :)
To keep me motivated i entered another race for next year, so i have two entries and a potential race calendar that looks very healthy, i just need to stay fit and healthy now x x

Hi guys  I've been awol but wanted to come in and say well done Rednursie on your marathon, you did fantastic. How are you feeling?

M2A check you out entering lots more races for next year, hope 2013 is a great year for you :-)

Hey Sassy  how are you? Have you been out recently?
Just wanted to wish you Happy Anniversary hunny  x x

NY Marathon has been cancelled on Sunday, i feel for my 2 friends that have gone over, i know whats happened is very sad and my thoughts are with everyone that has been effected but they have left it pretty late to cancel it especially for anyone travelling far, most of them will already be there! One of my friends is absolutely devastated, she only went over there for that, shes left her kids at home and she was in tears when she got told, she worked so hard to qualify for a place too, lets hope they get automatic entry into 2013 x x

Well my legs felt the best they'd since the marathon yesterday :) I'm going to a body pump class this evening and hoping to go a couple of times a week from now on at my gym. Need to really work on my core stability so going to use this time before I start training for next marathon to do so. I hope your leg continues to feel better m2a? Sassy I hope your well and managing to get out. Positivity are you going to keep running for now? Xxx

Glad your legs are feeling normal again Rednursie.

Leg is still feeling ok, not up to running on it yet though, going to give it another week or so yet and hope the full xray report doesn't show anything that the nurse didnt find. I
had a killer knot in my calf too, that my foam roller would reach, so i tried a golf ball, hurt like hell last night but feeling better for it today.
Got 5 weeks till my next race, was thinking i may have to cancel but if things keep improving with my leg i may just make it :) x x

Does anyone use Nike running shoes?
Ive had a pair of Lunars a few years back but went to adidas, asics and saucony after that. But ive found a pair of Nikes that are recommended for heal strikers, OH said he would get me them for Christmas but im a bit wary as im not used to training/racing in Nikes x

My last two pairs have been Nike. Did all my marathon training in them and found then ace. Had gait assessments prior to buying both xxx

Thanks Rednursie, think i might get them off OH for christmas and give them a try, the rating in runnersword is fantastic, the only thing is they are very white so will get dirty very easy, not my normal colours as they are orange too - OH will have to get me some matching kit ;)
Im waiting for a gait assessment to get insoles made as one of my feet overpronate and the other is neutral :wall: but i tend to go for neutral trainers now as (after many pairs with different gaits) they seem to be the best ones for my knees! x

Yeah I bet they look fab! I'm signed up for a 10k on the 25th November. Hoping to get a personal best of 58 minutes or under (I know I am very slow-Just can't run fast lol) I am looking for a training plan for Paris marathon which is 20 weeks away if anyone has any suggestions? I'm hoping for a 4.30-4.45 finish so thinking of the Hal Higdon intermediate 2 if anyone knows it? Just over 18 weeks! Xxx

What 10k have you signed up for hun? Ive got the Tatton Yule Yomp on 9th Dec, just got my fingers crossed ill be ok by then as im looking forward to my first trail race.
Have you done any running lately? Its driving me around the bend being injured, cant wait to get back out again x x
