MMR jab?!

I think that you put your point across in a fab way inky, your views aren't made aggressively or in a condescending manner, it's great on a thread like this :) x

Thanks Cosmic, it's always difficult to know how you're coming across on a forum at the best of times, let alone with a topic as evocative as this x

I know what you mean ;)
There are definitely ways to say things in a nice way without bulldozering everyone with your views and belittling those who don't agree.
I think you made your point beautifully :) xx

Not meaning to scare monger, simply explaining my friends version of her son having the MMR, there are hundreds of accounts similar. I would suggest people research for themselves, rather than believing/disbelieving one study or another.

I suggest you 2 put each other on 'ignore' as the team have better things to do than break up petty bitchin sessions from you 2, if I have to speak to EITHER of you again I will be suggesting to Admin that there are temporary bans

Now please carry on this thread in the manner it was started but I promise you both this situation is being closely watched

Oh and that is for cosmicgirl and Dragonfly fi just incase there are mistakes

erm... I have to say i am a bit confused! I have said NOTHING even related to CG since yesterday???!!!!!!

I'll be honest Jacob is almost 3 and hasn't had his MMR cause he's under going autism diagnosis were currently fighting for separate ones as I don't want to possibly make it worse x

If you wind each other up so much why don't you put each other on 'ignore'?

Tbh it would make things so much easier and this is NOT up for debate, there has been enough ';)' snide remarks on this thread. Please discuss this via pm or by using the 'contact us' button

Not from me there haven't been, since yesterday the only comments I have made on this thread or any others have been nothing.to do with cg!

So why I am being publicly berrated for doing as I am told is beyond me

I would have liked to contribute to this thread but it is exhausting when any point you try to make is jumped on.
All 6 of my children had the mmr and if I had 6 more they would to there are risks with everything in life in my opinion the good far out weigh the bad on this one but if a parent wishes to do it differently then that's up to them we all have a responsibility to our children to protect them and keep them safe. All long as they are immunised the road to get there shouldn't be an issue.

I have to say that I trust the doctors in all this. If it was really dangerous to
Vaccinate babies, they simply woulnt do it. Everything has a risk - you go into hospital for an
Op under general anaesthetic and you have to sign all
Sorts of disclaimers. Maybe I'm Being naive but I feel that those with years of training and studying know
More than I would after reading things online.

I agree hun if we claim to know more then the doctors and people who have spent there whole lives experiencing this and studying there asses off it's seems silly to have doctors at all we could all self immunise and medicate

I'll be getting charley vaccinated! Lacey had it with no side effects, I had it with no side effects etc!
I agree with Amy rose, everything is a risk but why would doctors do it if it was so unsafe!

Of course you should always be able to trust your GP and the advice that they give you. Unfortunately both OH and myself have had bad experiences with our GP, and dont really have any faith in him. My experience with health visitors is also tainted as per my post above. The doctor who gives the single jabs to my LO is a consultant paediatrician with almost 40 years of experience in paediatric medicine, so when he tells me that the MMR is not the best way to go about getting LO vaccinated, I am inclined to believe him.

I think as long as your lo is vaccinated inky it's all that matters. I'm sorry you had a bad experience x

C'est la vie, we all end up in the same place, it's just Taking us a little while longer to get there lol :)

I think its about more than just trusting your GP, they follow guidelines which are created by people much further up who look at numbers rather than people, plus are heavily influenced by the drug companies who manufacture...

there is a lot to it, the corruption of pharma companies is one aspect but for me, the mere fact that it is given that vaccines will damage a portion (albeit a very small portion) of children and this is written in the contraindications, made me look further into the risks and benefits and come to a decision for myself, which i think everyone can do.

Similar to being in a swimming pool with many children, a lifeguard is there to overlook many kids but only you are there to look after your own first and foremost, so you are as vital as the lifeguard to the safety of that child x

like i said you cant voice your opinion without it turning into a bible bashing session. im out of the thread now. enjoy ladies

My thoughts exactly x

Oh dear, sorry again! But really do appreciate everyone's opinions! And have taken on board a lot! I'm glad I asked as its opened my eyes. I just think u have to trust your gut and I would be ignorant to ignore the midwife who said "I'd get the MMR separate" only wish I'd taken a little more interest and the discussion further, it just seemed ages away at 6 month preg xx
