My daughter had hers and had no reaction I spoke to the nurse before hand about any concerns I had but ultimately went for it and I'm so glad she's now protected from it all x

Thomas has his on Tuesday and I'm going ahead with it.

All of the furore around it a few years back turned out to be falsified scientific data and there is lots of scientific research now to say that there is no link to autism.

Obviously there are still side affects and I'm no expert on it but I imagine in the whole that they are fairly rare (particularly the more serious ones otherwise hey wouldn't license the vaccine).

I personally believe in the importance of herd immunity so I will absolutely be getting thomas to have it - the effects of the diseases it vaccinated against are far worse.

No issues here with Noahs MMR.. Just bring chocolate buttons and itll be over before you know it.
I swear its worse for us parents to watch than the babs themselves xx

Harry was ment to hq've his a few weeks back n was unwell so cudnt so had to reschedule for the 12th March. I think the pros out weigh any cons for me. Nervous about it tho poor little love isn't guna like it.

Can't areas enough the importance of vaccinations.

The diseases it protects against can kill children- and it not only ensures that your child is protected, but it also means those people who cannot be vaccinated are less likely to be exposed to the viruses xx

Thanks Guys. Kathryn I hope Thomas' injection goes over quickly. Bless him. I am just terrified of the injection. I whole heartedly agree with immunisation it's just this bloom one the scares the hell out of me. My niece has had hers and she was fine xx

I know what you mean mrssmith. They are so much more aware now aren't they so its not as straight forward. I like the idea of chocolate buttons I'm going to go with that

Daughter had hers a little while ago and has no problems from it :) x

Could agree more!! Measles is on the increase and it kills!!! Mumps can make boys infertile. Decision made as far as I'm concerned!

I know this subject is highly emotive, im completely for immunisation but am still apprehensive about the 3 in 1. Has anyone paid to have a separate jab for the measles? Think I read somewhere that you can do that but it costs about £100? x

This tends to turn into a hot subject and I am not wanting to get into a debate but there are aways two sides to these things. I am not anti vaccine but I also sympathise with those who have concerns. My brother and I both had bad reactions to the MMR. The doctor advised me not to get more vacines. A friends child was severly brain damaged and disabled after an allergic reaction to it too. We thought about it a lot and decided to delay vacines with our children, we plan to do them soon, but I'm still dreading it a bit.

As someone who works with oeople who gsve been left permanently brain damaged from measles I am very eager for my LO to heve it. He's going for his next Friday and I'm not worried at all about it. They'll be fine and the benefits hugely outweigh the risks. There's some dangerous and very inaccurate scare stories surrounding the mmr

This is equally spreading uninformed information.

Measles doesn't kill that easily like vaccines don't kill that easily but both do happen.

Mumps doesn't make automatically make boys infertile either.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumps_vaccine

It wasn't introduced into the UK until 1988. How many infertile boys do you know?

My gran even said she knows a lad who had it as a teen who in fact is now infertile however plenty of boys used to get the mumps and she said I very much doubt they all ended up infertile. We wouldn't be as populated as we are today.

Thomas had his today, bit of crying (he had two boosters as well so was injected 3 times in total) and he's fine now. Nurse said he could develop a high temperature and task up to two weeks after the injection but calpol should do the trick and if worried give them a ring
