Midwife Appointment Today - now worried!!!

I had my 32 week midwife appointment today - just the normal blood test, babys heartbeat, measurements, blood pressure, etc - all perfect which is great! However, when I mentioned I had to return to the hospital at 34 weeks to see my consultant because my placenta is lying slightly low she has now put the fear of god into me - she said that if I get any pains at all and they are close together I am to just get in the car and head for the hospital calling them on the way - this is because I could start to bleed and this would cut off the babys lifeline to me - She wasnt cheeky or anything cause she is a really nice lady but now every twinge I feel I am nearly ready for the car!! She did say that hopefully when I get scanned again at 34 weeks it will have moved but if not it would be a C Seaction which would be organised. I am panicing what if go into labour before my 34 week scan what will happen (my last birth was at 33 weeks!!). Probably I am getting worked up over nothing

Gahh! That's enough to frighten anyone. But try not to worry too much. I had low lying placenta at my 20 week scan but when I went back at 32 weeks it had moved right up so everything's fine. Hopefully this will be the case for you too. All the best and try to relax.

Hope that the scan shows your placenta has moved up and you dont have to worry about this.

When I went to my midwife appointment at 29 weeks she thought i had too much amniotic fluid, so I had to get another scan to double check and they saw that my placenta was low too... but they think it will move up by the 34 week snan.

I think they are just being extra cautious. My husband and I were a bag of nerves after being told that I might have too much amniotic fluid... Turns out we just have a BIG baby!

aww big hugs, that is enough to make anyone worry, id be worrying at any little twinge too.. but im sure you'll be fine.. she prob said it wrong or you heard it 100 times worse..

like when they told me at 32 week scan that jack has fluid between his kidney but its common and theres nothing to worry about.. lucky my mum was there because i heard it completly different and started to worry straight away.. my mum calmed me down though x

Oh dear..sending you a big hug..I was also scanned at 22 weeks and they said I had low placenta..Then I arranged a 4d scan at 29 weeks and they said it has moved a bit up..the sonographer was sure that the placenta will move up by 34 weeks so stay hopeful..in fact I have planned to keep the next scan at 36 weeks instead of 34 just to be sure..just in case you also want to discuss with your midwife..

Awww...I can understand why you're worried. I hope the next 2 weeks go fast for you and your placenta has moved up when you have your 34 weeks scan.

Try to stay cakm, I had a low placenta with one of mine years ago, and it moved up by the end as you grow, sorry can't remember how many weeks. good luck for your scan
