May mummies and rainbows to be :)

Thank you x
Lots of similar names.

We changed all three of our surnames when we got married to my husbands mothers maiden name lol. We went through deed poll but I think it's really pretty. If a bit game of thronesy lol
The name Jon Snow and Danni should take should they get married lol

Thankfully I don't need to worry about surnames as I took Hubby's when we married.

XX

We are engaged, when we get married I will take OHs name but will be keeping mine also and will use mine most of the time. I don't like his surname AT ALL, whereas mine goes nicely with my first name. I just think that she may get upset if we only use his name and don't get married anytime soon, she may wonder why she doesn't have my name but my son does. It will be a long name though. His surname has 11 letters!!! :wall2: xx

I suggested to my OH that he take my name, big no no. I will always use my name at work and doctors etc, otherwise they won't know how to pronounce it xx

Mine is 10 letters lol. I wasn't going to take hubby's previous surname I would have cried my maiden name was awesome so I wasn't going to downgrade lol.

Lol have you noticed we already have one of the longest threads on this board lol we really are talkative lol its not even been a week yet

Hahah, ery, glad I am not the only one. 11 letters is ok but then mine is 5 letters, both together is long. It would only be on the birth certificate though, in school and stuff would just use her dads name but I think it would be nice for her to know she is the same as her brother. We might even be married by then, I would get married tomorrow but its money. IVF cost us a small fortune and took a chunk of savings xx

I have noticed lol, its nice though. Its not just baby talk, all general chit chat. Its so friendly too, when I read some of the other threads and see how they go, I feel lucky that we have such a lovely bunch on here.
If we all loved close by, I would happily meet with you all, feel like friends after all the stuff we have chatted about. You all know far more than most in my life :) xx

Ditto it's a shame were all scattered across the country lol. My maiden name was 4 letter's but if we did hyphenate it made a porn star sounding name lol my surname was an adjective his was a boys name lol

I love all your names :)

We are undecided, apart from the huge list of no's that we are decided on! I'm really picky, my name rules are as follows... No names that aren't pronounced how they are spelled, no names that have a variation of spelling, no names that are already in use in the family, no unisex names, if it has a common abbreviation I have to like that too as likely that is what they will end up called (eg I like Edward but I dislike Ed and also it is a family name so = out).

My name is clearly female, wasn't and still isn't in the top 100 and is simple to spell but I still have spent years working/at school with people with the same name and getting post addressed to Mr!

I got our screening results, we are low risk for all so happy days. Going to book our private scan now so we can find out whether we need to concentrate on a boys or a girls name. I also would prefer to have a bit of a short list so that we can decide after the birth rather than beforehand, not sure why I just think i would prefer it that way.

PS our surname is pretty rubbish, but I had a pretty rubbish one before and double barreling them would have been hysterical! Makes a lot of names ruled out to start with!

I like a lot of irish/celtic and norse names but they are otenhard to pronouce and not spelt the way they sound.

ery loki was on my list oh wouldn't go for it tho lol

we've got aria Elizabeth rowe for a girl and oh chose corey Andrew rowe for a boy lol

Yes, I wanted a name that is spelt the way it sounds. I know Zosia isn't but Polish people will know and they will be the ones using that variation the most. I also needed a name that my son could pronounce well, he was non-verbal for years and his speech is still delayed for age so it was important to me that he can say it well. I don't like shortened names either, we made sure my son had a name that can't be shortened xx

I love the name Aria, I didn't suggest to my OH because I knew he would say no but its beautiful xx

We are in Wales so there is a lot of variety of names about, there are mainly a mix of English, Welsh, Irish and Polish names in this area, but the Irish names tend to be spelled in more of a Welsh way (if that doesn't sound ridiculous) rather than the traditional Irish spellings. We also have a fairly large Dutch influence, I quite like a lot of those names. It does give us a nice pool of names to choose from that while they may be a bit more unusual in the country as a whole they are easily recognised and pronounced here.

I like that we are free to choose pretty much any name here compared with some countries where you have to choose from an official list.

yeah I didn't think he would go for aria but he said yes straight away lol its so pretty :) in let him choose the boys name as I chose the girls lol

I love Wales, I want to move there once my son leaves school. My sister moved there and it is just amazing xx

Yes then you look at north west and apple and and think that a set list may well be a good idea lol
.

I am thinking the kids will have my dw's surname. My surname has only 6 letter, but there is only 1 vowel in there, so it always gets mispronounced. The one thing I like about it though is that it's rare and pretty much everyone with it is related.

We haven't really considered any non-Dutch names yet, but we might have to. Oh, we also like Kai, which is the diminutive in Dutch for Cornelis. We have rule out all names beginning with L because I can't deal with another L name. I'm one of 5 girls and all of out initials were LLL before anyone got married. Otherwise Lukas would be in the mix.
