I love my tattoos, I have quite a few though they are all easily covered and every single one I have means something to me. I am planning a back piece for when I have little Mr, just something to show how much he is loved and wanted after a while of trying for him. Now my Mil is very anti ink, I simply mentioned that I had booked my new tat for a couple of months after little one is due and her remark was 'what is he going to think of you covered in all this nonsense' I think she is referring to the ones on my boobs which again I can and do cover, my body art is for me not for other people. I lost my cool a little bit and may have raised my voice slightly while saying that my ability to care for my child is not impaired by any tattoos that I have and her response is that teachers ect would frown upon it :shakehead: I think the world around me has gone crazy sometimes :eh: just needed a rant I guess

I completely agree with you hun!! I have quite a few tattoos myself and have had to make a pause on my sleeve since I found out I was pg as don't want to take any risks with being inked. I'd never stand for anyone telling me that my ink affects my ability to be a mother or that my ink would be frowned upon and my child would look at me wondering what all that "nonsense" was.

To me, ink has always been a way of expressing my beliefs, who/what I love and care for and I think to care for something so much or to value something so much to have it with you permanently until the day you die, is such a wonderful thing. It's art, nothing more nothing less! I love all ink, I think it's all so wonderful and expresses so much.

Don't listen to what anyone else says - it's your body and you do what you want with it! Your bubba won't think any less xx

I have two sleeves, and chest piece, a back piece , two thigh pieces, both of my hands tattooed and my head, also loads of piercings ( I'm a body piercer) ......
I don give a shit what people think about me, or my husband ( he also has loads ) We will be amazing parents.
I dont do drugs, I'm not violent and I already love this tiny little pod in my belly. Tattoos are beautiful and so are we :D

I couldn't care less about what other think of tattoos and piercings. The only reason I haven't got any ink is mainly financial and trust issues that I would be happy with the art at the end. I will be having a tattoo to remember my 4 angel babies and it's going to go near my streach marks that I got with the last loss. Then when people stare at my marks when I'm in a swimsuit I can believe they are looking at my awesome tattoo rather than the marks left from one of than the worst times of my life. And if anybody has a problem with that then they are the ones with the problem and are full of nonsense not me!

I love my piercings! Even though I have been told the metal leaks toxins into my body, I have 3 tongues bars in, had them for 10 years and I am yet to feel the effects of these toxins lol

That is so lovely, love to you! I have her sons name tattooed on me which she doesn't like either, what she doesn't know is he has tattoos she just can't see them

I have lots of tattoos and piercings, including both sleeves, full chest piece and back. I'm not worried my son will think bad of me for them one day, in fact I believe it will help him understand everyone is different, and that looking different doesn't mean you're bad. My husband doesn't have any tattoos! Complete opposite to me! But I know we'll both be the best parents we can be. If other people want to judge us for looking the way we do that's their problem.

i onky have one at the moment on my arm with my childrens dob and names and i plan alot more when ive got the money and baby is here. i think some.people can express themselves through their tattoos and all mine will have a meaning behind them

Be aware that you can't be inked whilst breastfeeding. I've been waiting to get a few new designs done for pets and babies, so am waiting until this one has finished bfing and getting a rake of new ones done.

My family also hate tattoos, and tried to put me off for years. I finally bit the bullet 5 years ago and got ink I designed myself done, but the "artist" made a complete mess of it and charged me £75 for the privilege! So I need to get the lasered too, before I can get it covered up :wall2::wall2:

That was a totally un-neccasary comment on her part, but I think you handled it well! I probably would have said the exact same thing!

I've got a back peice and a skull in my ankle. My kids don't even notice them, it's just normal to them it's all they have known. And they love my husband's they sit and trace over his arms with their fongers. Teachers never bat an eyelid without being vulgar they see all sorts of parents who are a problem. They deal with drug addicts and drinkers and kids that are in care. The last thing they will worry about Is a good mum with a tattoo xx

Back in her day tattoos were considered to be adorned by army or prisoners, and its likely that really wasn't the case. You'll probably find most teachers have tattoos hidden somewhere too. Our parents still live in their youth not ours. Tattoos are so normal almost everyone has one or more now and no one really bats an eye. Getting a meaningful one is something a lot of parents do and I think its a wonderful reason to get one
