** May 2019 Testing Thread **

Hey ladies.
Been a bit quiet on the testing threads as I haven’t been tracking my cycle. The OH went away for Easter weekend so I thought it would be best to not use opks incase I was ovulating while he was away.
I am quite certain that I ovulated on Sunday though (CD16) had quite bad stomach pains and a shit load of creamy CM (more than I’ve ever had before)
OH had a telephone appointment with the doctor this afternoon, he has been referred to do a sperm analysis, he picks up he’s form and the instructions and the pot tomorrow and will then have to make an appointment with the doctor at our local hospital for the day he needs to do it.
The doctor also said that he will be happy to refer us to the fertility clinic straight away if any problems with the results.
All in all good news for us really but hoping it will just happen naturally very soon!!
Good luck for May ladies xx

You got your day 21s booked?
& Waiting for clinic to give you sperm test?
Nothing else yet proposed??

Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing and they sort themselves out, I have very light periods only last 2-3 days with spotting either side and only one day worth a light tampon. I always worried I had a lining issue and they checked it today at my scan and said it was looking good. Sometimes these things just happen and they don’t always mean the worst. Keep your chin up and I’d definitely get a second opinion xxx
Hopefully so but been happening since January now and I don’t need a tampon or pad at all. So I honestly do mean light. Just on wiping and not even every time. X

That is strange, if it’s unusual for you, even if not ttc i would think the doctors would do some blood tests to check your hormones as you say. Hopefully you get some answers soon x

Morning, could I have the 26th please? Xx

I have most certainly ovulated, i just don't know exactly when. The boobs are aching ALOT! x

Don't need to book can just turn up. I think i may have ovulated on Sunday so i will go on Monday.
My OH has to call the local hospital to confirm when the doctor will be in as he needs to take sperm within 3 hours of doing the test so hopefully next week sometime.
My doctor said he is happy to refer us straight to the fertility clinic once the sperm test results have come back if need be. Not really sure how it works.

Not sure what you mean?
He will obviously need to book an appointment with the Doctor but it is a case of calling and the doctor confirming that he will be there to take the sperm test and analysis it, He doesn't need to go into the local clinic to do the test he can do it at home and take it in.
Its different in all area's so this might not be the same way that your area would do it.

ah yeh i meant like..for example, we got reffered and then a appointment was booked for analysis and got given date/time/rules for test.

for anyone at allll interested.. this is a note we got with our blood test for male hormone levels... all was fine but my DH got low end normal of testosterone so heres what the doctor recommended....

We note that you are taking this test to monitor a condition as you report fertility issues.

Your testosterone result is within the normal range but at the low end. Some men, particularly if they are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone (such as low libido, erectile dysfunction, difficulty in gaining and maintaining muscle mass and lack of energy) may need help to improve their testosterone levels.

Regular moderate exercise can act to increase testosterone levels naturally, whilst too little exercise or frequent intense exercise can result in lower than normal levels. Finding a balance of cardiovascular and strength exercises and allowing your body to recover between workouts may improve testosterone levels.

There is a link between vitamin D levels and testosterone levels, whether vitamin D improves testosterone levels or testosterone improves vitamin D levels is less clear. Vitamin D deficiency is common in the UK so there will be other benefits to supplementing with an over the counter vitamin D supplement. Zinc and magnesium supplementation may both have a similar effect.

Alcohol can decrease testosterone and increase oestradiol, staying within the safe limit of 14 units per week may help to improve levels.

Testosterone has a two-way relationship with obesity. Men who are overweight can improve testosterone by losing weight, whilst those men whose testosterone is low enough to need testosterone therapy may find that their obesity improves as a result.
You can read more about low testosterone levels on our blog:

If you are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone then we recommend that you repeat your testosterone test with an early morning sample (testosterone levels are highest in the morning). A second low result would make a stronger case for any testosterone replacement therapy which may be suitable for you, particularly if your free testosterone is less than 0.22.

The rest of your profile is normal and there is nothing else to suggest a cause for your symptoms. I suggest that you discuss these results with your fertility doctor.

Just my 21 day bloods. The male doctor I saw said age was against me. Cheers doctor. Kept saying it. I’m 39 but i’m not ancient. Lol
Thank you that does help. I’ve been pricing up the clinics near us.
Doctors are so negative about age but most of the data on fertility and age is out of date.

We don't get referred to a fertility clinic until the OH has done hes sperm analysis. When he goes and picks up hes pot today he will have a form for the appointment booking and then the strict rules.

All dates updated, tell me if I missed your testing date!

Thank you for the info @soffphie.

@Hendy1 so sorry AF got you...

@chattychar1990 It's better to have a relaxed cycle, certainly if you're not sure about O day. Good luck with the testing!

@Lollypop79 That doesn't sound right though, I would have your blood checked for hormonal issues at another GP or at least someone more useful. Age has been dismissed as a infertility factor since the research hasn't been updated in ages! It's a bit old fashioned to be claiming that your age is against you.

@SugaryIris when did you get your trigger shot?

I take my trigger 10am Saturday so ovulation would be Sunday night, they then said test date would be 15 days after at the 14th but I actually count that to be the 13th so I suspect I’ll be testing early.

Got a bit of ewcm today which I don’t normally get so fingers crossed this is the month x
