*****March 2019 Mummies*****

That's the hardest part, keeping it from everyone.

No I don't go to the gym, I was such a fitness freak before I had DD. Loved all the gym classes and especially loved running but when pregnant with DD I couldn't as I was so tired then I've just never got back into it since. I have swore that once I've had this baby I will get back into running again as this will be our last. Although I do do a lot of walking.

Just take it easy and do what you can. Sounds like you listened to your body and got on the bike anyways.

Summergurl, this one is at 1:30pm. I’d have preferred a morning one but this is all they had. Yeah it’s my last IVF one. Should see a fair bit on this one.

I dont go to the gym but I've been trying to stay active as much as possible. I've been doing the big summer clean and will start ripping put my living room soon.

Today I've booked my early scan for 25th Aug (day before my birthday) we will have scan then lunch. The next day I'm flying home to see my parents and tell them in person which I've never got to do before! I'm excited about that.

Currently in Soft play with the kids and bored silly as I forgot my crochet!

Haha Chase nesting already!

We have a scan booked for 9th Aug but that is because our wee bean gave us a fright last week so will likely show then that were about 6 weeks and hopefully see a wee heartbeat! Will have to wait another 6 before we tell anyone.

Oh Lord soft play- created by the devil himself! One thing I am not looking forward to!

I’m so jealous of you all having early scans, don’t think hubby would agree to me having one, I’ve got a Doppler (I know not everyone agrees with them) so I’ll be using that once marshmallow has a heart to beat to see if I can hear it, although I know you can’t necessarily hear it at the start. <3

I’m not a massive fan of soft play either. It might be a bit better when he’s old enough that I don’t have to follow him around. He’s still at that awkward age though where he’s mobile enough but doesn’t understand social rules. Think that’s going to take a while though

Summergurl, this one is at 1:30pm. I’d have preferred a morning one but this is all they had. Yeah it’s my last IVF one. Should see a fair bit on this one.

Oh exciting! Are you counting down the days? Now that I've booked it feel so much more relaxed knowing I'm not having to wait until end of Aug.

Soft play is hell. I agree it's always hot and sticky. Thankfully with all this nice weather we haven't had to go for a while!

Ah chase that's lovely you'll be able to tell them face to face.
We have planned a bbq at ours and told our family it's so they can see the garden as we're getting it done up but little do they know, in reality we'll be telling them we will be having baby number 2! I am just praying that my scan comes before that as we're away the week after!

My goodness you’re all so good at keeping this to yourselves. My entire family knew the day we had our bfp and I’ve been letting friends know gradually depending on who knew about the ivf and how ofte I see them. I guess that’s how my neighbour and my daughters teacher know, yet a very good friend doesn’t. I haven’t seen her and really want to tell her face to face. I’m just crap at keeping things to myself.

Summergurl I’m definitely counting down the days. I start reducing my meds on Sunday so that’s the next big milestone for me. I could have had that scan anywhen next week but hubby could only make the Friday. I just keep telling myself that the further along that are, the bigger they are. Apparently they expect them grow 1mm a day at the moment. The difference between a 6 week scan and an 8 week should be huge.

Aw Ellie it won't be long till you can see your little one wriggling about, we're only getting an early one cos I had the cramping and some spotting.

Chase and Summergurl lovely that u can make a whole event with the family over your announcement .

Hayz it's definitely not easy to keep it to yourself! My 2 best friends and now my boss know (due to the bit of drama last week) bit otherwise nobody else. It's hard, that's why I joined this forum as it's been a bit lonely since I found out, you have a lovely support network to chat to!xx

It is definitely hard to keep it to yourself, I haven’t told my manager yet, I suppose to as soon as I find out but my SIL is deputy and she would have to know too but she’s recently had a mc so I’m holding off until Wednesday.

She wasn’t exactly over the moon last time we told her we were pregnant, so not sure how she’ll be this time around, not telling SILs face to face just sending them a photo of DD with ‘I’m going to be a big sister’ in the background.

<3

Aw Ellie,

It must be so hard for your SIL but it's such a happy thing for you. Its hard isnt it. We have friends who are going through IVF and have been trying for 5 years and have just had their 2nd round fail so I'm dreading telling them. They're the loveliest people so I know they'll be happy for us but I just don't want to make them sad with our news, especially since we didn't tell ANYONE we were actively TTC xx

It's fairly easy for us to keep it quiet as my brother and his wife gave birth go their 2nd child last Saturday so we won't be stepping on their special time of a newborn with an announcement of ours.

I'm not sure about telling work.
I'm off work at the moment but planning to go back next month. They will be absolutely fine with it as my boss is a very good friend of mine but I really want my family to know first this time. Just guess it all depends on whether I need to be sick from work with anything pregnancy related!

Anyone else worrying about their scan date?

I'm so worried I'm not going to get it at 12 weeks and they'll make me wait until 14weeks. Think I'll cry if that's the case

Aw Summergurl cute! They'll be close in age then!

I only told my boss as I had a bit of meltdown last week after I had spoken to the midwife and had to go home (drama queen !).

Oh could they make you wait until 14 weeks? Why??

My scan date isn't till 13.5 weeks, I'll be huge by then so can't wait

My SIL literally gave birth today and I don't want to steal her thunder so I'm happy to wait!

Aw so nice your SIL's will have babies a similar age! My hubbys cousin and his wife (who we're really close too) are due in December so excited to have a maternity mate

We haven’t told anyone. My boss knows because I’ve been signed off night shifts due to the pregnancy but that’s it.

I must have a nose the size of Pinocchio with the amount of lying I’ve had to do to cover it though.

With my last mc in April, I haemorrhaged and got admitted to my own ward so it’s very common knowledge at work. I get asked about three times a day if I’m pregnant yet (which makes me really cross as I’d never ask anyone that, but I think health professionals think they’re allowed to ask such nosey questions). And yesterday out of the blue my mother in law texted my husband saying she had a feeling I’m pregnant again and pressing him to confirm.

It’ll be a miracle if I get to sixteen weeks (the point me and my husband had said we’d wait to tell everyone) without it being general public knowledge

Aw Chase, that’s so lovely.

I’ve not even had my booking appointment yet so I’ve no idea when I’m going to get my nhs scan. Thin I’ll give the dr a ring tomorrow to see if they’ve referred me to the midwife yet. Or maybe I should try the midwife direct.

Aw Akua that's not on.

I work at the hospital too and know too well how pregnancy news can spread like absolute wildfire! I just think it's inappropriate in general to ask people 're their pregnancy status never mind if there's a history there.

Hayz I rang the doc on Monday when I found out. Rang again Wed as I hadn't heard anything and they hadn't referred me to the midwife! On Thur I still hadn't heard anything and I wasn't feeling right so I rang the midwife direct and they were brilliant! I would say just ring them if you're concerned, nothing was a bother for them x

Ha! Was in soft play today! Was at least a bit cooler than out in the 32 degrees - far too hot for me!!

Chase - I was going to do a similar thing! My birthday is 24th August so was thinking an early scan and then go back to Cornwall to tell the parents. But I FaceTimed them within a day of finding out!!! Plan didn’t last for long! Still want an early scan though.

I have already told more people this time as been having work difficulties and needed to vent. Really hoping I haven’t jinxed anything. Xxx
