*****March 2019 Mummies*****

Let us know Summer. When are you booking it for?
It's natural to worry but symptoms come and go x

I have booked it for the 3rd August when I'll be 8+2. I already feel a lot less worried knowing that I'll know what's going on in only 12 sleeps times.

I understand how worrying it can be Summergurl, did you have lots of symptoms with DD?

I’m 4 weeks today <3

Happy 4 weeks!
With DD I only had really bad tiredness, very sensitive nipples and an aversion to washing up liquid when in the water and raw meat.

This time I'm a little tired but nowhere near as tired as I felt with DD & my nipples are sensitive but again no where near as sensitive.

I'm just a worrier. I'm off sick from work at the minute with anxiety so I just had to book one otherwise I'll be in for another 6 weeks of the constant worry and stress and it's really not good for me.

Hi eb86, welcome and congrats!
Please do feel free to stick around if you get moved to April. You could still turn out to be a March mummy!

Re maternity clothes I got a lovely pair of jeans in the mothercare sale the other day for £16 online.

I've got a few stretchy dresses from primark that i plan on wearing with tights. I got. Black dress in new look the other day in the sale too for £6. Other than that I'll just stick to my jeans and some long sleeve stretchy tops from primark. I'm a girl who likes tops to cling to my bump, the only time I'm happy with my belly being on show

Congratulations, ED!
Try not to worry :)
Have you suffered losses before?
x

I haven't suffered a loss before, and this would be my first successful conception. But last year (July 2017 actually) I kissed a period by 2 days, and got a bfp with a Superdrug Digital once...yet every other test was a negative. Turned out Superdrug not very reliable and it was a dud test.

It was still very disappointing. 😕

This time I'm over 2 weeks late and I've heard Clear Blue Digitial are more reliable.

Xxx

That’s amazing. Wish I was clever like that. I have a friend who can do lovely little blankets so I’m hoping she might get busy for me. I’m being superstitious though so won’t be asking until much nearer the date!

It’s been helping me so far being able to count down the days until my scan. Although now it’s nearer I’m starting to freak out again.

Just to add to my last post, it’s quite reassuring how symptomatic I am. My boobs are killing me and they definitely look bigger. I’ve also been pretty nauseous

I did a bit of goggling for you there and there is a risk of salmonella. If you have someone else to deal with the turtle (I. E. Don't touch it or it's water) then it won't cause you any harm. Otherwise it recommends wearing gloves to handle and good hand hygiene

August I used to have turtles. I always figured as long as I washed my hands after I’d be ok?

Thanks for the turtle advice, it’s reassuring as they are very cute and entertaining and I don’t want to have to get rid of them. I actually live on my own, I’m doing all this by myself and I’m feeling a bit shell shocked today, but in a good way! It’s happened so fast.

Thanks again for the help 😃

Crochet is really easy. I taught myself off youtube. This is the first time I've ever made a blanket like this! I watched a video 3 days ago and boom!

I've started another (different one) already. Need to keep my mind and my hands busy as it helps with my anxiety and binge eating

Hi March Mummies....

I'm a bit apprehensive about joining the group as it still feels extremely early days, and every toilet visit I'm super anxious!!!

But, had a bfp with a Clear Blue Digital this morning, 2 weeks late for period so 'unofficially' 5 weeks pregnant with due date around 24th March - if things do progress may tip into an April date when confirmed.

I'm known for being an anxious individual which sucks right now, as I'm already convinced it won't happen.

Going to test again in 4 days if no bleeding and have doctor's appointment Friday.

I am over analysing everything......how annoying

Xxxx

Congratulations EB! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months. It’s normal to worry, Mummy instincts kicking in xx

Congratulations and welcome EB.

Chase, that is a gorgeous blanket.

Akua, it’s amazing how willingly we accept feeling like poo since it’s a good sign. My boobs haven’t done anything yet this time but all other symptoms are 10 times worse than before.

Summergurl, you’ll have that scan in no time. They’re not all that clear as baby is so small, but it’s absolutely fascinating. Yolk sacs make me laught.

EB, clear blues are normally less sensitive than the others so you need more of the hormone to get a positive. My clinic only ever suggest clear blue and then they don’t feel the need to retest themselves since they’re so accurate.

August, it’s funny isn’t it. You want something really badly but you’re aware it might take a while. Then it happens and you don’t really feel prepared! This is our 3rd cycle since DS2 and when it worked the excitement very quickly turned to fear. I want this more than anything but I find myself often wondering what the hell I’ve done lol.

Feeling a bit more human today but I guess there’s time for that to change.

Chase did you get through the family gathering without anyone noticing?

August we're all around here to help with advice etc it's why this forum is great.

Another day closer to the scan! I just want it to be next Friday already!

You ladies who have got your scams first will help my countdown.

Sparky one week today until yours isn't it?

Mines on Wednesday, I’ll be 6+2 (I’m six weeks today!)

Now it’s nearer I’m worrying I’ve booked it to soon and I’m going to panic if I can’t see anything, when really I might have got my dates in a muddle as I have literally no idea when I ovulated and I’m going on my period dates

These scans everyone is talking about....are they private early scans you've arranged yourself?

Has everyone been to the doctor for confirmation of pregnancy?

I'm at the doctor's Friday and a bit clueless what they will say/do but assume they'll do a blood test to confirm it and then is it a case of just waiting to safely reach the 12 week mark??

I'll be a nervous wreck waiting for it to be confirmed. I'm still a bit like, 'what if it was a false test'.

Xxx

You'll be fine EB just listen to your body :)
Any symptoms?

I'm not sure as I'm over analysing everything. 🙄

One thing I have noticed which feels a bit different is my nipples (sorry). They keep hurting every now and again and seem to always be hard, even in this warm bloody heat when I'm a sweaty mess.

I've had a few pulls and twinges in my stomach. Not painful, just a twinge but didn't know if 2 weeks after missed AF that was her arriving. She hasn't done yet. She was due 9th July and my Clear Blue bfp was yesterday.

Xxxx

Mines an nhs viability scan since I have a bit of a crap history. A lot of other girls have booked private ones just for reassurance.

Your doctor won’t do a lot to be honest. Sometimes they repeat the urine test, sometimes they don’t. They’ll just lecture you on what not to eat, give up smoking, etc and refer you to a midwife

Happy 6 weeks! Hopefully you'll be able to see something even if it just the blob of a heart beat. Excited for you.

Yes, I'm having a private scan. Booked mine yesterday to try and help ease my anxiety.
I haven't been to the docs yet but down here (I'm in Plymouth) the docs/midwives don't test you. The home pregnancy tests are just as reliable, if not more than the tests they have do they don't do thm.

The doc will probably just go through with you health things, folic acid supplements etc then refer you to the midwife for your booking in appt xxx

Thanks ladies. It's all very interesting.

I had a false positive last year with Superdrug Digital and they did a blood test to confirm. So expect they'll do that if I ask.

I'm a heamophilia carrier so risk pregnancy if I carry a boy, so I know I've to report possible pregnancy to them. I think I just want reassurance it wasn't another dodgy test.

Xx

Summergurl, our scan is on the same day.

Akua, I was 6+2 for my first scan. The embryo is tiny and can take a while to find. Mine was just under 3mm. The heart shows as a flashing light. It looks like a diamond ring with a sparkle at the top. Very sweet.

EB I get 2 early scans with my IVF clinic. They like to make sure everything is in the right place and developing nicely before they hand you back over to the nhs. I went to the dr to let them know I was pregnant and like others have said, they really don’t do much. Mine has referred me to a midwife but I haven’t had that booking appointment yet. The general chat about folic acid and what to eat/not to eat etc but that was it. Oh and she took my height, weight and blood pressure.

Tiredness is hitting me hard today, this is when I wish I worked for someone else and could just half arse my day :rotfl: I cannot keep my eyes open!
