**March 2018 Mummies - Tri 2**

Hi Sk8erzeh,

I have my 16 week antenatal appointment and class/workshop this Friday, even though I'll be 17 weeks. Looking forward to hearing the little ones heartbeat and just getting checked over in general. Have felt totally in limbo for ages as I had my dating scan at 11 weeks and seems so long ago. Only 3 weeks and 2 days until my 20 week scan and I can't wait!!

I've been feeling pretty good, skin has cleared up from spots, no nausea and have more energy (still not as much as I would like though!). My boobs arent really sore anymore.........are they supposed to be? They havent really increased much in size either. Getting the occasional fluttering feeling in there and hope that its the baby moving around!
I had some round ligament pain, just for one evening though. Now getting some siatica above my right bumcheek which is annoying. My main bugbear is that I am still suffering pregnancy rhinitis which I have got used to. Always carrying tons of tissues around with me.

Bump feels massive for it being my first and I am pretty much in maternity jeans, tights and leggings all the time now.
Going to pregnancy yoga on a Sunday which is lovely. Going to go swimming once a week when I reach 20 weeks as well.

I think I have been pretty lucky and had nothing major to report so far and side effects not extreme. My only worry was some brown spotting at around 14 weeks but got checked over by the doc who heard the heartbeat and its stopped so I assume it was just part of the course.
Its good to be able to enjoy it a bit more now and get excited as it finally sinks in! Starting to research and buy some baby stuff! We have our entire house to paint inside as well as put a new bathroom in in the next few months so kept busy which helps the time go in!

Hope everyone else is starting to feel better and enjoy the second trimester.xx

How are you girls doing?

Midwife told me to vaccinate against flu. I don't think I have ever done this. Are you girls going to get flue jabs done?

I feel huge today. Can't understand is this bloating or really big tummy. :)

Oh yeah I hadnt thought of the flu jab. I have midwife appointment Friday so going to ask her then about it.

Yes i had the Flu jab last winter due to being pregnant & as i`am pregnant again this winter i will be having it again this year too X

How does it feel to have flu jab? Did you feel ok afterwards?

Never had done. Going to have it this Friday.

My midwife said I'd be called automatically for the flu jab, they recommend it for all pregnant women and as I work in a school I'm more likely to get it anyway. Having had the flu a couple of years ago I am more than happy to have the jab!

I'm 17 weeks today, feeling like time is going quite quickly now! Only 3 weeks until my next scan :) Bump has really popped out in the past ten days or so, it's now very firm from my pelvis up to my belly button and getting rounder by the day. I've had some very sore stretchy pains that I assume is round ligament pain - ouch! Fortunately other than that I'm still having an easy time of it.

Thinking of a trip to mothercare at the weekend to test drive some prams! No intention of buying there but will be fun anyway...

I felt absolutely fine & i never got flu even though my daughter & my partner both did !!!

It defintely worked for me X

Merry how was trip to Mothercare?

Loopy, I had flu jab yesterday. I feel fine :) Was a bit worried about it :)

Today i had my quad test results back, I came back low risk ... so pleased X

I have my flu jab every year ( bad asthma) and never have anything beyond a sniffle. I didn't have it last year by accident and got such a bad case of flu I instantly regretted it. Was out for days and weak for even longer.

Hello Tri2!!

Just back from my hols and 14 weeks today - had scan before I went and due date moved back to 24th March. Was lovely on holiday having had the scan and knowing by everything ok and my 3 year old so happy he is going to be a big brother!

Nausea and tiredness passed now so feeling 'normal' again and only 6 weeks until next scan so feeling like time speeding up.

Going to catch up on this thread tomorrow, have a serious backlog of holiday washing to get through tonight so can chill tomorrow before back to work on Monday.

Hope everyone is feeling well xx

Glad you had a good holiday summertime!

We went to Mothercare yesterday, just to have a look at prams and have a bit of a play with them...well, we all know how that goes :) So...we found 2 prams we really liked, came home and did some research, and bought one. I'm very excited and can't wait for it to arrive, going to have to persuade the cats to play along when we test it out (it's ok, they'd run a mile if we tried!)

We went for this one: http://www.mothercare.com/prams-and...hair-and-hold-car-seat---funfair/psKB320.html
It's the Cosatto Giggle 2 and comes with carrycot, pushchair, car seat and various extras like a fleecy footmuff. £370 for the whole lot which is about the amount we had set aside, so happy with that. Lots of really good reviews (I spent hours looking for negative ones, like you do!) and we spent ages playing around to see how it all works and it's really easy to use. Very exciting!

Thats nice Merry, I`am on the look out for a Tandem pushchair, So far i like the Silver Cross Wave but if anybody has any suggestions i would be grateful X

ReGlad you had a nice holiday Summertime!

Merry beautiful pram. Very colourful.

I like a few prams will make my choice a bit later.

Anyone having gender scans? I've book a private one for next week.

:)

Welcome back Summertime, glad you are feeling better and had a lovely time away.

Gorgeous pram Merry.

Im debating whether to get the Babylo Cozi Sleeper or the Chicco Next to Me. The Babylo from Toys R Us is a fair bit cheaper and gets the same good reviews.
Does anyone have any experience with either?

I love the Cosatto giggle, would love to get another pram but don't think can justify it as already have one from the first time around.

I've got a few things on my list that either we couldnt afford the first time around or weren't a big thing then but my husband it adament we shouldn't be buying anything this time around!

Did anyone get to hear the heartbeat at their 16 week scan? i'm in a different area this time so don't know if they will do it or not but hopefully they will as so lovely to hear.

We are keeping the gender a suprise for the birth my I'm convinced its another boy xx

My sister kept a lot of her stuff for me in her attic, some of it like brand new, but I know what you mean about wanting to buy new stuff!

I had my 16 week appointment on Friday and got to hear the heartbeat! It was just amazing to hear it. It was around 150bpm.

Keeping our gender a surprise too and have managed to talk DH round into not finding out. My instinct tells me a boy but DH and most of my friends/family think girl. My sister wants to start a betting pool lol. Its fun to guess/speculate until he/she arrives!

Summertime you will hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks for sure.

It's amazing :)

Will you get a Moses basket? I was thinking about a cot and a sleeping nest in it. :)

Loveandpeace, I can't resist finding out the gender. :)

I'm planning on getting a moses basket but think the next to me type cots look good (just can't justify the expense for such a short time!) Not sure of the different types though!

My midwife appointment is on Wednesday, really hoping I'll hear the heartbeat! I'm 18 weeks tomorrow so hoping I'm far enough along to hear it for sure :)

We're not going to find out the gender as I love the idea of it being a surprise (husband would like to but mainly for convenience! Think for a second baby that makes more sense..

I didn't get to hear the heartbeat at my 16 week midwife. She said they're not allowed because it can cause unnecessary panic.
