male midwife

so i went for my 1st midwife appoinment today i have a male midwife i dont think my hubby is very happy about it but he seemed really nice gonna be weird though

i dont think my hubby would be happy either but wouldnt bother me 1 bit i had a male in with me on my ds as all he had seen was complicated labours as thats is what he was specialising in so i was asked as im a straight forward case could he come in so he can compare normal to complicated lol i hardly noticed he was there to be honest lol

Was that the comunity midwife? As they dnt deliver the baby, only hospital ones do so hubby shudnt worrie

I reckon I'd feel the same as if it was a woman , I mean they have had the exact same training and experience in work .

I had a male midwife come on mon to do a sweep and it was fine hubby was also a bit weird about it but at the end of the day if ur ok with it doesnt make any difference all

he was really nice looking he is married we sat there having a chat bout all sorts and he said even his wife thought ut was strange when they met and he said if i ever want to get a woman nurse in with us thats fine i was really weird bout it till i met him he was really nice i think my hubby will come round when he meets him thanks for all your replys

It wouldnt bother me anymore than a male nurse or male doctor would!Ive worked with male nurses and I find I get on loadz better with them, less bitchy!Would your Hubby dislike it if a male Dr examined you?xxx

I think I would have preferred a male midwife I chose my hosp I had Chloe at coz of one consultant but unfortunately e had retired but I had him wig my other two and felt much more relaxed with him than I did with anyone else but I don't know if that's coz he was male ... Lol!! He was jut really nice explained everything
Also I'm more attracted to women and had more relationships with women so think I'm more naturally relaxed around men

Reminds of the time I went for a sexual healthy screen - in a waiting room of girls with 3 female doctors, 1 man - guess who got the man??? he was was really charming and good looking and he kept leaning over and patting my knee - I was so embarrassed having to tell him my sexual history then strip off and get my bits out for him!! I wouldn't be dead against a male midwife, but I think I'd relax more around a woman! x
