i was always suspicious from the day that kate and gerry went for a jog, about a week after their daughter went missing!

thats not normal behaviour

so im not saying im suspicious now just because of whats happening.. ive always felt like that

i would naturally assume they must have some
evidence to implicate them however the police havent
confirmed anything about the blood in the hire car etc..
they could be saying that to scare kate into a confession.
also the evidence they do have is very minimal as they are
obviously trying to get her to confess..they wouldnt bother
doing that if they had enough evidence to get them convicted.

yeh thats true who knows how any of us would act
in that situation..esp given that they were on holiday.
out of their normal environment.

i know what ppl are saying about them loving the media
attention but it seems to me they have pushed the investigation,
tried to keep maddie in the public eye as much as possible
so ppl wouldnt forget. and stayed in portugal against all advice
i think thats what i would do..i'd want my child back! it seems normal!

they have a secrecy law in portugal so the police arent
allowed to tell the media stuff.

all this info is coming from the friends and familys of the mcCanns
and locals..mostly rumours! the police only confirm things every now and then.

I think we were always told too much. If people had her and every sighting was noted and reported wouldnt that push the kidnappers underground.

I've always thought there was something weird about this but I can't put my finger on it. I don't mean I definately think that the mccanns are guilty, but I've never been 100% sure they are innocent either.
I get the feeling we don't know the whole story, there's stuff that the mccanns are keeping to themself.
I did wonder if the police might have made Kate a suspect to lull the abductor/murderer (if there is one) into a false sense of security so they trip up and expose themselves, but the reactions of family members have made this seem unlikely.
I wouldn't rule out an accidental killing though, it would be quite plausible seeing as nobody really knows the timescale for what happened that evening. The theory of the kids being drugged is interesting and I wouldn't rule that out.
I hope this case is solved soon and Madeleine can be found

to all parents.... If someone stole your baby.... wouldn't you just want to hide from the world.... never see another living soul???

I would have a family member or friend make all the statements, perhaps make one or two appeals... but I just couldn't face speaking to the rest of the world....I would just fall apart emotionally.... Either the McCanns are stronger people than I am or...

I don't believe for a second that they were involved.

However, I'm not surprised at all about the way this 'investigation' is panning out. Saw this coming weeks ago.

I hope it get resolved soon.

I don't know they were not involved, just as I don't know they were. It's all speculation and everyone seems to have an opinion, as demonstrated by the (what seems like) hundreds of threads on the subject started by forum members over the months.

The only person/people who know exactly what happened that night are the one(s) directly involved.

The ongoing heightened media interest has little to do with the Mccans courting of publicity and more to do with the fact the media think they're involved and have been folllowing the story until something like this came to light IMO.

Like everyone else, I hope this is all over soon.

I think everyones confusion is made worse by the way the portugese police are handling this and the way the law works over there, was it not said when the morat guy was made suspect that it was a step he chose to make so he could have more legal protection and the police could push the interview a step forward, i dont know what to think, i hope to god that the McCanns had nothing to do with this and i truly can't believe they did, maybe i am nieve (sp)
