Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Yes, Starting the Buserelin on Tuesday so soon! then first scan 2nd of October to see if I can start fsh injections. They give us 2 attempts as well unless they decide to put 2 embryos in which they did not think since my amh is good and "only" 37.

What success rate did they give you?

I am starting to get really nervous now and a little freaked out about the injections!!

I think they gave us 35 - 40% we are both 27 and so far only diagnosed male factor infertility so with ICSI ivf I don't see why we won't get there eventually however it takes on average 3 attempts so we shall see :)

It's so exciting when you start, just please prepare yourself for the possibility of things changing or potentially being cancelled I know you are told that but I didn't believe it, being told we were having a freeze all really knocked me for six. Xx

Thanks! I know, have to be prepared but not sure how I will handle a cancel for example.. Not sure what nhs does if its cancelled, another one or that's it?

xx good luck with those embryos! :)

The injections are fine Hun once you get going with them it's nothing to worry about.

I had my day 11 scan for iui today and the follicles are still small was really gutted as had my hopes up for treatment tomorrow have to go back Monday after two more lots of menopur and see what's happening

Thanks Mariaisabella, I think they would do it again if it was canceled but I'm not sure xxx

I was terrified about the injections but they are fine, they are more of a hassle than anything.
That's a shame Laura but sometimes they do grow more slowly and the plans are only an estimate.
We could have started the nasal spray yesterday but the first tracking scan would probably have fallen when we are going away so I have another baseline scan next week and we start after that as long as the cyst has dispersed. They also found that silly swollen tube again that looks like a hydrosalpinx. It keeps coming and going, annoying.

MariaIsabella, im NHS and just had 5 day transfer. We get four attempts, 2 fresh 2 frozen. Although we now have 7 frosties so will only now be offered frozen. You will be fine with the injections im sure, I found them loads easier than I imagined.

Hope you all dont mind me still being in this group, really not ready to move over yet as only 2 weeks!

Sending you all lots of luck and sticky baby dust x

Poispinner you can't go anywhere just yet!! Your my inspiration ;)
Four attempts!! Where do you live? This postcode lottery is crazy!

Hey all

Great to see everyone's updates and progress. I'm finding it all really useful!

We had our first consultation today and going for ivf/icsi next cycle. Eek, period due in about 2 weeks!

Such an emotional day, really hit home. I was meant to go to work after my apt but couldn't face it. Guessing this is the start of an emotional journey ha xx

Oh yes niknak get used to those emotions they get worse once the u jections start. I worked from home from when we started stimms and going back next week. It's all so exciting, I hope af doesn't give you the run around like mine did! Be good and on time witch! Xx

Aww that brought a lump to my throat  thank you lol

Im in Cambridgeshire, been having my treatment at Bourn Hall in Peterborough and Cambridge. I think its unfair that treatment differs depending on where you live, it should be the same for all x

Thanks everyone. I am sure the injections will be fine and I will go in to the hospital for my first day so they can support me :)

Have had bleeding/spotting throughout the whole time I have been on Microgynon which is annoying ( 3 weeks ). Called tnurses many times and they all say its normal for many women when on the pill and that it's better I bleed so the lining is thin when we start the stimms.. Still worry me a bit. Anyone had the same issue?

xx

I've been spotting whilst on Microgynon this time, I never did when I was on it for contraception! I think it was because my lining was very thick after the progesterone and didn't shed properly whilst on the nasal spray before the cycle was cancelled. Try not to worry if you can! :)

The ball is rolling now niknak the next two weeks will fly by and you know they are going to be doing something, sending you lots of luck xxx

Question for you lovely ladies.

I have just been on a due date calculator website (especially for ivf as every other one asked for your last period date which wouldn't give me a true date). Anyway they have all come back saying im 4w 5d pregnant even though egg collection was only 2 weeks 5days ago. They say that you are classed as already 2 weeks pregnant by the time of egg transfer. Is this correct? First I have heard of it but makes it all that bit more exciting if im further along than I thought! xx

Yes that's right! In an average 28 day cycle ovulation is presumed to be on day 14 which means by the end of the cycle if you conceive you'll be 4 weeks pregnant. Basically it goes from the beginning of the cycle so you get the extra 2 weeks. Hope this makes sense! Congratulations xx

Yes that's right Poispinner! Your already a third way through your first trimester :)

We have successfully had 2 embryos frozen I was a bit upset that out of all those eggs we have 2 little frosties but I'm so happy that we have them there ready for me. There are 4 others that were a day behind that may be able to be frozen today so will find out later.
Confusing thing is Af arrived today! Cd 18!! 6 days after EC so as we only have to now have one more bleed I feel like everything has moved closer :) only problem is I have predicted that roughly fet could be the time of a family wedding, do you think they would mind if I didn't go? Xxx

2 frosties is great and good news its all moving a bit sooner than expected. Does your family member know what your doing? Im sure they would understand and be fine with it. If they dont know and you dont want to tell them I would just say your really poorly and cant go. ET is so much easier than EC and you will feel fine afterwards so its up to you how you feel whether you go and obviously how close to ET the wedding is.
