Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

How's your scan today jasmine?

Just had my last one before EC Monday. I've got 1 x 20mm 2 x 19mm, 2 x 15mm, 2 x 14mm and 10 between 10 and 13mm. My E2 was 7700 Wednesday so it's indicating at least 7 follies have eggs. Lining 12.6 I think. I'm to trigger with pregnyl as ovitrelle can make ohss worse, nurse seemed to think my E2 from today would be 10,000 or more putting me at risk, god I hope not! Waiting for call back about timings for trigger and monday xx

Maybe, I think blueflower had something similar happen xx

Yes I had fluid in a tube for IUI and my first IVF. It was very scary as they talked about clipping the tube! The nurse said it so matter of factly! I assumed its irreversible but maybe its not?

But my tube was clear by the time EC came round, it often happens due to the stims medication apparently. I was all set to have it drained during the procedure but it wasn't necessary, so relieved! And it didn't happen for the last IVF, I don't think it happened for the 2nd one either. If they leave it, the fluid can travel down and harm the embryo, preventing implantation apparently, but that's only if its a harmful fluid rather than just something caused by the meds. There was no hydrosalpinx found at my laparoscopy and as they are caused by infections, it was unlikely that one would suddenly appear during medication!

I'm sure it will be fine, good luck!

Had my second scan, follicles all looking good and thick lining, so I'm down for EC on Sunday. Have to take my pregnyl tonight. It sounds like they are just going to drain the fluid, they said there's not that much of it and it's only in one tube. Happy days :) xx

I do wonder how it differs between the country. My ivf department is part of St Mary's hospital in manchester, it seems to be open all the time! The bloods they do have to be done at 7.45am so god knows what time they open xx

That's good news jasmine, I'm booked in for Monday, Sunday is the only day they don't do it at my clinic xx

Good luck ladies xx every thing crossed for you xx take it easy after EC xx

Good luck for your egg collections ladies.

Finally our funding has been approved, looking start Aug/Sept :) xxx

Thanks blueflower, girls that have done this before. My nurse consult is the same day my af would be due in Aug do you think they would let us use that cycle out would we have to wait for the next cycle? Xxx

That's good news cdababy! Do you know if you're doing the long or short protocol? If you're doing the long protocol then I can't see why not. If your doing the short protocol there's a chance you could start that cycle too, maybe ask your clinic? I'm on tube short protocol, I has my baseline scan on cd2 and starting stims that evening so I do to see why I couldn't have started after seeing the nurse cd1, it will depend on whether all your blood tests and smears etc are up to date, do you know if they are? It might be worth ringing your clinic to check and if they're not getting everything done beforehand. I had to repeat my full blood count and my chlamydia test. It might be worth starting co enzyme q10 now as it can improve egg quality and needs about 3 months to be effective xx

Hi Jasmine, I cycled at St Mary's in October/November and they didn't open at weekend then. I heard they changed it a couple of months later so they could treat more ladies, it's great that they've made these changes! They open at 7.30 for bloods so they've always been early birds lol. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow xx

Good luck to all the ladies on this thread, looking forward to some bfps soon xx

I was allowed to start the long protocol on CD2 because everything was up to date and I had to start on the pill and they had some in, the other drugs were ordered but I didn't need them for 3 weeks. I decided not to though as I didn't want to be doing injections at Christmas and thought January would be better. Give them a call, they sound very flexible!

I think it will depend on whether your tests are up to date, I had all my initial tests in January. When I came to start my injections, it was only my smear test and baseline scan that were in date. I had to have bloods done again for HIV etc and a urine sample. The bloods were done first thing in the morning of CD2, they got the results back the same day so I started my injections that day. Good luck! X

Yes that is great news that they are able to treat more ladies. They even take people in on bank holidays which I didn't think they would do. Xx

Thanks ladies, we have our doc appointment in July and a clinical trial appointment in June, there they are redoing my bloods so they are up to date, an endo scratch and baseline scan u think. I have no idea what protocol we are on. Didn't even know there were different types. They will tell me at the doc appointment I'm sure. Xx

All sounds good start in August then. A short protocol is where you don't down regulate so it happens within one cycle.

Good luck today jasmine! Xx

Hello ladies, I'm back already from the hospital, there was only two of us in the ward today so we were in and out pretty quickly. They got six eggs, I thought there would be a lot more but they said they were expecting that. So I'll find out tomorrow how many have fertilised xx

Excellent jasmine, not too uncomfortable I hope! 6 is good, I think I'll get 6 or 7, everything crossed for your call tomorrow xx

I had a little of pain whilst still in the hospital, but I feel ok now just a little tired. We set off to the hospital at 7 this morning so I might have a nap for a bit xx
