Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Yeah, its best to take it in a bit at a time! Has the nurse written down a schedule of when to take what?

Not yet. I know I have to take the norethisterone 3 times a day. Then as soon as I get a bleed I need to book in for my baseline scan. We will then be shown how to prepare the injections and will be given a meds schedule. The staff at my Centre are great and I can email my nurse at any time. I'm sure I'll be fine :-)

Good luck KeepItCrossed. We're at roughly the same stage... I'm on day 11 of DR today but my baseline scan isn't until 21st Jan! I've had and finished my bleed now but still quite a while before I start the next stage

Hi ladies hope you're all well.
I'm off for my AMH blood test today so we can get the results back in a couple of weeks and then have my chat and plan. It feels like it's going a bit slowly but I've got plenty to keep occupied with over the next couple of weeks so I'm sure it'll be fine. X

Hi, did any of you ladies continue to chart your BBT during IVF just to keep track of things? I'm so used to doing it I'm thinking of carrying on. x

MissJuly hope your blood test went well when is your appointment to chat about it all? x

Keepitcrossed, I didnt carry on with BBT, I'd been do fed up with doing it for so many months I was glad to not have to do it, I felt the same about OPK's too, felt a little less weight on the shoulders not having to think about it as much lol! x

Although its quite fun to do a cheapy OPK after the trigger shot as its so dark!

Oh really? I never knew that lol I will have to do that next time :-) x

Hope you are all well... while at the group info sesh weve all been handed norethisterone prescriptions to start on cd21. Ive opted for the endometrial scratch though its no longer compulsory for nhs patients as our unit has not seen an increase in success rates. Also having embryo glue which is included. Feeling positive and ready to get stuck in :)

That must be strange doing it in a group! Glad you're feeling positive about it, that's good!

Seeing a dozen other couples in the lecture hall and you ladies on here reminds us were not the only ones :)

Keepitcrossed.... have they indicated how long to take norethisterone for before stopping for your bleed?

Is norethisterone similar to the contraceptive pill?
We have a support group at our clinic but we aren't members. DH considered making friends with the couple who had their egg collection and transfer on the same days as our first go but decided against it in case only one of us was successful. I haven't seen them in the clinic since so they probably were so its just as well. I prefer you lot instead of having to face real people, especially if we're unsuccessful.

I think its Progesterone to hold off af to fit your treatment into their diaries. They mentioned that nurse may tell you not to bother with taking any if af will fall into their diary well. I have 3 weeks before comencing. I overheard some self funded couples talk about starting in Mar/Apr as of course they can choose and prob would rather have the baby jan/feb than dec.... but nhs funded you are allocated to a mth.

How are you getting on with the steroids RAFMrs?

Hello,

I'm not doing to bad thank you, I have been have some palpitations and anxiety issues which we are not sure it my thyroid has gone out of whack so had a blood test for that yesterday, if thyroid is still under control then it will be the steroids causing it :(

I started my 450iu menopur today so we are off the starting block now, got a scan next Thursday to see how the follicles are doing and if I need to change my dosage.

Oh that's the same reason they use the pill at our clinic then. For our first IVF the baby/babies Birthday would have been the same month as DH, he was quite excited about it, bless him. Then the 2nd one would have been the same month as me. It makes me feel so sad that we were wrong. You do IVF hoping and almost expecting it to work because it feels like the end if the line and its got to work. Its so horrible when it doesn't.

Ooh hope you are ok RAFMrs, hope you get some good follicles!

Best not to think too far ahead isnt it.. I try to focus on whats coming up next than the end product and having you all to talk to each step of the way :)
