Ladies doing IVF or IUI - 2015 (9 BFPs!)

Yes I had transfers before but I suspect they didn't implant due to chromosome problems. This process was to indicate if this was the issue so I suppose now we know. I wonder if they can do anything to help, can't think what.
Thanks we will see what the consultant has to say, did you have that RAFMrs?

This can be a good sign - I felt like af was coming for about a week before otd and my cycle worked. I think Charlie had the same. Fx for you xxx

Yes, hang in there Mel. Cramping can be a good sign of your little one starting to get comfy.

Thanks for your support ladies, DH is just giving his sample. I am just waiting to go down. X

Thanks everyone.

How did you get on today Phonixgirl? Been thinking of you.

Blueflower how are you doing today too?
xx

I couldn't sleep last night and woke up so early this morning and couldn't get back. But I collected our new cat from the RSPCA at lunchtime and have been settling her in! She is currently purring on my lap so really cheering me up.
How are you today? Hope work wasn't too stressful?

Aww thats so lovely that you've picked your cat up.
What's her name? Are you going to add a pic?

My day was actually really stressful. I was rushing around all over the place. Regret not slowing down now.
I'm still feeling really crampy. I really feel like af is coming :(

Blueflower it's lovely you have rescued a cat, they can be a really welcomed comfort.

Not long Mel, tomorrow is testing day, hoping the cramps are your embryo snuggling in tight. Xxx

Having trouble sleeping still, I am usually such a good sleeper so I look awful! Been distracted nicely by the cat but it popped into my head this morning that if this had worked our baby would have been due on my Birthday next year which made me feel so sad.
I will put a cat pic and name on my journal as only we have access to those. I am still wary of putting personal info on the main forums as anyone can see them and if I have similar info on Facebook, people might identify me and read what I wrote about DH and other relatives!!

Hey ladies!

Blueflower - your cat sounds lovely. They are beautiful creatures that make a world of difference to our lives.

After yesterday, I have a newfound admiration for you all - especially if you have been through EC over and over again (looking at you Blueflower). I was the last to go down, one lady woke up crying but the others were fine and discharged quickly. I thought I'd be the same...

Buuuutttt in a semi-sedative state the anaesthetic must have worn off and I started feeling pain. I was dreaming I was at work and started crying (how embarrassing). When I came around a bit more I got really hot and told DH I was going to be sick. It was the greenest green you could imagine, never seen anything like it!

After a while, they asked if I wanted some biscuits and a cup of tea. My blood pressure was stupidly low (60 over something - should be 110!) so they thought they might help. But no, I was just sick again!

They tried to get me to go for a wee. I couldn't go anyway then fainted on the way out.

I managed to eat some cheese and crackers. I tried the toilet twice more, couldn't go and fainted both times. My blood pressure was still low.

By now, everyone else had gone home and most of the nurses had moved onto other jobs lol. I was put on a drip but it only brought it up a little. My face was grey. They did an internal scan which hurt and there was a little fluid but that's normal. They decided it was best to keep me in for the night just in case so I was moved to gynae... I got home about an hour ago!

But they did get 9 eggs and I have been told 6 fertilised. DH is disappointed but it wasn't ICSI and it only takes one. Think we will have a few months of natural TTC before IVF again... only thing is, I'm on the waiting list to have my wisdom tooth out so whatever happens I'm going to have to go through all that again! X

Oh god, phonixgirl- what a nightmare! Hope you're feeling better today and so good that 6 fertilised x

Oh you poor thing. We were wondering what had happened to you! I had a few low blood pressure experiences after EC but never actually fainted or vomited. Never again though. Its horrible when you hear others in pain too. Its incredible what we go through for the slightest chance of a baby. Hopefully this will work for you and you won't have to do it again. 9 eggs and 6 embryos is good!

Rest up and hope you feel better soon, sounds very traumatic.
I am on the sofa with my cute new cat keeping me warm!

Thank you so much. The lengths we will go to to have a baby, hey!

It is horrible hearing others in pain. I never actually got onto the gynae ward - I was in the assessment area all night (which meant they forgot to give me breakfast but never mind). At about 10pm there was a lady shouting at the staff, saying it wasn't fair she was being treated differently because of her bipolar disorder (there was a lengthy waiting time as one doctor served both the wards and the emergencies). She then started shouting how she was an alcoholic. I really hoped she wasn't pregnant because most of the ladies there were...

There was also something that made me sad. A lady was in the bed opposite because she had fainted a few times and felt faint again. She had been having bleeding, passed a clot and had cramps. She was 6 weeks pregnant. I really hoped I was wrong but it sounded like a miscarriage. She had an early scan that day too, by my consultant... which means they were undergoing fertility treatment before they conceived :-(

I have been scaring myself from looking at Google. Some people are saying that up to 90% die between day 3 and day 5 :-/ Therefore, I might not end up with any to transfer at all. They do transfers on a Saturday though so if things don't look good tomorrow then I guess they will rush me in and do it then. Maybe?!

I keep telling myself that they are the professionals, not me or Google, they know what's best and will want to do anything to boost their success rates. And we have the embryoscope monitoring them too.

Oh my gosh Phonixgirl, sounds like you've been through the mill.
Pleased to hear you got 9 eggs and 6 fertilised :)
How are you feeling now?

I too have huge admiration for those who've had to endure more than one round of ivf.

As for me I'm still feeling crampy and having a few problems with my IBS ... mainly caused by the pesseries.
I'm so excited but nervous to test tomorrow morning xx

I really hope those cramps are a good sign! Tomorrow, eek. I am excited and nervous for you, but I have a good feeling xx

My tummy is sore and I can't walk far but that's to be expected considering where they've been digging around. I'm not being sick or fainting anymore though.

If this doesn't work, I am definitely going to try metformin alone for a few months before another IVF cycle. I was a bit concerned they might not want to do the transfer because of how my body was but looks like that's going ahead (as long as I have something to transfer!). Xxx
